MrSpaM Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 Tried to post one this morning and it just keeps displaying the hyperlink rather than the actual video in the post, has this been done on purpose?
DB11 Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVMZorLf64E Edit: Seems to work for me
Larry_LCFC Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVMZorLf64E Edit: Seems to work for me I actually sat and watched that
Gary Eatfood Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 I actually sat and watched that Same here, my favourites were the cat with it's tongue out, the cat with suction pads for paws and the food thief at the very end.
MrSpaM Posted 11 February 2015 Author Posted 11 February 2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyguBEc2dw4 edit: still doesn't seem to be working for me?
DB11 Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 edit: still doesn't seem to be working for me? It must be something you're doing?
MrSpaM Posted 11 February 2015 Author Posted 11 February 2015 It must be something you're doing? Weird, all I'm doing is copying and pasting the url Edit : And it works when I quote other people
DB11 Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 Weird, all I'm doing is copying and pasting the url Edit : And it works when I quote other people That's all I'm doing. Even when I quoted you your link turned into a video
davieG Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 I'm the same as MrSpam. all I get is the url when I post but I get the video in other postings. Edit on MrSpam's first url posting all I get is the url I get the video on DB!!'s postings.
DB11 Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 Is it a browser issue? I posted using Safari (on iPad)
MrSpaM Posted 12 February 2015 Author Posted 12 February 2015 I'm using Firefox if that makes any difference? Edit : Got a bit confused, was using internet explorer yesterday when it wasnt working, it seems to be working ok if i'm using firefox
Trav Le Bleu Posted 2 April 2015 Posted 2 April 2015 This has just started happening to me too - weirdness!
DB11 Posted 2 April 2015 Posted 2 April 2015 I've noticed that when a post has the YouTube URL in as opposed to an embedded video the link is always HTTPS as opposed to HTTP maybe the secure version cannot be embedded
StanSP Posted 2 April 2015 Posted 2 April 2015 Just use the URL instead of the 'share' link on YouTube.
Jaspa Posted 2 April 2015 Posted 2 April 2015 Just use the URL instead of the 'share' link on YouTube. Sometimes if youve followed it off of another site though it can do the same thing. Google the title of the video and use the URL from the same video that comes up.
Carl the Llama Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LztFgqvFjX8 https://youtu.be/LztFgqvFjX8 Just seeing if either work for me... Edit: Oh good, so I just need to remember to not use the share link.
MPH Posted 24 April 2015 Posted 24 April 2015 Top right corner of the url box.... are any of you who cant post the full youtube seeing a broken page/window/ box thingy? about fitting to the screen?
Carl the Llama Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Top right corner of the url box.... are any of you who cant post the full youtube seeing a broken page/window/ box thingy? about fitting to the screen? No...
MPH Posted 1 May 2015 Posted 1 May 2015 Another little thought.... are you signed in to a youtube/ google account when trying to post a video?
Haydos Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 Another little thought.... are you signed in to a youtube/ google account when trying to post a video? This could be it. Every time I go to post a vid I'm signed into youtube and it's often from a playlist of mine. If you get there via a site re-direct that can make the url weird as well. If in doubt just paste the name of the vid back into youtube and get the original link.
Stadt Posted 3 May 2015 Posted 3 May 2015 I'm having the same problem, I'm clicking on the embed link
ozleicester Posted 4 May 2015 Posted 4 May 2015 Im just copying and pasting from you tube.. just getting the link? eg. or by adding it to the hyperlink thingo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3oH0ReL3Cew EDIT - ahh ok then.. so its using the hyperlink thing thats buggering me up... just paste it straight in and its fine it would seem
