If we can recoup £35m-£40m for Castagne, Soumare and Daka then I think we’ve got to be happy with that. It should be the target at least.

It’s such a shame Braybrooke is injured as he’d be perfect in the Winks role in games such as these. I’m interested to see if JJ could do the Ricardo role, I have my doubts but it’s a good opportunity to test him there.

There are two sides to everything - I can say for a fact that he spent at least half an hour signing autographs in the car park after the game and was being friendly and kind towards all there, especially the kids. Maybe he didn’t feel well at full time, maybe he needed the loo, who knows? Maybe he was being a twat. We can’t say for sure. Just thought that’d add a bit of balance here.

Very true and your rationale is sound, but the issue I have is I don’t think Vards would have any takers that would match his massive wages for this season. Not to mention the fact that (and I know emotion shouldn’t come in to it, but Vards is a genuine legend) I don’t want us to push Vards out. He deserves better than that! Maybe loaning Patson out is an option? Depends on our finances really and if we need to raise the funds to sign Piroe through selling players still at the club.

I understand the links to him now that I’ve watched us yesterday. Vardy and Daka aren’t going to get loads of chances most games this season. Piroe and Iheanacho would be perfect as options, with Vards as a plan B. Sadly that means shipping Daka out but I think he needs a fresh start somewhere else.

Maresca shouldn’t, and hasn’t seemed to, take when a player was signed into account when figuring out the best players for our system. It’s unfortunate for Souttar and Kristiansen, but I can’t see where the latter in particular will fit into our plans this season. I was surprised that lurch started over Souttar today, perhaps it’s as he’s a good ball-player but he just costs us so much defensively.

We’re 3 players, a Coady recovery and some more fitness away. Hermansen Ricardo New CB (not got a suggestion but a pacey one) Coady Doyle Winks New CM (Hamer?) KDH New RW (Palmer?) Daka/Kel/Varda Mavididi We would need another winger on top for the bench I think. Possibly another CM too if Praet leaves.

Honestly I’d take £3-4m.

I reckon that if he plays most weeks, and we go up, he’ll sign a new deal with us. It’d be a keep for me unless our finances necessitate the £10m or whatever we’d get for him this summer.

Let him train with the 23s, if he impresses and shows a good mentality then a possible pay as you play deal. But personally as much as I love Drinky I don’t think he’s anywhere near good enough for what we want to be achieving nowadays.

One more year, help us get back up and leave on a high Vards - would be criminal for him to leave on a relegation, his story deserves better than that.

Buy this lad for £5m, sell Iversen for a similar fee, see if we can get rid of Ward and head into next season with Hermansen, Stolarczyk and Smithies as our keepers. Can’t expect Iversen in particular to be happy warming the bench in the championship when he’s already proved himself at this level.

If we were to sign him, there’s no chance Iversen stays to be a number 2 in the championship is there? Think he’d be sold for a few million.

No point taking the first offer. If they’re willing to pay €3m, they’ll probably pay €3.5-4m. It might not seem like much but if we get an extra £500k-£1m for 3/4 fringe players it soon adds up to potentially an amount we can use on an extra signing.

Would make complete sense this, rather Coady than another season of Evans.
