Carter90 Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 is it just me or is anyone else disappointed by the quality of the new shirts? i bought my new home shirt about 5 weeks ago and it has been washed once and already the King Power Logo is peeling. they Expect me to fork out more money to buy the new Away shirt too.
davieG Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 Take it back otherwise they'll think you're happy with the standard /quality they are offering. Mind you they've nearly always looked tatty and not worthy of the selling price or to be associated with a club of our stature. If it looks shit don't buy it then they'll get the message, on the whole so many footy fans settle for second best.
Stevosevic Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 What temp. did you wash it at? I never wash a football shirt on more than 30, to avoid what has happened to your shirt.
evs_the_fox Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 That is shocking, surely you can return it and get a replacement or refund..? Nice heads up on the (lack of) quality though... hopefully they'll improve them.
m00nie Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 been loads of people saying same.. some put it down to intial batched rushed to get ready.. people was waiting to see if a better batch appeared.. as above though think need to take it back and let them know. more people do it they will think twice in future of releasing shoddy stuff..
Carter90 Posted 7 July 2011 Author Posted 7 July 2011 this is the yellow shirt i got last year. the transfer is cracked but at least it had lasted the year. the name and number on the back is still fine without a scratch. something about the King Power Logo?
FrankieADZ Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 wonder if we'd have got better quality if Adidas made our kits
Spencer Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 Superdry let their tops do this in the wash for that 'distressed' look. Maybe the owners are just fashionable..
KFS Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 Superdry let their tops do this in the wash for that 'distressed' look. Maybe the owners are just fashionable.. Slightly off topic, but my mates white Superdry top is so 'distressed', it's virtually a white top
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 you probably used wrong temperature...it did the same to my yellow away shirt...but no problems with the new one for me is it just me or is anyone else disappointed by the quality of the new shirts? i bought my new home shirt about 5 weeks ago and it has been washed once and already the King Power Logo is peeling. they Expect me to fork out more money to buy the new Away shirt too. You don't need to buy it

Jace Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 all the millions the thai owners are spending on the club to promote the king power name and then when they print the logos on the shirts they wash off anyway not ideal would love this burrda contract to be cancelled and adidas brought in

thybluefox Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 Funnily enough chaps this why they have washing instructions on. Revolutionary.
Jace Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 if you have it on the wrong temperature it can happen....happened to my yellow shirt....would love adidas though brought in deffo im sure loads of football shirts are prone to this, I get mine in a few weeks for my birthday will have to tell my mum to go careful when washing it
Ozwin Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 I always wash new shirts in the sink in case this sort of thing happens. Plus if they run then you avoid ruining other stuff in the wash.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 is it just me or is anyone else disappointed by the quality of the new shirts? i bought my new home shirt about 5 weeks ago and it has been washed once and already the King Power Logo is peeling. they Expect me to fork out more money to buy the new Away shirt too. feedback buddy, the club needs feedback to sort it out
foxyfoxy Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 Hi everyone.............. i have just joined this forum to express my disgust at the quality of the new shirt. On the launch day i purchased 2 full kits for my sons 9 and 11 years old. I have washed the shirts together in the washing machine on a delicate, cold wash, no spin.....always dried on an airer never the tumble dryer. The transfers started to peel on both shirts after only the second wash. I went into the megastore several times last season moaning about the transfers and the shop manager informed me that the transfers "were a bad batch". The only transfer that didnt peel last season was the 3rd away kit. The transfer on that is furry and different material. That shirt still looks like new. This season - The burrda logo has already come off one shirt and one pair of shorts, and peeling transfers. Feel very cheated because my boys are desperate to wear the current shirt.........If its any conselation to anyone out there, the manager in the shop said she can replace the king power logos for free as many times as is needed. Going to see the manager before the Real Madrid game......simply not good enough. Think weve got to go in a kick up a stink. Im going to write an official letter this time i think. Sorry for the grumbles
ajthefox Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 Don't apologise for grumbling, if anything you're helping others out and more should be encouraged to complain about such poor quality. I do want a kit but after all these complaints i'm thinking twice. I shall certainly be going back to the megastore if I buy one and stuff starts falling off after a couple of washes. Welcome to the forum as well
foxyfoxy Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Ah thankyou for that, going to kick up a stink on match day.
