Unlikely to want or have a pay cut clause ... WILL LEAVE KAMARIC ... Still has to click , moments of serious tallent , looks a serious prospect , as city unlikely to take a loss on him and I'm not sure anyone wants him at that sort of money ...WILL STAY Mahrez ... Talented but Inconsistant , light weight but looks to have a serious future at £8m+ ...WILL LEAVE CAMBIASSO ...high wages and probablly a desire to start coaching career will mean ...WILL LEAVE And finally 4 YEAR CONTRACTs mess ....De Laet , King , Drinkwater and Vardy all signed new 4 year contracts on premier league wages , lucrative ones, rumours about that none of these have significant pay cuts for be Being relegated If that's true then a number of these might need to go to comply with FFP rules DE LAET ... Stays Drinkwater .. Stays King ...Stays Vardy ....will go (enough interest still in him)

We SHOULD be well set to do it again. It will be 'all in the mind'!

Mahrez and Cambiasso will definitely leave and good luck to them. Kramaric seems too good for the Champ - not sure what will happen to him. Wouldn't be shocked if we loaned him to a Prem club, Loic Remy style. Think we'll keep the rest except people who are out of contract. Think Wasyl may want to leave. I'd offer Konch a new deal as a back up left back. I'm sure we'll get a few bids for players but we don't need to sell.

Cambiasso will be out of contract, hopefully he will stay at the club in a back room capacity but doubt it. Kramaric - Depending on his contract and the offers that come in for him I think he'll stay. He needs time to adapt to a higher standard of playing. The only other offers we will get will be from other championship sides and we won't sell to rivals.

This is what the team could look like: Hamer RDL Moore Morgan Schlupp Albrighton King Drinkwater Knockaert Ulloa Kramaric If Ulloa and Kramaric go then Nugent and Vardy it is!

If we have a new manager some of the fringe players who think they won't get a game under Nige, Knockeart,Albrighton,Wood,Hamer etc might stick around to see if they're given a chance. Otherwise they'll probably move for first team football.

Cambiaso may stay on because of his age and he'll get regular football. Schmiechal won't go because he's blind.

Just hope he wants to stick around to play with DD again next season.

He's good enough. Just depends on offers too of course.
muzzy1981 Posted 8 March 2015 Posted 8 March 2015 I think we will have to bring in some new people to freshen things up, I'm no psychologist but surely there will be quite a few players who just won't be able to get the same level of motivation, which is crucial, particularly those who haven't featured much e.g. drinky, knocky, de laet, king, vardy, nuge. In terms of those leaving, cambi, kram, mahrez. Surely Ulloa is good to keep in the champ?

I have my reasons for the failures of this season, and one I firmly believe is that this squad is far too big with too many similar qualities. Ideally I'd be working around a strong 18-20 man MAX core (not the current 24/25) and using Chilwell as back up at left back (to a new left back with Konch gone), Lawrence, Barmby, Cain, McCourt and Hopper all as back up too. A game or two here and there off the bench would not hurt the team or their own personal development at all. Instead, there seems to be no direct route for them into the squad. My 18 man squad would be: Hamer, Schmeichel (if he stays) De Laet Moore (also as back up RB) Morgan (strip of captaincy) Wasilewski NEW CB NEW LB Albrighton Knockaert Schlupp James (CAPTAIN) Drinkwater Cambiasso (player-coach rule or even player-manager ) King Vardy Kramaric Nugent If an offer comes in for Ulloa I'd take it. I'm also sadly resigned to losing Mahrez. However, it is absolutely key that we can hold on to James, Schlupp and Kramaric.

Kasper will end up bench warming unhappily. Mahrez will show the same flashes of brilliance and games where he does nothing but he'll stay in a starting 11 - Swansea like team. I hope Kramaric stays, not sure who'll take him but someone will if he wants to go. These 4 will be gone because of age - though I'd be open to keeping the first 3. UpsonCambiassoHammondGTF
