  1. Just read through this thread for the first time - so much negativity. We’ve just gone away to the team 3rd in the league with one of the best home records and got a point. Yes the 2nd half wasn’t pretty and I’m sure GR would have told the players that they should have managed the ball better. That said, they dug in and fought for a point. Substitution wise, he had an eye on Tuesday. I’m sure Ricky, JJ, Mukasa and Daka will start - he needs to use the squad. So far in his tenure, we have 3 draws away at tough opposition (should arguably have won at least one of them) and lost to one of the in-form teams in the division at the end of a brutal 3 game week. What we all need to do is create some positivity ahead of two massive home games. 6 points would make a massive difference and would give us some momentum to take into the final stretch. There has been improvement on the pitch under Rowatt, now it’s time for us to give them something back.
  2. Numb is the word. I don’t get angry at bad results or show joy at good ones. Football as a spectacle is getting progressively worse. I don’t enjoy watching it anymore. Regardless of what league we’re in next season or in futures ones my interest is waning. It isnt just football though, as a society we’ve taken the fun out of most things. The majority of sports have unnecessary rules or people moaning about something.
  3. He’s a decent player, if we stay up and they go down I’d want us to be in for him
  4. A fit Souttar is a high level championship centre back. If we stay up, we need him next season
  5. All I care about is if Jordan Ayews agent says he’ll sign a new 2yr deal on a reduced salary of £30k a week - who decides?
  6. Might as well appoint the Mccanns to run the crèche. I’m honestly done.
  7. Let’s look at the positives: Norwich were better than us and are one of the form teams this calendar year so Saturday was as much about them as it was about us. We were coming off the back of 2 tough away games whilst they had 2 home games this week - one being against Sheff Weds which was essentially a training game. We have Lascelles and JJ back. After Ipswich, we do have winnable games. We need that first one to give us some confidence and momentum. A rocket might just be what the players need and I imagine Gary gave them one after Saturday. I’m not giving up. I had faith in 2015 and I have faith now. We need a moment, a spark, something that can ignite the belief in our squad. Maybe it comes against Ipswich, maybe it’s next Tuesday night. But we all need to keep believing it will happen. I know as a fan base we are done with the running of the club. It’s not going to help us in these 11 games though. Let’s help create some positivity and hopefully it will translate onto the pitch. If you want a Leicester City to support we need to stay up, let’s do what we can to help that happen.
  8. He played with a 5 at Oxford in certain games. The ownership should have nothing to do with what happens on the pitch, if they are he should walk. I found it strange how yesterday Enzo was there and we started to try to play his way. Stupid one-twos between Winks and whoever was closest to him and Ricardo inverting . Didn’t look like a Rowett team to me.
  9. I can see him going to a back 5 for this. Keeper Ricardo Okoli Lascelles Nelson Thomas Fatawu Skipp Winks Mavididi Daka
  10. Several areas of concern for me after today: - Tactically we went back to the slow sideways and backwards passing with no attacking intent. Whilst I don’t advocate going long all the time, a ball down the channel to get the oppositions defence turned is ok - What we were doing clearly wasn’t working at half time. No changes. Should have made a couple of subs to change the shape and/or freshen things up - we are criminally unfit - defensively soft again, need to work a lot harder to stop chances. 2nd goal was a joke
  11. I would start Lascelles. Rowett said in an interview the other day that he struggles to come on in matches so would rather start him and give him an hour or so and see how he is. Rowett’s style of play should suit him too. I’d start JJ on the bench Saturday and give him 20-30 mins. No need to disrupt that area of the pitch.
  12. The issue with a false 9 is that whoever plays there will naturally come deep to get involved. Whilst Daka has his faults, his presence forces teams to defend deeper meaning we can push higher up the pitch. He has to play imo. I would go with Begovic Ricardo Lascelles (if fit- Okoli if not) Nelson Thomas Winks Skipp Fatawu Mukasa BDCR Daka Stolarczyk, Aluko, Okoli (Gray), Page, Aribo, Monga, Richards, Mavididi, Ayew
  13. He will have to wait his turn if these three keep performing. Great player to bring on. Bench will be very strong when JJ, Ramsey, Lascelles and Vestergaard are back.
  14. To be fair, that volley he nearly scored with Saturday was a hell of a strike. Can’t imagine Daka or Ayew being able to do that
  15. Seen a few comments on Twitter about Toko at right back - can anyone who saw the game summarise his performance?
  16. That’s Middlesbrough’s odds 🤣
  17. It will depend on who is available. Assuming it’s who we know of the only changes I would make are Thomas for VK, Aribo for Monga and BDCR for Mavididi. There needs to be a consequence for him not tracking his man. If Fatawu’s available naturally he goes back in and could do with Ayew on the bench. Hopefully JJ, Ramsey and Lascelles aren’t far away.
  18. Mavididi has to score his chance to go 3-1. Aribo then has to score to win it. Thomas then definitely has to score the last one. I really hope these don’t come back to haunt us. Definitely an improvement. Get some players back and we’ve got a chance.
  19. Started to come into it towards the end of the half. Hopefully a positive half time team talk will see us come out and continue. i would bring Aribo on for Monga and put Mukasa on the right after 10/15 mins if jezza doesn’t have an impact. Not much else on the bench that could impact other than possible Page for Skipp if we’re still chasing a goal
  20. This season reminds me so much of 22/23. Sacking a manager too late, not hiring the replacement early enough, injuries, refs hating us, checked out players and teams getting results that hurt us. Not looking good.
  21. I fear we’re at the “must win” stage. My guess is that we go a lot more direct, it won’t be pretty but will be better. The result will be down to fine margins, close either way imo.
  22. Great post. What those who are doubting him are forgetting is he won’t have had the attacking talent we have at the other clubs he’s managed. If he can tighten us up (a lot) and get the ball to our attackers in good areas we will improve.
  23. Apologies if this has already been said (not read through the whole thread) Seen a few suggestions that we have appealed just because the PL have and this is merely a retaliation in order to keep the deduction down. What if it’s the other way around? It seems odd that the premier league want to go through all this again to give us an extra deduction of just one point. Could it be that they’ve got wind of our case, think it might hold up and are counter claiming to save face? The whole thing is strange. It’s a massive gamble that we’re taking and I’m surprised we are without just cause.
  24. With that list of his players he’ll do the following: Okoli, Thomas and VK : He’ll simplify their games, no playing out, no silly mistakes. Defend, be aggressive and clear your lines. He eluded to this in his interview. Daka: he’ll be the outlet. We won’t be as possession based, we’ll be all about getting the ball forward quickly. Daka stretches teams and him being at the top end will make the opposition defend deeper. Ayew - will be used sparingly imo. Ricardo - he will use him how he needs to in order to get the best out of him, won’t be bombing forward and moving into midfield too much. Back 4 will be compact. On the available options, Rowett occasionally played Nelson at fullback whilst at Oxford. Could see him filling in there when Lascelles is fit. Winks - he’ll play like Brannigan does at Oxford. Sat in front of back 4 dictating play. As we’ve got Skipp, Aribo and JJ (hopefully soon) to choose from we have good options in the middle.
