OzFox Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 http://news.sky.com/...ouncil-car-park That's quite some curvature of the spine. Surprised he could walk
bigbadbaldy Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 Apparently he was found under the pay and decay!
MikeyT Posted 4 February 2013 Author Posted 4 February 2013 That's quite some curvature of the spine. Surprised he could walk First thing I thought too. Looked pretty bad!
Babylon Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 Richard Third is a blue, is a blue, is a blue Richard Third is a blue, he hates forest. You can shove your Robin Hood up your arse... side ways.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 Richard Third is a blue, is a blue, is a blue Richard Third is a blue, he hates forest. You can shove your Robin Hood up your arse... side ways. Give it a year, they'll claim they've found the remains of Robin Hood... much like Homer Simpson's "Angel"
Wycombe Fox Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 The skeleton was found in good condition with its feet missing in a grave around 680 metres below ground level. 680 metres below ground level??? Surely that's not right.
MrSpaM Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 Right, so now we can all get back to arguing about where to re-bury the poor guy...
kingfox Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 We have a famous Car Park, we have King Richard, we have the Space Centre, we have The Elephant Man, we have Engelbert Humperdinck, we have a football team 2nd in the Championship. Booooom
Parafox Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 680 metres below ground level??? Surely that's not right. There's a lot of crap been dumped on St Nicks since 1485. We have a famous Car Park, we have King Richard, we have the Space Centre, we have The Elephant Man, we have Engelbert Humperdinck, we have a football team 2nd in the Championship. What do Coventry have, one of the worst hit bombed places in the Second World War, a team now in League 1, and a team with a rented stadium. How is this relevant?
kingfox Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 How is this relevant? It's just another thing that makes us better than most cities, especially Coventry, Nottingham and Derby.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 680 metres below ground level???Surely that's not right. It says 68 centimetres? Seems strange to me that nobody would have pulled the arrow out of the king's back before burying him.
Reynard Bleu Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 Many historicalrecords claim the battle of Bosworth was a close run thing, had Stanley not intervened and/or Richard had slain Henry Tudor, we may not have such a special car park?
OzFox Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 It says 68 centimetres? Seems strange to me that nobody would have pulled the arrow out of the king's back before burying him. Maybe they did. It was barbed. I didn't realise they found the skeleton on the first day of the dig. Either very good luck or good research. And that it was almost directly under an "R" for a reserved parking space http://www.richardiii.net/leicester_dig.php#facetime
johnny the fox Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 Having to spend 500 years in a leicester car park, no wonder he got the hump, but they wouldn't let him out without a ticket..
Tom17LCFC Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 Always grew up thinking his body was chucked in the river. Decent for the city this.
Wycombe Fox Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 It says 68 centimetres? They've edited it!! 680m??? That's not looking for a body, that's mining!!
Guest BlueBrett Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 you'd need a massive trowel for that kind of project
Collymore Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 "There was also evidence of "humiliation" injuries, including a pelvic wound likely to have been caused by an upward thrust of a weapon, through the buttock." Ouch!!
Zingari Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 "There was also evidence of "humiliation" injuries, including a pelvic wound likely to have been caused by an upward thrust of a weapon, through the buttock." Ouch!! No wonder his back was badly curved . I'd be bent over double if someone did that to me !!
Guest BlueBrett Posted 4 February 2013 Posted 4 February 2013 No wonder his back was badly curved . I'd be bent over double if someone did that to me !! Yeah if it's going to happen you may as well present for them
