Claridge Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 I know a lot of people rate him but i don't see why. Creates very little and goes to pieces in the box.The silly 5 at the back doesn't help the midfield but i just feel that James is a pace short at this level.

This forum makes me laugh What do you want to do praise them and say what an amazing job they do? makes me cry this forum when people don't criticise players who earn masses and don;t perform. Would you wait for a meal for ages or hours for a taxi,no you would complain about the shit job there doing. I spend thousands of pounds following LCFC with the family as do loads of others,why is it wrong to ask what a player does for the team? Lets just sing,cheer blah,blah blah,blah there is nothing wrong is there.
RizLCFC Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 Cambiasso is the only CM who can hack it at this level. James is the best of the rest but nowhere near PL quality. Hammond has done quite well, very capable of doing the dirty work, shame he can't stay fit.
Guest Col city fan Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 Our midfield has been appalling this season. Cambiasso has been nowhere near as fantastic as people make out. However, I maintain this has been more about playing two in the middle than anything else. What purpose did the midfield serve yesterday? James can't shoot for shit. Cambiasso was trying long balls into the box which invariably went out of play. Mahrez was just....well rubbish Having been brought up with the likes of Garry Parker, Neil Lennon and Muzzy Izzett, I can hand on heart say that this midfield is not a patch on them. I think you have to be old enough to have seen these players play to appreciate it when I say that our midfield, at this level, is quite shocking. Cambiasso might have been the best of them..but I've struggled to see all season the purpose he brings to the side. Regarding James, he always seems to play better with Drinkwater, but where has he vanished to? My contention is that our midfield, the heartbeat of any side, has been our biggest issue this season.

However Matty James is an influential part of the side in other areas, shows great energy, usually keeps possession well, can help out defensively and has good drive going forward. He has had a mixture of a season like most of the squad, but for me he is still one of the best midfielders I've seen play for Leicester, since the days of Parker, Lennon, Savage & Izzet.

Because he can't cross either, it's embarassing really, professional footballers and none of them can put in a decent cross. The only one who probably can is Albrighton, but why should the manager play him?

You play him as a DM, and give license to two other midfielders to get forward. You are right...he's poor in the final third...so play to his strengths. This box to box midfielder shite has not worked all season.

They either don't go further than the first man or curl away from our players. I'm convinced they do **** all set pieces in training. His shooting is probably the worst out of our whole starting 11 as well.

ADK Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 You can't expect all players to be creative. James had a decent game mopping up and keeping the ball moving. His composure in the box could do with improvement but he's a good player.
