davieG Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-31973051 Your answers place you slightly to the left of the political centre in comparison with the overall population in 2014. You scored 10 out of 25 A score of 5 is the furthest left and 25 is the furthest right. Around a fifth of the population have similar views to you. Your views would have been close to the centre of the political spectrum in 1995 and 1996.
ADK Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 I found the questions a bit rubbish really. "Your answers place you to the right of the political centre in comparison with the rest of the population in 2014. You scored 17 out of 25" "A score of 5 is the furthest left and 25 is the furthest right. Around a fifth of the population have similar views to you. Your answers place you a long way from the political centre in any year but you would have been closest to the centre of the political spectrum from 2004-2007 and in 2010."
Guest Kopfkino Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 Yeah not the best questions Your answers place you to the right of the political centre in comparison with the rest of the population in 2014. You scored 21 out of 25 A score of 5 is the furthest left and 25 is the furthest right. Your views are within a small percentage of the population that is furthest to the right and are a long way from the political centre in all years since 1986.
Buce Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 You scored 5 out of 25A score of 5 is the furthest left and 25 is the furthest right. Your answers would place you a long way from the political centre in any year but you would have been closest to the centre of political opinion in 1995 and 1996.
davieG Posted 21 March 2015 Author Posted 21 March 2015 These things are never to be taken seriously.
ADK Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 It's flawed as well since the programmer is clearly treating 12.5 as the centre of the spectrum but with a range of 5-25 it should be 15. Yet scoring 14 which is actually slightly to the left of centre gets you labelled as slightly right wing and getting 17 like I did makes you far to the right when it should only be centre right. Add to that the short number of questions, the arguably leading nature of the questions, and the lack of variety in the questions (no questions about immigration, environment etc) and it's a nice example of a poll that is flawed in everyway and of no use. Of course, the "left wing/right wing" binary view of political opinion is already flawed.
ousefox Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 You scored 8 out of 25 A score of 5 is the furthest left and 25 is the furthest right. Your answers would place you a long way from the political centre in any year but you would have been closest to the centre of political opinion in 1995 and 1996.
Webbo Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 Your answers place you to the right of the political centre in comparison with the rest of the population in 2014. You scored 20 out of 25
DB11 Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 Slightly to the right apparently. Not that I know what any of this means Is it bad that when I vote I just look at the names and see which sounds good? They're all the same really
DennisNedry Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 Agree that the questions are poor. I'm slightly on the left, apparently!
LanguedocFox Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 "Your answers place you slightly to the left of the political centre in comparison with the overall population in 2014. You scored 11 out of 25." Questions were very poor and I don't think addressed many of the issues that will affect how people vote this year. It would be interesting to see a survey on people's understanding of the facts about (say) immigration, NHS funding, welfare spending, and our balance of trade with the rest of the EU.
Strokes Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 Slightly to the right apparently. cityfanlee23 Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 Your answers place you to the right of the political centre in comparison with the rest of the population in 2014. You scored 22 out of 25 A score of 5 is the furthest left and 25 is the furthest right. Your views are within a small percentage of the population that is furthest to the right and are a long way from the political centre in all years since 1986. Terrible questions... Such as the question "To what extent do you agree or disagree that management will always try to get the better of employees if it gets the chance?" If the questions were better I think i'd have score further to the centre. I believe in a centre right government over Far right, With emphasis on making the country more economically competitive globally in order to share the nations wealth rather than the individuals.

Jon the Hat Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 19. If anyone gets 5 they have some kind of major chip on their shoulder.

Carl the Llama Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 6: Your answers would place you a long way from the political centre in any year but you would have been closest to the centre of political opinion in 1995 and 1996. So basically if you feel particularly strongly that the wealth distribution's completely fvcked right now (which it is) then you must be a loony lefty. Tbf I'd vote for Caroline Lucas MP's blaze it 420 party every day of the week.
