Burnsy Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 In the Sun this morning Gary Megson wants to take on Collins John from Fulham. Dont think we need another striker to be honest.
teblin Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 Wouldn't be a bad signing but we need a centre mid.
dandannieldanok Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 Dont think we need another striker to be honest. Wouldn't be a bad signing but we need a centre mid. Agree with both, although I think John would give us the power we are missing up top.
teblin Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 Leicester boss wants to sign Collins John from Fulham on loan. (Various)
Joe. Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 I think I'd take him to be honest. I'm sure he's better thatn Cort so he can't do a lot of harm.
mancunianfox Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 Would be a very good signing. I do think we need quality up front and he is better than Carl Cort.
teblin Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 Him and fryatt up top. Drop hume into a midfielder 3 with clem and weso. Would be decent.
Bojimha Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 I think this is the lad that scored a goal or two against us on his debut a few years ago. I think he would be quite useful but i agree we need a midfielder more!
Ric Flair Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 It would be interesting to see how he'd get on in this league. He's a player I associate natural quality with, he's just lost his way at Fulham. By rights he should be able to score a lot of goals in the Championship. He's got pace, he's strong and he's a decent finisher. We need someone like that, even if we do also need some central midfielders as well. I hope we get him.
The People's Hero Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 He's got a bit of quality but I just don't feel he's what we need. Good to see us being linked with players who have a bit about them though.
mancunianfox Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 He's got a bit of quality but I just don't feel he's what we need.Good to see us being linked with players who have a bit about them though. Striker isn't the priority, but I don't think having him here would be a bad thing. We do need quality and though we have some reasonable strikers we don't really have any quality ones. If we brought him in as well as a more attacking midfielder I would be happy. Having said that, based on the evidence of the second half against Stoke I still think that Hume could fulfill that role if a decent striker was to arrive. Megson obviously rates Fryatt so if John was to come into the squad I'm not sure were Hume would fit in.
Ric Flair Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 We do need a striker though. Just because we've already got 6 or 7, doesn't mean we are well serviced in that department. The stark reality is, most of them are crap and aren't scoring. Collins John Neil Danns Teymourian Those 3 would help sort the lack of quality out here.
The People's Hero Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 Danns is a midfielder, no? Not that I'd say no to a bit of Neil Danns - I like him.

I think he would be quite useful but i agree we need a midfielder more! thats the chap. looked awsome back then and i would say he'd be awsome now. Has good prem experience, and a quality shot on him. Quite some time ago, infact i said we should get him on loan as he wasnt playing at fulham....

Stevosevic Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 http://www.thebluearmy.co.uk/details.asp?b...6269754|p|536|0 Leicester City are using the international break to solve their problem of scoring goals. The defence looks sorted and the midfield is improving, but the search for goals goes on. City boss Gary Megson, now having his first real crack at honing the squad to his own shape, has no doubt where the main aims lie. He said: “We have done okay recently, but I think we could have had a couple more points. The worry is we are not getting what we want from the lads up front. “They are doing well in terms of their work-rate and defensive responsibilities but, not only do we want goals, but for them to get hold of the ball and to link up play. “It is imperative they do that because, without it, we can't get out of our solid shape into a more fluid formation to go on the attack more. “That will take a bit of time. I am sure they are capable of it but it is harder for your forward lads who are all having to work without width as we are playing with wing-backs. “But they are all good lads who work hard and want to do well for the team, and that is a good starting point.†The loan transfer market is still something Megson would not be afraid to use if an answer to his goal-scoring question suddenly offered itself, and there are some irons in the fire. He said: “We are trying to get one or two in, but the ones we are going for, others are trying to sign as well. “We have certain priority positions, which I won't name, but it is always a case of trying to improve the squad. “If some are available who maybe would not be a priority, we would sill have to look at taking that opportunity, otherwise you stand still. “But bringing in players is one thing, bringing in the right ones is another, and operating when the transfer window is closed makes it even harder. And those out on loan are probably better there than here.†* City were today linked with Fulham striker Collins John.
Koke Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 I approve of this. I concur. Kudos to Megson. He knows his targets and the level of quality we need and I trust him to sort out our attacking force.
Kent Fox Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 I approve of this. And I second the concurrment. He'll be a worthy addition to the squad. We clearly need the option of more strikers because ours aren't scoring enough. Or perhaps missing too many..
Geo V Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 He`s a good strong forward but the reason he hasnt made it as yet despite having many attributes is that he cant finish for toffee. Im not sure whether that would help us too much?
Mark Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 He was brilliant a couple of seasons ago for Fulham, and still only 21. Collins, you need this move to get your career back on track.

Im not sure whether that would help us too much? Is that the case? I've seen bits and pieces of him and always thought he's a handful. When talking about his finishing I can't actually picture whether he's good or bad. We don't need another ropey finisher, but is he a player who could score a hatful at this level?
Geo V Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 He was brilliant a couple of seasons ago for Fulham, and still only 21. Collins, you need this move to get your career back on track. He turned down a £3m move to Watford in the summer I seem to remember? I doubt he`d come to us for anything more than a loan but as long as he helps us out thats all that counts. Lets hope he has the same effect that the last big powerful pacy striker had on us when coming in on loan and the last one I can think of was Arsenals Kevin Campbell.
