  1. The stadium deal was criminal. It had to be used and couldn't sit empty, but West Ham have taken the government to the cleaners. Some definite back handers going on. Rumour has it the lease is worded such that the tax payer funds the staff refreshments. I'm not sure how true that is.
  2. Always happy to take a few games. Dm me a list if you get chance!
  3. Three players in our team from the #1 International team in the world. Absurd.
  4. On the same day Arsenal Women beat West Ham 9-1. There's a huge gulf between the men's and the women's game despite the media trying to beat that drum.
  5. It's not splitting hairs it's being accurate.
  6. Yes I have heard of apartheid. The cricket selection was, for a period, based as much on race as ability in order to be 'representative' and there isn't a lot about that that sits comfortably. But then I'm no expert on South African race relations and this isn't the place for that discussion.
  7. What particular point are you driving at? The South African cricket team selection process? No. I don't agree with it.
  8. Oh I ENTIRELY agree that black lives matter. But this isn't just about parity between races. It's snowballed into a political movement and the entire tenet of sports, locally and internationally, should be apolitical.
  9. They shouldn't be. Sports should be free of political discourse, really. Especially they shouldn't be promoting a group whom, in the UK, are borderline fringe activists. Sky are aligning themselves with a group whose UK chapter have been publicly supportive of an anti semitic regime. This ****ing about with the 'taking a knee' - meaningless gesture politics for the most of them - is already becoming a farce.
  10. No doubt the two have been semantically linked from higher education offering less of a range of doctoral programmes and as a result the general public only getting exposed to medical doctors with any frequency. It must be Infuriating to be like DR and have your qualifications dismissed entirely out of hand as not a real doctor. Especially considering he's a doctor of a form of medical practice, too.
  11. If he has a PHd then he is an ACTUAL doctor. Physicians at Hospital haven't got the title doctor ring fenced. Anyone with a PHd is s doctor. The title Dr is awarded thorough completion of a doctoral programme and isn't unique to medicine.
  12. Underrated civil service, the education system. Publicly derided and chastised without any second thought, in most quarters.
  13. Doesn't mention any regret about leaving us but does touch upon the fact he wanted out. I don't think he realises that, as a club and entity, we were perhaps a solution to a lot of his personal problems. In employment context and situation plays a huge part in success and Danny Drinkwater is discovering that at a great price. I feel bad for him.
  14. I should clarify. Accessible if you're in that country. They're not ring fenced or financially ridiculous. But getting to the countries he is in might be an issue.
  15. Bourdain does travel right. No schticky jokes that you can see from the top of the show and visits genuinely accessible attractions. Not a huge fan of Ayoade to be honest. A lot of it is sneering and condescending under the guise of 'lol nerd' type humour.
  16. https://www.google.com/search?safe=strict&rlz=1C1CHBD_en-GBGB918GB918&ei=VLJYX9uuIMPXkwWE9KzIBg&q=matt+hancock+too+many+tests&oq=matt+hancock+too+many+tests&gs_lcp=CgZwc3ktYWIQAzoICAAQsQMQgwE6AggAOggIIRAWEB0QHjoFCCEQoAFQtmFYwWxgh25oAHAAeACAAYQBiAGPB5IBBDEyLjGYAQCgAQGqAQdnd3Mtd2l6wAEB&sclient=psy-ab&ved=0ahUKEwjbqOm48tvrAhXD66QKHQQ6C2kQ4dUDCA0&uact=5 Here, have a mutltude of links to it. People get shirty if you don't provide their preferred news provider but everyone is reporting this shambles.
  17. Matt Hankcock suggesting the testing shortage isn't owing to a lack of tests - it's because the tests are being taken by those who don't need them. I'm not even sure how to digest this sensibly. Are people supposed to know they're negative without the test? Who 'needs' a test other than those with symptoms, surely they're not doing it for fun.
  18. Those gigantic waves in Portugal that are over 100ft high. I've seen the videos and still have trouble comprehending their size.
  19. I'm really ****ing tired
  20. Agreed. More to the point its the basis stories and murmurings from the camp that something is going on. Tanner commenting on the shambles. It all adds up. Without any concrete proof it all feels a bit as though something stinks.
  21. Which is all fine until the inevitable back-track of 'well, we said that they had a smaller percentage...we said there are less of them...we never denied they spread it...we have always said small children are effective vectors of transmission for the disease'.
