dog_4 Posted 9 September 2007 Posted 9 September 2007 If we were to buy him permanately would sunderland be asking over the odds? I heard keano and Quinn describing the goalkeeping area a specialist skill and you need to spend over the odds for a good goalkeeper, hence why they did. has fulop is highly rated by them and actually quite good what kind of money would they want? would be interesting to see if we did persue it.
ASH17LCFC Posted 9 September 2007 Posted 9 September 2007 Reckon a million because Cov couldn't afford him like a year ago. Why did sunderland buy him anyway ? Never played him.

So with that in mind, maybe up to 2 million plus?
The People's Hero Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 His RRP is £23.99 but the Mail on Sunday are giving out vouchers every Sunday for 6 weeks. The paper costs £1.30 and postage and packing is £2.95. So technically, we could get him for £10.75 if we're a bit savvy. If we all collect the coupons, we could have an army of them. And who wouldn't want an army, apart from a pacifist who wishes to remain completely defenceless entrusting the safety of their people to the will of some god?
Geo V Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 I think we should have bought him out right instead of a loan deal because we will end up hiking his price up if he continues to impress. I`d try and make the move permanent with a sly and cheeky Paddy Mac bid of £650k.

The People's Hero Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 You dont frequent HotUkDeals perchance! Replace the word Deals with the word Milfs and erm.... why? who's asking?
Trumpet Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 Replace the word Deals with the word Milfs and erm.... why? who's asking? His mother apparently
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 He signed on a three and half year deal in Jan 2007 - so likely to push his price up with quite a few years left on his contract to about 1 million. Plus i guess it depends on how we're doing - might have clauses depending on if we go up etc.
dog_4 Posted 10 September 2007 Author Posted 10 September 2007 say if we went up? Would fulop n'gotty macualey kisnorbo and a quality left back coming in be good enough for the premiership?
Tommy G Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 say if we went up? Would fulop n'gotty macualey kisnorbo and a quality left back coming in be good enough for the premiership? Let's worry about that IF it happens
Geo V Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 say if we went up? Would fulop n'gotty macualey kisnorbo and a quality left back coming in be good enough for the premiership? All you have to do is look at Sunderland for the answer to your question mate. The idea is to get promoted and then you will be able to attract better quality players to your club. Keane has managed to add some good players once promoted but they wouldn't have been in there financial reach in the Championship. Like others have said, lets get up, hopefully with more signings to help in January and then we can go from there.
Geo V Posted 19 September 2007 Posted 19 September 2007 Big Martin is confident Wooooooooooo!! Shame that Keano doesnt want to sell him though. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11712_2740902,00.html Marton Fulop has told skysports.com that he is confident Leicester will push for promotion this season. The goalkeeper, on loan at The Walkers Stadium from Sunderland, believes everything is in place for Leicester to climb out of the Championship. "Leicester have played many years in the Premier League, their infrastructure is very good and the owner has invested a lot of money into the club," the Hungarian told skysports.com. "Maybe this year, but certainly not later than next year, we'll be promoted again." Fulop admits it was frustrating not to establish himself at either Sunderland or Tottenham, where he was regularly sent out on loan before he was allowed to join The Black Cats on a permanent basis in January. He explained: "I would like to get used to one place. I have changed clubs so many times in order to achieve my goals. Hungary ambition "When Sunderland signed Craig Gordon I went to Roy Keane's office immediately and said that sitting on the bench doesn't motivate me. "I asked him to let me go because playing first-team football is the only way for me to become a regular member of the Hungarian national team. "He said he didn't want to sell me and would only let me out on loan for a year. "Fortunately there were many teams interested me, such as Leicester."
Micky Ruddle Posted 19 September 2007 Posted 19 September 2007 I would say, £750k. Very good keeper, and we should snap him up
Moreton Posted 19 September 2007 Posted 19 September 2007 Yeah.500,000 - 1 Million Yeah around that price, espesialy after his recent performances
Webbo Posted 19 September 2007 Posted 19 September 2007 I would say, £750k. Very good keeper, and we should snap him up If we get him for double that we'll have done well.
Mark Posted 19 September 2007 Posted 19 September 2007 We should pull out all the stops to get him, a keeper the defence feels comfortable with behind them is essential. It'd help if we looked like gaining promotion though, he seems too good to drop down to a league.

Mighty Muzzy Posted 19 September 2007 Posted 19 September 2007 A Leicester legend in the making! Go Hunga-Hunga-Hungary!!!
Bryn Posted 19 September 2007 Posted 19 September 2007 Should be priority, I'd spend a fair amount on him. It's a key position and we may as well just get it nailed.
