Has to be permanent at this point, massively failed experiment. Get that Finnish lad in to replace Okoli, I can’t physically imagine any worse for our system
-
Think it’s that Braybrooke role in the team, and I think for good or bad he sees Hamza as the alternate there for the defensive work. This one is going to be the hardest for me to get past with Martin, it better work out favourably because selling an 18 year old because he doesn’t currently fit the team would be incredibly short sighted when the manager is brand new and comes with this much baggage. 100% convinced we still don’t have our starting 6 for the season unless we bring in a heap, in which case it will be Skipp for sure until Martin goes

Aluko, Him, Souttar and McFarlane must be one of the bigger backlines ever
-
Stolarczyk(if he performs start him in the league) Aluko Okoli Gray McFarlane Choudhury Page Cullen Howell Watson Bristric (first 60 then I guess Cullen up top and anyone but Reid in midfield) Want to see some of the squad options and see if we have anything we can use for the first team. I would have Neale/Hutchinson/De Lisle on the bench

Summer 26 Transfer rumours 'X' and other Weak Links
LCFCCKEANO replied to davieG's topic in Transfer Talk
This next week is do or die, if we come out with a decent experience cb and a good youngster, another striker and a cdm that is athletic and can pass and we are good, if we end up with a string of Cullen/Chaplin type experienced pro signings I will worry -
Think his future here is as a rotational striker/AM as back up, get a faster striker in and he can come on up top situationally or for Chaplin in a bind, although I think one of Alves/Howell end up in that role
-
Only defensive player who can take any credit from yesterday, think we need to see how McFarlane is and if he isn’t good enough go Aluko at LB and JJ at RB

Wes Burns signs for Leicester until 2029 - Official

Good issue to have is him, Alves and Howell all look above the level, with Watson I don’t want to pass judgement on too early. -
Russell Martin - Confirmed as First Team Manager
LCFCCKEANO replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Think this is what annoys me most, and what I hoped was being resolved by the different types of wingers we were signing. The complete unwillingness to change the shape based on our players. I really hope today was just an early part of the season ‘who is good enough’ sort of game but now we need Martin to show he is a higher level manager by changing things -

Thought the attacking group were not abysmal just looked like they were getting used to one another, defensively catastrophic, please sign a pair of centre halves and a cdm, get a striker on loan and be done with it -

Okoli and Thomas have to be gone, Souttar and McCarthy need to get a grip, Skipp needs selling, that was either a terrible decision or a white flag today. We need a defensive midfielder who can play on the ball and we can’t move Braybrooke because he is way too important going forward -

Think it’ll be McCarthy Joseph Okoli Souttar Thomas Skipp Braybrooke Chaplin Burns Cullen Alves I would want Howell for Burns, Bristric for Cullen and McFarlane or Aluko for Thomas but that side should be enough for a win -

De Lisle looks very lively, defensively fairly solid but the classic over passing it seems to have spread down. Golding has been invisible -
Summer 26 Transfer rumours 'X' and other Weak Links
LCFCCKEANO replied to davieG's topic in Transfer Talk
I don’t think Souttar is going anywhere, Faes will get a move and it’ll depend on if we can bring in two centre backs for the money as to whether we then let Okoli leave -
Martin said on the weekend we had nothing in the offing, think we are still waiting to shift another player or two before our next wave of new players

McCarthy Joseph Okoli Souttar McFarlane(realistically Thomas) Skipp Braybrooke Chaplin Howell Bristric Alves They will most likely sit in deep so feel like Howell and Alves give us the technical ability/creativity, Burns and Watson later on if we get ahead to get in behind and support the full backs -
Summer 26 Transfer rumours 'X' and other Weak Links
LCFCCKEANO replied to davieG's topic in Transfer Talk
Most likely not but why not put some money down and see, he’d be a guaranteed starter in a ball playing side that should dominate games. If you’re looking to build a reputation choosing a team higher up the pyramid may not benefit him and his next contract is pretty massive at his age. Our record with selling on talent and our facilities I could see being a big bonus as well -

Just seen Jadel Katongo got released by his Turkish side, was at Man City previously and interest from the championship, centre back, 21, good on the ball and he would immediately start for us, surely worth a try unless we are talking your top 6 championship sides -
Stephy Mavididi (loaned to Watford, official)
LCFCCKEANO replied to moore_94's topic in Transfer Talk
Think he was helped massively in the Enzo year having Dewsbury-Hall and Ndidi flying past him and making space for him. Think he has been found out a bit without that support, but if he goes somewhere who would give that he’d do a job in the championship, I’m sure -
Watford are after two quick centre half signings, reporter said one will come from Man City, they’re the sort of club I could see putting a few million down on Faes
-
Think the colours and name of the club are non-negotiable, but I really would not care if we played at the Red Bull Stadium with red bull branding around, honestly prefer soulless adverts to the club being a weird Thai/King power cult for the stadium and the kit. Would also mean we’d be able to use the other red bull sides as crutches to get us back to the prem, and then potentially as feeders. Having said all of that I really do not see red bull buying the club

Summer 26 Transfer rumours 'X' and other Weak Links
LCFCCKEANO replied to davieG's topic in Transfer Talk
I’ve been praying John Souttar was just a lazy link, god if we sign him it’s time to pack it in, and Martin talking about experience makes it too believable -
Thought his biggest issue today weee the subs, was pretty clear at half time that BDCR was not working up front, and so our dominant spell ended with him missing two sitters. To not sub him off at half time is weird, to not bring him off until we are actively under the cosh is what has brought us to this point, allowing teams to pile on to us. It was very telling after we went a goal up we stopped even trying to get after them, which is really disappointing as I thought the one positive to a purist is that they don’t stop playing their football, but we absolutely did. Really really disappointing to see how we responded to getting our goal. The senior leaders let us down today. I have said what I have said regarding that back line but they were collectively woeful which we can all agree on, and yet our most expensive unit. Really thought this was the turning point and now ims starting to think there may not be one in time for us

Thought Okoli/McCarthy/Thomas around him looked aggressively poor, cruyff turn was ugly but that aside he won a good amount of aerial duels, used to play centre back and it’s hard not to look crap if the three players around you are bomb scares -

Cullen, Reid and Thomas both at the standard we need based purely on today. Alves, Braybrooke, Joseph all very good, thought Souttar/Burns/Watson didn’t do much wrong. McCarthy is going to cost a fair few goals this year
