There's been many, maybe thousands of posts on SM saying much the same.
There's also loads complaining that it was "slow" and "boring" with no outcome or ending. People who wanted to see a court case.
They seem to have missed the point completely. The "ending" was at the beginning. It is not a crime drama. It's about the impact of SM, school experiences and bullying, dysfunctional families, toxic masculinity and misogyny and the effects on the family of he who committed the crime, of which there is no ending.
I'm going to watch it again because there are many subtle nuances that I have likely missed.
PS. the boy at the centre of this, Owen Cooper, this was his first ever acting role.
The song Through The Eyes Of A Child, which played at the end, was sung by Emilia Holliday who played Katie, the victim.
