  1. There’s a big difference. one worked under the best coach of the last 20 years and was very highly rated on his knowledge and coaching. He was unknown as club manager but you can’t call someone who was part of a team that just won the treble “lacking experience” he had plenty of experience, just a different type of experience. Cleverley has been thrown in as a stop gap, as he knew the club well and probably some of the personalities. He’s not made drastic changes, applied a new style and built a club up. He’s essentially maintained the path they were on. Tbqh half of our squad have more experience of success than him and I think this would be a horrible decision. He might make a fantastic coach one day and your gut feeling could be right but he’s simply not done anything at this stage that should even have him in contention. If you are giving an unknown explayer a chance because they have the right potential, imo this has to be done on one of your own, that you know well and they know you well (He wasn’t with us long enough). We have far too much at stake this season for a gamble of this magnitude. we just took a similar gamble on rvn, which is far more comparable and this has gone horribly for us.
  2. Yep I whacked a bet on that. Not because I think we will but at those prices it’s well worth a pop because with the right bits of business of course we’d be in contention. With a 6 point penalty you only need to beat you closest rival twice and the gaps gone
  3. I’m fairly certain he was mentally sacked before we were even relegated. They are waiting until his wage legally drops on relegation so that the pay off is reduced to that level. I’m certain of it and in fairness, of course they should do that and they wouldn’t be in a place to publicly comment on it. If they sacked him a day earlier he’d take us to court asking for his current wage over the remainder of his contract
  4. With Jakob seemingly ready to play, it is just an area we can make money but not be heavily effected by. It will be a huge problem if we can’t get what we expect for him as the knock on effect will be selling players we actually need to keep for example someone like Nelson
  5. Great time to get all the tea on the club I met a youth player who had just left us on holiday once and he wouldn’t shut up about how god awful our academy set up was
  6. Shame they won the Europa league or it probably would have been a slight possibility. He’d be great in the championship. I still think his style albeit reckless, would have a better chance of prem survival than possession based when you lineup with a worse squad every week.
  7. There’s rumblings that Wolves are keen on El Khanous
  8. People seem to forget that if our ownership acted the same way with Claudio as they did with BR then we may have been relegated after winning the league and have tarnished him as well. Our ownership didn’t take the appropriate action with Brendan and it didn’t play out how he wanted it to… I’m certain he would have been flabbergasted not to have been sacked after the Brighton or spurs games. He ‘quiet’ quit very publicly and we were too dumb to do anything about it… I think the same has happened with Ruud as well tbqh
  9. The first half of the season I got genuine early mahrez vibes from him. I think he would have flourished in a good team. Im still sure he will go right to the top of the game
  10. If you think back to last summer, we had strong rumours for cooper then it went quiet and after a while the media started guessing it wasn’t happening, so threw out other names and we all thought we were safe. but the reality, is that we are just so slow. This is the same space, we will get a bit of hope because of guess merchants and then it will end up being RM
  11. I’d be chuffed to have Powell back. Someone who saw the good being done at the club
  12. People are struggling with the word ‘based’ today
  13. We do have scouts placed out there, which is why we get these links but I genuinely don’t think Rudkin knows how to deal with these clubs. Our wait around strategy and last minute deals don’t work. You won’t get a top prospect if you make them wait around
  14. 3rd times the charm?
  15. Don’t worry we’ll sell him so we can continue being negative
  16. ahh the token Sourh American we get excited about but never joins is here
  17. Don’t think theres any chance of that tbh. His reputations piss poor in the footballing community.
  18. I’m always worried you get a gerrard situation when you get a manager without their highly regarded number 2.
  19. I certainly lean more towards KP out than Rudkin out at this point. purely because they aren’t taking any action and there’s just such nonchalance to the way we are being run. I had a feeling this summer there would be a move to keep Rudkin employed but alter his role at the club. An everyone wins type of scenario and can’t help but feel let down that they don’t care enough to demand improvements. it really feels like Top doesn’t know how serious our situation is.
  20. The more I think about it, the more I think we need to do an afc Wimbledon. Create a club in the lower levels and start to rebuild. these heavy interest loans could put the most financially literate clubs out of business and I’m genuinely terrified that sooner or later we aren’t going to be able to pay one off. We gamble on a future mega sale or getting promoted, both may not come along for a long while. Leicester Fosse climbing the lower leagues. Fan owned and built around sustainability. Pints in the terraces and the fan experience is everything.
  21. Utterly sickening. It’s not one of those that the fans thought was a good idea at the time either. This season more than others on memory, I’d say our fans were more right than wrong on the opinions of our transfers. Basically we thought everyone was terrible except for bilal and facundo who ended up alright
  22. It’s getting a bit disrespectful to hold onto him like this. Seems very odd that it wouldn’t have been announced that he’s gone already. We can’t keep him in the role until we make a decision that will be months and is just an all round odd move
  23. If he was, surely we’d have shipped Ruud and given him a caretaker role to see what improvements there would be.
  24. Maybe I’m being petty but it really winds me up that he’s put our logo on his polo teams shirts.
