Flat predictable, ineffective in attack, and a striker with no service. Lacked any sort of quality or urgency in attack, and Chilwell on the goal, why let him go down the line, should have offered him inside, not a great crossing position.
-
Don’t even look like scoring at present, should have brought a winger in the window, Barnes, gray and albrighton are not up to it.
-
Why does he beat his man, has the pace to beat him down the line, and get the ball in the box, to constantly not get his head up, but just pulls the ball up, and look at a backwards pass.
-
My earlier post was my attempt at sarcasm, James has been well looked after, he will never have to work again when he retires, and after looking promising early in his career, he is a liability due to his injuries, he shouldn’t get a squad number next season, as I’d put money on him gettting injured before the end of his contract. Nothing against James, not bothered wether he’s championship level or not, for his long time health I hope he hangs up his boots at the end of the season, and concentrate’s on coaching roles here or elsewhere
-
Is he out of contract in the summer, I’d give him a contract extension, where did his time go with us, what’s it been 7 years 🤔

Well we have known Matty James is for years 😂 -
Perfectly good tackle, refs got to make up for disallowed goal
-
His body language is of a player not happy and out of form, this is what pisses me off with him, no matter how bad he plays, for how long, he’s never dropped, so what do the other keepers think, what does kasper care, he’s not got to worry about his place
-
Very lucky, sloppy effortless half, wolves very unlucky, glad it wasn’t a goal, because I cannot see where we get a goal from
-
Will get slated, never great at dominating his area, or kicking a ball, but has always been a good shot stopper. I don’t know if it’s a loss of form, a career on the decline, but it’s one of a couple of areas we in my opinion, we could improve on
-
He’s very similar to Maddison, dives as much but has more end product, 100 mill for Maddison, in today’s market I’d pay 40 mill for grealish as his replacement

We will see what character this bunch have, sulk we are getting beat well, show some anger and hurt in the right way, this is a poor Chelsea side by their standards and more than beatable. Sorry but I thing it will be a loss -
Hasn’t done enough since being here, looks over priced at 30 mill. Weak on the ball, and doesn’t look like scoring many, will get slated but would rather have brought a winger to play his wider role, and kept slim here, and saved the money
-
When we play it quick and pass it around we are unstoppable, but during the dip we are slow and predictable, especially when teams sit in. The passing again down to believe at the minute is safe, and when we do try something a bit more adventurous it just isn’t coming off, and kasper just cannot pass full stop

Kaspers weakness has always been coming off his line but his shot stoping made up for it, but that part of his game has dropped a level or two. Perez meh, Barnes meh, Maddison meh The rest average -
Aston Villa post match thread 2-1

We had plenty of the ball, but did nothing with it, or we was massively wasteful. From the start villa looked like they would win it, gutted we lost villa deserved it. -
Decent player when things are going well, weak when the game gets physical. Not saying he’s a bad player by any means, but massively over rated, if Man U offered anywhere near 100 mill that’s being banded around, I would snap their hands off, he’s good but has so much to improve in his game

Aston Villa (EFL Cup 2nd Leg) - 28/01/2020 - Match Thread

To many players gone missing in a big game again, Perez, kasper, Barnes, a team cannot win with so many bottling it. Stats say we are the better side, but villa have looked the more likely to win it all night -
This is the way I see it, Rodgers and the young squad over performed by our standards the first half a season, but our size clubs problem is we don’t have too much quality in depth. This is a young squad, and if Barnes, Maddison, chilwell etc, we’re at the bigger clubs, they would not be played virtually every game at this stage of their development, but we have no choice. All our young players are highly rated, but are too inexperienced and developing and they cannot be expected to perform at the really high levels every week, and will have dips in belief and confidence, this is where they need protecting, and resting, as with chilwell when the crowd moan and groaned at every miss placed pass, could totally ruin his confidence. Really like Rodgers style, and if we do blow the top 4, and end up in the top six, I wouldn’t be overly alarmed, as I think in Rodgers and his additions, a season or two, we could be a consistently very good side fighting for the top 4 when the big boys are not as shite as they are right now.

Okazaki lacked goals at 8 mill, nacho lacks goals at 25 mill, Slimani has a half decent record when given the chance at 30 mill. Either way our recruitment of strikers has been poor, strikers at these prices, or prices at the time are brought in to add goals to the team, and for the money spent, we still can’t see which striker brings goals barring vardy.
-
No, his final pass and delivery is very inconsistent and he must be aware that it’s the part of his game that if he was consistent would make him a great player instead of a good player
-
Yes maybe, but it was only a couple of seasons ago that gray was rumoured at 25 to 50 mill, and how crazy the money has gone if it was now it would be 80 or 90 mill. Maddison is ahead of gray in respect of ball retention and pass completions, but both have poor end product, and to be fair I think gray has been shut out by Rodgers
-
This valuation adds to my point in another thread, Maddison is over rated, yes he has potential, but because he’s young and English, people rave on with 100 million valuations, and talk like he’s hit his full potential. Yes he could be the next big, but he could never reach what people believe he could be, he’s not a gazza, beckham, or pogba just yet, he needs to find consistency and end product on a regular basis, but like gray he just might not fulfill what people think he can.
-
Not attacking him, or saying his complete shit, stating I think he’s over rated, he’s got a lot to learn, and is very inconsistent, he’s needs to pressure to bring out his potential.
