SecretPro Posted 9 March 2015 Posted 9 March 2015 Oliver was absolutely spot-on tonight. Breath of fresh air compared to most ref performances this season.
SystonFox Posted 9 March 2015 Posted 9 March 2015 Prem league it has to be David elleray Sunday league Martin Dexter but I believe he has done championship games. Top bloke
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 9 March 2015 Posted 9 March 2015 Always been impressed when we have had Mike Dean. Some reason we haven't had him all this season and i don't know why. Much better than having ****ing Atkinson Moss and others of that ilk
phg Posted 10 March 2015 Posted 10 March 2015 Oliver was absolutely spot-on tonight. Breath of fresh air compared to most ref performances this season. agreed. Real courage in a hostile cauldron.
Swiss_tony Posted 10 March 2015 Posted 10 March 2015 agreed. Real courage in a hostile cauldron. we moan about refs, but oliver didn't put a foot wrong IMO. going after simulation, the argie grabbing his shirt. if we could only get more refs like him, and get them to clamp down on grabbing at corners which is the bane of the modern game, it might actually be enjoyable to watch again..
Babylon Posted 10 March 2015 Posted 10 March 2015 Fantastic performance really last night, not easy decisions by any stretch of the imagination either.
DB11 Posted 10 March 2015 Posted 10 March 2015 Prem refs earn £50k And the rest..... They get a retainer of around that much simply to just make it affordable to jack in their day job to become "full time" and pay for a mortgage etc. On top of that they get a match fee of nearly £1k for each game, all travelling expenses including food, and all of their kit/uniform provided for them
dpjfox Posted 10 March 2015 Posted 10 March 2015 jack taylor easily he did let it flow, but was firm/fair
shen Posted 10 March 2015 Posted 10 March 2015 I thought Anders Frisk was a fantastic ref! A shame he retired because of threats made to him, but I remember him as making the right calls with difficult decisions 9 times out of 10. Incidentally, the calls he made that led to the threats were right. Collina was a great ref too overall, but he always had some very suspect games which left an uneasy feeling with me. The one that sticks out was the decision to award the Netherlands a penalty in added time against the Czechs at Euro 2000 (See video 8:42 onwards). Today it might seem completely legit, but the swan dive and the fact de Boer would've never reached the cross means to me that he bottled it or was bought. http://truba.com/video/87464/
ousefox Posted 10 March 2015 Posted 10 March 2015 I can't understand why we haven't had Mike Dean once this season. Surely there must be some sort of explanation. Oliver and Dean are the only ones I don't mind having.

Bert Posted 10 March 2015 Posted 10 March 2015 Been saying Oliver is the best ref around for some time. Mike Dean isn't that bad. The rest are all arrogant toss sacks. Collina was the best ever though, by a distance.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 10 March 2015 Author Posted 10 March 2015 Prem refs earn £50k Pretty good, and I suppose they have other jobs also?
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 10 March 2015 Author Posted 10 March 2015 Go with this, brilliant performance by the ref tonight. Bet he's got earache from Rooney ranting at him for 90 minutes. What a fine example our England captain sets - moaning twat. I think he did a brilliant job, and yes, Rooney was a right gobby burk last night.
