Bilal El Khannouss (Stuttgart loan, official)
Devonfox1884 replied to lcfc_forever's topic in Transfer Talk
Has anybody actually reported that we’ve accepted £26m? Might be being dim but haven’t seen anything, only that their initial offer was £26m supposedly. -
Will Alves (loaned to Huddersfield, official)
Devonfox1884 replied to davieG's topic in Transfer Talk
Correct decision. He’s not going to get much of a look-in on the wing, especially as Silko Thomas now looks to be ahead of him. Also Page is ahead of him centrally so let’s get him out and get him games. Unlike Cardiff, Huddersfield will be on the front foot in most of their games so hopefully we can see more of him offensively. -
This is awesome - none of this MLS or Saudi nonsense like most at the end of their careers. Whether that’s by choice or not who knows. Playing in Serie A, challenging himself with keeping his club in the league. This is very Jamie Vardy - will be keeping an eye on him.

This would be ideal.

I absolutely adore this man.

Keep him coming off the bench to cause havoc, in weeks where we have 3 games start him in one of them. Re-assess later in the season if he keeps developing - absolutely mega talent.

Oxford (A) Saturday 13th September - 12.30 KO

Appreciate many are asking, but if anyone has spares for this it’d be much appreciated. After trekking to all 3 aways so far from Devon, a game slightly closer to home would be nice! -

To go against the negativity, I actually think this game might suit us more than all the ones we’ve played previously this season. They’ll actively attack us more themselves, rather than waiting for us to make mistakes and counter. While they’ll inevitably hurt us, they should in theory leave more space for the wingers to exploit. Big if, but if we can counter ourselves and get the ball to the wingers at speed I think we’ll have some joy. I’m going 2-1 city. -

Well done to all involved in the academy, things like this will make a massive difference to us going forwards. Also a thank you and good luck to Kasey, not one bad thing to say about him. -

Credit where credit is due, well done Jon. Now make some signings that improve this squad. -

Selling for £5m or so would be a no-brainer. Really likeable lad but not good enough really. -
Stolarczyk Ricardo Okoli Nelson Faes Page Winks Fatawu BEK Monga McAteer Screw it, let’s see what Kasey can do up top. He might be dreadful, but so are Ayew and Daka. Need to get as many players that want to be here in the team as possible - Faes and Winks probably still need to play, unfortunately.

Choudhury (Wrexham interest, Football League World)
Devonfox1884 replied to Sly's topic in Transfer Talk
Hope this is true, £5m would be excellent business for us. -
Not the worst by any stretch, but didn’t Perez nearly kill a fan at Stockport with one a few years back?

Loan to league 1 and consistent starts needed. Whether we can afford to let him go is a different question.

Think this season is going to be grim, but that it will largely reset the club. The players out of contact at the end of the season alongside the ones we will sell by the end of this window should mean the squad is massively overhauled by this time next year, which gives me hope.

James Justin (signed for Leeds, official. 10m.)
Devonfox1884 replied to SouthStandUpperTier's topic in Transfer Talk
Again, not one I’m desperate to see go, he seems a good pro and person, but £7m would be silly to turn down with his recent form, injuries and the fact he’s in his final year. -
I get the point, I really do. But the issue is we have to be somewhat shortsighted at the moment. We need to rebuild - we only do that by moving on high earners as quickly as possible so we can bring in new blood on lower wages to start over. I don’t think we shift Soumare or Skipp, so if there was the opportunity to move Winks on so Marti can bring in a player that he specifically wants in midfield, considering Winks is in his final year and on big wages, would I do it? Absolutely. Of course that’s contingent on being able to sign a replacement, otherwise it would be silly to let him go in our current state in midfield - I acknowledge that. Is there a like-for-like Winks replacement available within a small budget? Maybe, maybe not. If I’m honest I can’t think of someone off the top of my head but I’d hope (perhaps naively!) that we can find some value in the lower leagues or on the continent - we’ve shown we can do it amongst the dross we also sign. I just don’t think he’s that good or irreplaceable. Just my opinion, of course.
-
Let’s not go overboard about one good half against a team in absolute turmoil. £5m and sell for me - he’s replaceable. He’s in the priority group for departure alongside Faes, Vestergaard, BDCR and Soumare.
-
Think the problem I have is he’s essentially dishing it back to all the fans when only a small minority actually booed him. Harsh on a lot there today to react like he did instead of making the most of a good moment in time - a late winner. On a human level I understand it to an extent, but at the same time I think it was somewhat petulant and immature.
-
I think if it’s just £18m as quoted, we’re probably slightly low on his value. I suspect, however, that it’ll be more like £18m up front with £2/3m in add-ons that would take the fee to a level where we can be more content.

Mine arrived yesterday.

Lots of players I’d want rid of before JJ. Can never fault his effort, he takes accountability and seems like a nice guy. Shame how injuries have hampered him over the years.
