  1. Until we spend 15 million on a striker not as good.
  2. I am thinking the same, why doesnt he have a contract?
  3. Enzo was actually a poor appointment, as more than half of the squad isnt suited for that type of football and we cant afford to build a team for the EPL to play that type of football. More than half of the games I watched in the championship season our players clearly looked uncomfortable playing that way. This meant the team wasnt coached to play the way needed to survive in the EPL. It has also led to a new problem, the fans wont accept a manager who isnt like Enzo.
  4. Why do you think that? what businesses has he built up?
  5. My own take is the owners no longer have the desire (and might not even have the money considering KP's problems) to spend in the club other than to fund PSR losses. Its not hard to come to this conclusion, the man who fell in lvoe with the club passed away, stadium paused (likely stopped, but no balls to say it how it is), they wont even provide the previous level of sponsorship funding, and of course the state of both men and womens teams. PSR is such a great cloud for them, it allows fans to think they want to invest the money but PSR is holding them back.
  6. Hello Top.
  7. Agreed, the fact we had issues with Ward was mostly down to managers picking him, not that we had no other options.
  8. He only seems to comment on football matters in programme notes, extremely cowardly.
  9. He isnt the first manager to have a shite squad and wont be the last.
  10. Ruud is the worst manager in the EPL ever, Probably the 2nd worst manager during my lifetime behind Sousa for me. Ruud has done so bad he is probably done in management once he leaves us. I would even consider Martin an upgrade over him which says a lot.
  11. The owners have lost interest. I dont know why so many are refusing to accept this and are hanging on to the idea they still care.
  12. It is a bit like getting convicted because someone is forecasting you will be found guilty, but not yet found guilty. Also provisions for cross punishment between EPL and EFL. Effectively these are pretty much due to us, as I cant think of any club in recent history that sold players in June to balance the books and escaped breaches based on switching between EPL and EFL. The first change is ridiculous.
  13. Yes they havent ignored you on less important trivial stuff like ticket prices. But they have on this issue as you just confirmed in your post. Can you please explain why the trust decided to "move on"?
  14. It already is, even Pep himself has said its out dated now, and breaks down once you get pressed. I posted in the EPL thread how football is changing. Sadly it doesnt mean Top is in touch with this stuff. There also seems to be a large portion of fans in favour of it, all the talk on here about direct football when it wins it means you lucky, and that slow intricate is the proper way to play the game.
  15. Another post in a different thread I think summed it up well, in short no.
  16. If its not possible then how was most of the EPL with a lower wage bill than us when we got relegated? With a better scouting system we have the luxury of saying no to players who just want too much. Otherwise the tide turns and our desperation makes us over pay. The way forward is a performance incentivised data driven system, which more and more clubs are gradually adopting. A lot is also where the players are recruited from, buy 25+ year old players from the EPL yes salary will be high, buy 20 year old from league one, or French 2nd division you could offer 10k a week and its an increase, 20k a week is like they won the jackpot. Top tier DoF - How is 40k a week. Player - umm Leeds offered me 60k mate, , just wanted to say its a pleasure to meet you. Top tier DoF - Yeah but Leeds dont have my contacts, and they not in the top 5 of the EPL, play for us and within a few years , you will be getting scouted by the giants in world football and I can get you moves there on 200k a week. Here is proof from all of my previous transfers, (lists a bunch of players). So you can be at Leeds for the rest of your career for 60k, or take a few years with us, and be at Real Madrid before you 25. Plus you get to meet me every week if you want if you sign. Player - oh yeah,. where do I sign dude. Agent - I know you had a better offer, but he got **** a move to barca, **** a move to real, *** and *** are both at liverpool, all on triple the money you asking for, its just a few years, keep your head down and play well, he is a magician trust me. Same negotiation Rudkin. Rudkin - Can offer you 100k. Player - Leeds offered me 60k. Who are you by the way. Rudkin - Umm never mind that, 120k , done deal? Player - chill dude, just I never heard of you. Rudkin - dammit!!! slamming the table, why is every player obsessed with my status in the game, is it such a big deal I dont know anyone. Please if you dont mention it again 150k. Player - done. Agent - told you it would work, works every time with this guy, he gets mad when you mention no one knows who he is.
  17. Yes, we learnt young Enzo was gone the moment something else came up, Young Ruud is the worst manager in EPL history and that Forest's manager is older than Farke. So what was that about young again? I would say more like we learnt giving managers their first or second job is a bad idea.
  18. Players do sign these contracts at some clubs, one player came out not that long ago saying he was on same salary as the academy players at man city. We also had a wage structure when we initially got promoted under KP.
  19. I like him, although he is a proven failure at EPL level. We could always copy Leeds strategy though, sack him after promotion.
  20. These are improvements, but I would tie in the low starting standard wage with 6 year deals for young players that come in from a low starting point, likewise players coming from youth team, 6 years. Thats 4 years of playing time on the 2 year transfer rule which increases squad stability and gives an upper hand on wage contract renewals. If the player has proven worth after 2 years they can get an upgraded contract, although these upgraded contracts would follow a rigid wage limit as well e.g. 65k standard per week, and we would cap the amount of players at each level, so once cap is reached, and we want to buff a player, then someone else on that higher level has to leave the club. You are right, our strategy now seems to be due to lack of charisma, and football aura from the DoF, the only way he can get anyone here is a bag of cash. With only 1 or 2 targets, so once those fail we screwed. We dont seem to know how to deal with agents in particular. Logically you give the agent a fat payment, he convinces the player the move is good for him on a low salary. Also outgoing decisions need to change, we seem to have a policy if that the paper value is not met we refuse the offer, which of course is nonsensical. This has led to us holding onto squad players for excessive periods and is contributing to wage bill problems and lack of flexibility in transfer windows. To not even be able to fire a manager to PSR is an embarrassment of financial management. Even when PSR is a threat, any quick witted owner realises that to breach it isnt a big deal, a 2 point deduction, its not even a win.
  21. I have generally been a good boy, but in one job where I knew I was valued, doing work above my pay grade, I noticed if I strolled in late, not a word was said to me and still got paid for the missed time, so was done a fair few times. Sorry if its nothing more glamorous then that but I am no Rudkin.
  22. Potentially, but obviously if its for the better, then its worth dealing with it.
  23. Think I would turn off for the season if its RM, he is Top's ideal type of manager so sadly think its likely, but the brand of football and the bitching at players after a bad result, urrrgh. Of course also if it ever was promotion under him, straight back down as that brand of football is suicidal in the EPL.
  24. We probably need to be, it will ground the owners, directors. Force them to be sensible on wages, and if only promoted after a longer spell, maybe they wont misjudge the squad next time when they thought 17th was beneath the squad quality. As a bonus it could also cause Top out of desperation to sell up.
