How many "stars" stay for championship return

Its just like ive said before

The squad needs an instant return to the Premier League. If it doesnt happen immediately in that first season, the more you become bogged down, bit by bit, one by one, every decent player will leave. The squad will have to be somehow rebuilt on ever decreasing income, and then the probability of relegation, not promotion is a likelihood. Weve been through it, and the examples from other clubs are there. Look at Wigan, established in the prem for a number of years, fa cup winners, and being reduced to rubble, all within 2 years.

In the immediate future, Its a given that Mahrez and Kramaric will move on. But going forward, how much can you rely on the fitness of the aeging names of Hammond, Wasilewski and Upson? Is it realistic to think youll drop players like Moore and Drinkwater for large parts of this season and expect them to come in and have an instant impact next season? what about Albrighton who has been completely frozen out , he cant be happy with his situation either.

And with the out of contract players leaving too, turnover will be pretty high. A huge concern for me is goalkeeper and defence. I could see Kasper moving on, im sure a few clubs would still like to take a punt on him, and weve already seen this season we have a defence made up of aeging players, out of contract players, loanees, players either completely out of form or just simply not good enough. I dont think its being unreasonable to suggest that Pearson, or a new manager, would probably need an almost entire new back 4 next season.

It also remains to be seen how much faith we put in the likes of Lawrence, Barmby, Hopper next season as to who departs. If these lads are good enough to make the step up im all for it, but its a big ask.

I can honestly say, get ready to shoot me down, but if youd have said 12 months ago this is what the outlook would be like, id have laughed. Make no bones though, in my opinion this will be a badly regressed squad than the 102 points squad. All scarred by previous experiences, all older, its best parts sold on, and cut price additions that will have to prove they are up for a championship dogfight.

No it isn't

Both are under contract, the latter of whom joined us when we were bottom & relegation looked more likely than not

I suspect Mahrez will move on as he's a high value player & a large lump sum appearing in our accounts in addition to parachute payments will do wonders for the kind of creative accounting we need to do

Well, players under contract get sold. And if a bigger club comes in for either them, theyll be off to new pastures. Mahrez already hinted he wasnt enthralled about the prospect of a championship season upcoming, and Kramaric could walk into a host of european clubs. Turn bids down, your left with unhappy players, then player power takes over and you have a useless asset that you need to shift.

with regards to this i totally agree, but say we keep kramaric and he is unhappy , how can he not still perform in the championship. know one wants a striker that cant score in that league so it would be in his best interest to prove that league is piss easy for him.

Knockaert I think will be off. e has barely played so why would he sign a new contract. Upson and Cambiasso I think will leave.

Mahrez maybe nut he seriously lacks consistency.

Honestly I wouldn't want to buy many of our players, none of them have shone. Plus we have given long contracts to quite a few of our players.

Players too go.... James, vardy, Ritchie, drinky, estaban, Kasper, mahrez, kramaric, gtf, huth(only on loan), knockart, moore

Where are the players going? Unless their contracts are expiring, no one is buying.

how do you know no one is buying? Who's too say players want too stay? They might put in transfer requests. Do you think some players that haven't had a chance this season stay and play in the championship because all the players Niger bought were not up for the challenge and not good enough for the premier but won't want too play in the championship so they will leave do you expect players too stay and say that's okay....They won't I think we will go down and struggle too get top 6 next season as all our decent players will go and that'll be the young players the james drinkwater moore mahrez and then we will go and buy 30+ year old has beens and will get no where....... you herd it here first

Yes, I'm sure people are lining up to buy our bottom of the league, under performing, totally not PL worthy players.
