Jeremy Kyle

I went in a Chinese Takeaway a couple of weeks ago and the girl behind the counter taking the orders was sat on a stool, on her mobile phone and had put Jeremy Kyle on the TV inside the store

I mean normally they just have a film or the news or something easy and light on so she must have actually chosen to change the channel to put that on.. it really put me off lol

You get approximately 10 scumbags a show.

It's on every weekday, so 50 scumbags a week. That's 2600 scumbags a year. Jeremy Kyle has been running for 10 years so that's approximately 26,000 scumbags who've appeared on there. There's no sign of the show stopping either.

Depressing. I think underclass better described these people than working class.

'The underclass is the segment of the population that occupies the lowest possible position in a class hierarchy, below the core body of the working class.'

Jeremy Kyle and the people behind the scenes are the biggest scumbags attached to this show.

You could say that exploiting ill, horrible or just plain unintelligent people and their problems to make money is immoral.

But at the end of the day at least they're working and paying taxes, and I'm sure the show does offer aftercare in terms of counselling to certain people.

Why do people go on these shows? Or are they actors?

These people are awful. How do they get to this state? I usually want to try to understand people and what causes them to act, behave or live in a certain way. I don't think there are many answers for some of these people. On the whole, it looks like they clearly have access to social services and have some income. So why do they behave like this? The shows I've seen the people are white (or orange?), so there are no racial socioeconomic inhibitors. I just don't understand.

I can understand that if their parents didn't prioritise education and hard work they grow up in that mindframe, but then you see the rest of the world. You see how people work and live, and you'd think you'd adjust? But they must just be stuck in that sub-culture. Do they not want better for themselves and their children?

I honestly think a lot of them are actors. But certainly when you live abroad you realise what advantages people have in the UK, and how so many people are willing to squander them. We do seem to denigrate education and success quite a bit.

Not a chance are they actors, would have been exposed by now if any yet alone many were.

In reality it's because they get £500 upfront, a free night in the Premier Inn Manchester (all expenses paid) and believe it or not going on Jeremy Kyle has become like an ASBO to a lot of the underclass - a badge of honour, All part of the 'scum and proud' generation we've brilliantly managed to produce over the last 20 years. I know one guy who has been on and he did it as he'd just got out of prison and needed the cash - the producers really do prey on them. Even to the point of threatening to go to the papers with 'what they've done' if they have second thoughts about going on when they get there.

Racial socioeconomic inhibitors have always been massively exaggerated by middle class liberals in Britain, the vast majority of complete down and outs I've come into contact have nearly always been white even in a city that's about half Asian. The Somalians do put up a decent effort though.
