  1. Agree, but cant say surprised with how the womens game is being governed.
  2. Stay up this season and immune for a few seasons as there is a proposal to grow the league by keeping promotion with no relegation for a few years.
  3. Where was the protests during the game? didnt see anything.
  4. What are you doing about the current board level problems? Or wont you challenge the club in that area?
  5. Is there anyone here who can post a clear sporting improvement that has happened since the move? I think people like it because they see it as raising our status.
  6. I see it as proof Cooper was sacked for style of play. Results were claimed, under achieving was claimed, yet here we are RVN still in a job.
  7. Absolutely massive regression under RVN, I knew he wouldnt match Cooper, but this is something, now a record of 7 league defeats with no goals. Watched the game, clear defensive coaching issues, and didnt look a threat for the entire game. We gone from Cooper getting too much out of the squad to RVN not getting enough. Gobsmacked he didnt quit as well, no way quitting would damage his rep more than this record. I know longer watch every game as well, which says a lot. I like to see us make an effort to compete, to get in opponents faces, there is too much Enzo mentality instead.
  8. I agree with the OP of course, but another point is we tend to focus on defenders over forward players, when people say we lack quality, they mean in the forward area, as no matter how good you are defending, if you cant score then you cant win games. I have moaned in the past that every summer we always seem to have CB or wing back as priority.
  9. Within 5-10 years we will be to other clubs like we were in the filbert street days, 30k is the new 20k.
  10. I believe in being moral, and not always putting one self first. With that in mind in his shoes I would offer LCFC the first chance to sign, but with the condition being in the first team squad for the season. Add a release clause as well, as clauses are a way to let the player know you wont block them providing valuation is met, so then club gets to profit from the investment put into the academy on the player.
  11. You dont win anything for coming 5th, and winning a league title is over an entire course of the season, far harder than winning the FA cup. Also agree with honeybradger that the side as a whole had a lot more resilience and character to it. Rodgers we would start on fire, but he couldnt sustain it over a season. He could never figure out as well with how to deal with us getting closed down. The counter attacks of our EPL title season were breath taking to watch. Away to man city at their own ground at 3-0 down they were penned back playing two banks of four, was amazing what we had them resorted to, they got a consolation goal only due to their striker been one of the best ever in the EPL.
  12. Its so sad to see. What happened to Doncaster and that clubs were just entered in a high division because of their men club status was just very wrong. It would have been a great platform to implement fixed wage caps, that sort of thing, and to also enforce equal media coverage etc.
  13. Both parties hold blame, the board 100% were wrong to agree to a rebuild, and then only inform Rodgers way too late they were backing out of it, likewise the board are to blame for the financial management. Rodgers holds blame as he kept making blatant mistakes in his decision making, some have suggested it was because he wanted to get sacked for a payoff, its possible, but whatever the reason his final 18 months or so was really bad. The not lose the ball mantra had got way too far, including laying into his team on a first half performance that had them 3-0 up. I think with Kasper there, and Soyuncu in the team, probably would have been mid table or lower mid table, not relegated.
  14. I propose threads being merged.
  15. Our fans need to get over the style of football thing, it has absolutely no place right now. Also the young European manager wish list as well.
  16. There is so many at this point. One's that seem to stand out in my head. Repeated failures on selling squad players when offers were made. (this seems largely down to an obsession with trying to meet paper value of player). Letting Kasper go when he was an important squad member. Stuck in no mans land on PSR and squad spend. Typically clubs either comfortably meet their spending limits and are managed well in this regard, so have head room for busy windows and so forth, or you break it with passion, and make sure the squad is good enough to outdo a points penalty. Instead we self imposed a transfer embargo, and told our manager who wanted a mass rebuild at the last minute we wouldnt be spending in a window. We then kept that manager who clearly was managing a squad of players he wasnt happy with and results and play had gone down the drain. Insisting on a certain style of football, playing to fans wanting the same as well. Failing to recognise we need a proper footballing director, someone who actually has contacts and has a proper football CV outside of the club. Failing to expand the stadium. Allowing for a regime where 2 people have control over most decisions, and both arent really qualified to do so. Allowing for a regime where players can bypass the manager and ring up the owner. Continuous issuing of over generous of contracts. Failing to put world class staff at Seagrave, which I assume the intention was for it to be a world class training facility. Failing to communicate their road map for the club to the fan base, which has contributed to the current discontent. No signs of a proper squad build plan, and rather signings are kind of panic reaction type purchases. No proper integration of youth team setup with first team. Not realising what we had going for us with the sports science and scouting setup we previously had. Some of these show clear signs of confused long term planning (or lack of it), clear signs of indecisive leadership, a fair few of these are related to the DoF problem, football ideology becoming too ingrained in decision making, and trying to apply economical decision making where it is not appropriate. There is also a clear identity problem, the contracts given out and building of seagrave is a sign we think we are elite, but then the refusal to break PSR, and the low calibre of players and coaches being signed shows we becoming more like stoke. Rooney will be a future manager for us, which is when I think many supporters will start to realise Top is a problem.
  17. Some of us think Cooper over achieved, so we definitely believed things could get much worse. However after the first game I think there was a chance Ruud wouldnt be obsessed with playing out from the back etc but sadly it did happen, and so we now getting the form and results I expected for if we had kept hold of Enzo. Luckily we at least had a pragmatic manager at the start of the season which means we wont finish rock bottom and beat Derby's low points total.
  18. Is this a joke? feels a bit like you covering your ears on much bigger issues at hand.
  19. He will if we make him feel unwelcome and uncomfortable, as horrible as that sounds it is what is needed.
  20. To be fair we dont like it when other clubs sack Pearson, for them he did great and they think the sacking was harsh, the thing is most neutrals think the sacking was odd. Including our ex manager MoN. Cooper wasnt necessarily a good manager for a club wanting to progress beyond survival, but he is a better choice than managers who are not prepared to play in a way for results rather than pretty football when every point matters.
  21. Thanks Cooper for getting us over the Derby points total and enough points so we dont finish rock bottom.
  22. That would be the plan yeah, that can be milked for silly money, combined with higher ticket sales, then it subsidises lower match day prices for the masses
  23. Since we have a million Ruud threads. https://www.foxestalk.co.uk/topic/136125-ruud-van-nistelrooy-new-manager-official/page/250/#findComment-7694112 https://www.foxestalk.co.uk/topic/136125-ruud-van-nistelrooy-new-manager-official/page/250/#findComment-7694113
  24. Whats ironic is when he sacked Cooper he said he did it early to learn from Rodgers, but then he isnt being consistent here. People also justified it because of way we playing as supposedly a reason. But the facts are we went from a very long run of games of scoring every game and being in almost every game (even though many didnt like the football), to this now where its just embarrassing, and we cant even score anymore. Another thing I noticed is defensively we look way less organised, and people thought it was bad before. We back to how we we looked under Enzo struggling to score from slow paced buildups.
