  1. Yeh let's play our injury prone best player 2 games in 4 days, what could possibly go wrong? As much as Vestergaard and Faes aren't well liked, they are still our best centre backs and are 2 of the best in this league. BDCR is clearly well liked by Marti and has a very good record at this level. By all means criticise after the game if we don't win but I honestly don't see much wrong. We can't play the same team twice a week all season, we need to use the squad, whether you like them or not
  2. We can't afford not to go up. If we don't go up this year, it won't be a case of rebuilding and going up next year. We will be down here for many years if we don't go up this season.
  3. Most of these players were in the squad when we walked the championship 2 years ago. Not good enough for the prem doesn't make you not good enough for the championship
  4. The championship is a poor league and on paper, we should be near the top. A lot of ifs buts and maybes
  5. @splinterdream you asked me in the match thread "what are we" when I said WBA are a poor side. I went to reply to you but the thread got closed. My answer is, we are also a poor side! Should we be? Absolutely not! This league is atrocious but Marti needs to sort our attacking play out very soon or it will be a long, horrible season. A draw away to WBA isn't awful but our performances in general do not inspire any hope that we will have a good season.
  6. Yep. They are a poor side
  7. Bad news if we lose this, WBA are a poor side!
  8. I suppose that all depends on how desperate we are financially but as a previous poster said, the cost of not getting promoted would massively outweigh any fee we could get for Fatawu. I don't think we'll sell him cheap unless he kicked up a fuss but he doesn't seem the type to do that.
  9. I'd imagine there will be interest, just depends if anyone is willing to pay what we'd want. He doesn't seem the type that would kick off or force a move so I think it would have to be a chunky fee for us to sell him. I personally think he's better than Dibling who went for around £40m so I think it would need to be above that, especially when you add in the January tax. We'd also need a very good replacement lined up as we lose all our attacking threat without Fatawu.
  10. Oh 100% I'd never compare him to Mahrez just like I'd never compare anyone to Vardy or Kante. Them 3 were genuine world class players, not something we get very often at LCFC. Mahrez didn't come good though until his mid twenties so you could argue Fatawu is better than Mahrez was at the same age.
  11. As well as his poor miss and his overall poor performances from an attacking viewpoint, he's also not great defensively and often leaves Thomas exposed. The commentators against Cov pointed out a few times where he switched off and lost his runner. Whilst we'd always want Fatawu and Mavididi to focus on their attacking game, they do still have defensive duties to fulfill, especially as our centre midfielders are as mobile as a milk float. I'd be tempted to play Hamza alongside Winks as he could cover more ground defensively than Soumare and Skipp which could mean Mavi and Fats can focus more at the top end of the field.
  12. For natural ability, other than Mahrez, he's genuinely one of the best players we've had. He doesn't have the same ball control Mahrez had but probably has a bit more pace than Mahrez. Flair players like him will make mistakes, bad passes etc, even Mahrez had some honking games for us but they make up for it with the one moment of class they can pluck out of nowhere in a game. I think many forget how young Fatawu still is. I personally wouldn't get too hung up on his mistakes and enjoy him while he's here, as he won't be here long term.
  13. Some over reactions here. We were massively the better side and Marti can't be blamed for bad finishing.
  14. 2 points dropped, should have won comfortably. The sky dubbed "entertainers" offered nothing. 1st half crap 45-75 good 75+ crap. Should have won 2/3-0, the mavididi miss was an absolute crime! Something is missing, as if it clicks we'll start to hammer teams but we just aren't clinical enough. Ayew is not the answer as the 9.
  15. Get mavididi off now!
  16. Yep. Not comparing anyone to Vardy ability wise, but tactically wise, Vardy was always the furthest forward player, always in the box waiting to pounce and always an out ball option and giving defenders something to think about. Ayew does none of this and drops too deep/wide meaning when the wingers are looking for a cross, there is nobody in the box. He's not got the pace to get in behind so against teams like cov, that won't park the bus, he offers nothing.
  17. Riots when it's 0-0 with 20 mins left and he brings on BDCR and not Monga
  18. For me, Ayew could be alright against teams that will park the bus but better teams like Cov that will give it a go and won't have their defensive line on the edge of their own box, we need an option to be able to get in behind them. Their central defenders are having it easy, it's only dasilva that's having a tough time against Fatawu
  19. Our set pieces have been bobins. They've conceded so 4 from set pieces in 5 games and we haven't even tested them. Shite!
  20. Ayew needs to come off, he's offering nothing. We have no outball with him in the team, and add in the fact he won't pass and falls over a lot, it just isn't working.
  21. We can all speculate about who should/shouldn't play/be in the squad but we need to have faith in Marti until he gives us reason not to. Arguably our toughest game of the season so far and he's picked close to our strongest side.
  22. I think Soumare is in there because of his incredible work rate 🤔
  23. True. Still don't think Ayew is anywhere near as bad as many on here say he is
  24. Yeh im not sure why Ayew gets so much stick. We can slate the recruitment team for signing him, BDCR, Skipp etc but whilst they are here, pointless keep slagging them, especially Ayew who is decent. He has his faults and often holds on to the ball too long or shoots instead of passes but he works hard and does alot of donkey work. As another poster said, he'd be a pain in the arse if he was playing against us. His best days are definitely behind him but he's more than good enough at this level, would just be good to use him as the 10 instead of 9 if Carranza can be decent for us. The fact Ayew has started every single game shows that Marti rates him and he will play alot this season. As for BDCR, Marti seems to like him and I'll go with his judgement until he gives me reason not to.
  25. It's not a red. You're very much in the minority if you believe it is. I've got mates that all support different clubs and they are all agreed it was never a red. It wasn't high, it was just mistimed. These kind of tackles happen every week and only 1 in 100 would see a red. Hideous decision and the precedent got set early on with his weak yellow for soumare. Pathetic ref that has no business at this level of football. I'll be amazed if the club don't appeal it.
