  1. So people should just not go? Your tactic is totally fair and sensible when it comes to general consumerism. Unfortunately, football is not that. It's a lifelong emotional bond for most people that is as significant to them as all but the very most important things in life (family). Yes, it's changed and it's financially driven but as a fan, you should never be in a position where you are having to make a moral stand when it comes to supporting your football club (and effectively having to deny a part of who you are)
  2. The real issue is the membership system. As somebody who lives 3-4 hours away my man hope is to get some London/southern games away but even with the ballot, you're getting a pathetic percentage, and just a chance at tickets. But equally, if you're a season ticket holder, you should be rewarded for that and have access to tickets so it's a very tricky situation. Where the club have messed up is that loyalty should be allocated to ongoing memberships and season tickets rather than just points earned from buying tickets. Can't take into to account everyone's personal circumstances but if somebody has a membership for 10 years and only makes 1 game (so effectively paid £60-70 a ticket at minimum) they'll end up being worse off than somebody who's had a membership (or even a season ticket) for a much shorter time just because they've accumulated a few extra points.
  3. He's quick for a cm at PL level, let alone this level. His physicality is what means he's got a long term PL career, but if he can keep up this added level of quality/composure, that'll be what gets him a career further at the top end of the PL.
  4. Attitude was poor after the second goal. Slowed it down way too much and looked like they weren't that bothered
  5. Stunning finish from Wilf
  6. We've had a 5/10 min breather so now's the time to up the tempo again for 10 mins
  7. Who'd have thought Daka would score goals at this level...
  8. Last 5 mins were so much better. Even the sideways passing was with some oomph and tempo. But we're seeing the limitations again of the system. Fatawu is on fire so we need to get Ricardo further out on that side to either allow Ndidi to run beyond or just free up some space for Abdul.
  9. Fattawu is so good. Things go right for him, he could be playing for anyone he wants
  10. And then he didn't win the header (albeit difficult but he had to atone for his mistake)
  11. Absolutely shite from Vestergaard. Brainless pass
  12. I'm not taking away from the others. All good players who peaked at the right time and were superb in that system. Couldn't have won it without any of them, especially Vardy or Mahrez. But he's the only player I've seen, where it took literally 5 mins for me to see just how freakishly good he was and that was from a couple of tackles! Then watched him for France in the Euros that summer and couldn't believe we had the best midfielder in the world playing for us (for about 2 more days ha). It's of course a massive over simplification to say that we were crap because he left, given the other factors at play. But if you are simplifying it, look at our position before and after he left, look at Chelsea's before he came and then when he arrived. Look at what he did to the likes of Drinkwater, Matic and Jorginho. So much worse without him. He's won the PL, CL and the world cup as a key player in all those teams. I wasn't, and I don't think others are, trying to say that we only won the PL because of him because there were so many collosal performances in there. But that doesn't mean he wasn't irreplaceable. I've never seen a player do what he did and haven't since. If you were Chelsea and had the ability to replace any of our other players from that team, you could find an adequate replacement. But not for Kante.
  13. Took 5 mins of him coming on against Bournemouth and winning the ball in a way I'd never seen before. At his peak, and used properly (i.e. not as a holding midfielder because anybody who describes him as that has never seen him play or they just don't understand football), he's by far and away the best player I've seen play for us. I'm quite liberal in my use of world class but Vardy, Mahrez and Ricardo are players I'd have called world class at their best, but Kante was on another level. Transformed us and look at what he did to Chelsea. If it wasn't for injuries and maybe a bit more time, he'd probably be in the conversation for best ever PL midfielder such was his effect on his team.
  14. If we had already invested, attendances would have probs been maxed out every week in the PL so even by dropping down for a few seasons, we'd likely still see 30k because of the backlog of demand. Not to mention that this is a regeneration project essentially so there's a lot of potential of other income on site including the hotel and arena. It should start bringing in the money.
  15. Disappointing no Tawanda because he's another one who's development we've stunted but great to Nelson get on
  16. That's one of the best goals we've scored in years... Route one yes, but it was actually smart positional rotation that lead to it
  17. It will be similar. I think every other trailer for other games they've made have had the same wow factor and then looked the same (with the odd gremlin) in game. Really thought it would be out next year though. I'm thinking Feb 2025
  18. Had him on FM and was decent. Sold to Real Madrid for £60m as he wasn't good enough for me in the end. Sure it'll pan out like that in real life
  19. I'm like that with every game. A few days off and I struggle to get back into it. Think that's the problem with such massive games these days, you need the time to play long sessions to properly enjoy them.
  20. Had he? He'd been pretty anonymous and no debate he was very ineffective but that tells you it was the system. Not that it completely excuses him but if he barely touches the ball, as a player who drops deep to pick it up, says a lot about how we were playing. Lovely link up play with Ndidi just before the goal too but nothing much else of note (good or bad). Reckon Vards would have had about 3 touches all game. Maresca has got to look at that when you've got 2 lads who should score for fun at this level
  21. So negative. Unwilling to chase a game
  22. Yeah, completely cost us here
  23. Unbelievable from Wild bearing in mind he just had to bust a gut a min before
