McAteer seems terrified to go forward and attack sometimes. I really find that odd for a winger.
-
Whilst there might be some of that going on that's not what the problem is. We've not no fluidity in midfield.

Choudhury off and Bouanotte on at half time.
-
Choudhury off the pace and dangerous for them.

Currently having it with Amazon. A parcel hasn't arrived and I've challenged it. I left instructions not to leave it on the street as it'll get nicked and, low and behold, that's happened. Even though they left it out on the street they're refusing to refund because they want me to send in my 'governmental ID' for my safety. They're incredibly sorry for the inconvenience caused and really want to help me. But they also desperately require I send my ID. They're really sorry.

Large companies are ****ing *****. It's the false platitudes and faux niceness. 'Thank you so much for contacting us we really value your precious time' whilst I'm trying to get them to honor a contract. Corporatism is the worst affliction capitalism has thrust onto us.

How sad this is. Not necessarily that it's being held there per se - football is global after all - but the depressing chicanery that FIFA went through to ring fence it and bank the grubby money. Cynical selection of a multi national tournament omitting the Middle East and Oceania meaning the next tournament had to be there and then opening tender for 25 days. Amazingly the Saudis just happened to have a fully specced bid in that time. People pointed at Blatter as the black soul of FIFA corruption but the entire shithouse is infested with rats. Still reeling from the egregious human rights abuses that accented Qatar they're ring fencing the tournament for a country who will likely show less tolerance and compassion.

They'd all have anxiety and need emotional support snails with them nowadays.

Yeah - it was in an interview with Maresca somewhere. I'm not going to spend countless hours looking for it but it was made clear that he didn't feel he should play in the championship despite being, not one of, but THE standout garbage player and contributing to our relegation. Speaks to the character and integrity of the man.

He's had four good performances. The rest of the time he's been worse than poor and he deemed it beneath himself to play in the Championship. He's not got any credit in the bank and is heavily overdrawn.

I'm not one for conspiracies - though I do like to indulge in fancy for amusement. I'm staggered with loads of elements of this that seem 'just so' about the whole process of this guy getting caught. It's certainly interesting and that recent picture of him in his cell does have me wandering about it all. Seems all a bit contrived.

Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official

We're defending as suspectly as we have all season. The big difference that I can see is that we look to actually progress with the ball and this takes so much pressure off an ailing defence. It's as though using your assets effectively has a positive impact on the outcome. Cooper approached every game like he was managing Coalville Town at this level - ****ing hell, Walsall in the cup. If we can hang on to a draw I'll be delighted. -
This ****ing prison in Syria. We haven't heard the fullest of this. It's going to be gruesome and brutal.

I've gone from thinking he's a signing in the mould of Ghezal to thinking he might be able to do a job in the top flight.

Ahh fair enough.

I don't know if this is the right area for posting but - has anyone else noticed a gigantic influx of foreign fans recently? There has been a decided uptick recently. Today we had a French 'fan' who attended next to us for only half the game. He was over collecting Premier League grounds, I guess, and saw enough in the forty five minutes to collect it. There are lots of Asian fans taking an interest, too. I've no problem with this at all but I've got to question how they're getting tickets. For some members of my family it's a real mission getting a ticket and the membership scheme makes it even more costly. How are fans from abroad getting the priority points to make visits viable. The club, surely, aren't putting overseas visitors priority over it's own members is it?

It's amazing how many people need to leave 5 minutes early on a Wednesday night at 9.35 have another totally unavoidable commitment on Sunday that requires them to leave at 3.45.

Someone pulled out last minute?

Remember when fans went nuts over the idea of a super League and the football media gushed over how much sway the fans held. Look at the state of this 2/3 years on. A 'new format' champions League and plans to examine the coefficients that guide membership and this pile of Americanized crap. Make no mistake - the decision to hold it state side is a pointed and strategic one. It is another way point to getting the FA's desired 39th game. I said it at the time - those protests were way too weak; fans allowed themselves to be placated far too easily. There should have been genuine destruction and disruption over weeks.

Because it is funny.

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2024/dec/07/everton-australia-fan-merseyside-derby-dream-dashed-after-flying-in-liverpool?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other Laughed like a ****ing drain about this.

It's things like coming out in the press and poo pooing pragmatism like it's some kind of all encompassing theory and he's this enlightened thinker. Really, it's a process of operating that looks at successful application OF theory to get the job done. He's literally poo-pooing thinking about what could be successful.

Great win, on reflection. The team needed that. A game where we were battered but won convincingly. Gonna go a long way over the course of the season stuff like that.
-
I just don't think he's good enough. I'm not saying anything other than that. Good enough; not enough.
