With one year left (after a bad season) we would get naff all for him. Better off extending, giving him a year as number 2 and going from there. If he improves, great - if he doesn’t he has a longer contract that would fetch us a higher fee.

Because we can’t afford to lose an academy player who we could sell for pure profit on a fee. He shouldn’t be our number 1 but losing him for nothing would be stupid

You watch Marcal leave and then do really well somewhere. Rest of this years can happily go in June if not before (bar JJ) As for 2027 we need to sign up Jakub and Nelson. Try and sell the rest in the summer to get something for them

I wouldn’t be against Graham Alexander, looks to have done well wherever he has been. Would definitely put a rocket up a few of them.

Whoever we go for we need to be realistic about objective setting. We need someone who can a) keep us up b) rebuild the squad incorporating youth c) mount a promotion push next season We need experience but not a pensioner, someone who is a motivator but also tactically aware and probably most importantly someone who can put up with and babysit JR and Top. I don’t think the free agent market will cut it. We need to shift Winks, Daka and Soumare now and use any income to fund recruitment of a manager and a handful of loans. Need to be proactive and make it happen. Our future could depend on it.

Went for a run this morning and saw a dead fox on the side of the road. Ominous.

Watched from home. Laughed when we scored, was embarrassed that we got anything from the game. I have no feeling of excitement, no passion towards us, I just feel nothing when I watch us. Didn’t even care that Cov beat us. It’s actually really sad. Football has always been a huge part of my life and I’ve never felt more disconnected from the club or the sport.

The issue we’re going to have now is we’re 10 days or so away from transfer window shutting so if we replace him we either have to find someone who is willing to work with existing squad or start player recruitment process from scratch. Neither are ideal. We also don’t know PSR result yet (shocking - I would making a counter claim on this) so any new manager would have this to contend with. Who is going to want that?!? Our only hope is we can find an older head who is willing to give us 5 months and have a battle on their hands.

The only positive I’m taking from tonight is that Daka didn’t come on when Ayew was terrible and on the verge of being sent off and Soumare didn’t come on when both central midfielders got injured. Must be on the verge of moves.

If you’re saying we have a manager at this level who only trains a team to play one formation that is a huge problem - all teams need flexibility. Fatawu was poor. We would have been better of sacrificing him to improve the shape of the team. The change should have come at the 3/4 stage when it was one way traffic. We were getting penned it but they were leaving gaps where we could have hit them on the break. I’d only want him if either Daka or Ayew is off and he’s in addition to someone else. We can’t be relying on someone with one good season in a poor league.

Should have been 3-0 up at HT. 2nd half was a shambles. Giving them an early goal was one thing but it was crying out for a change of shape. Should have gone 3-5-2 with Vestergaard coming on to give us some control. Was only going to be one winner from the 46th min onwards.

Ordinarily I’m excited for a match against a local rival but I don’t feel any emotion for this one. If we get a positive result, it’s papering over the cracks. If we get battered, it’s not going to be a surprise. I just hope that Page gets a start and we put 100% in. Can’t see either happening sadly.

If there is a loan fee and all his wages paid it’s not the end of the world. Better than him sulking around seagrave not contributing

Being a left footer it makes perfect sense to have him in the team. Last time out in the championship, one of the reasons Mavididi and Fatawu were so potent imo was the space created by underlapping runs from Ndidi and KDH. We haven’t had that this season. Play Page left and JJ right of a midfield three and give them license to get forward with Skipp holding. Our wingers won’t get doubled up as much as a result.

I’m not a fan of right footed players playing leftback. In an ideal world we go into next season with Aluko alongside a new right back and two new left backs.

With Ricardo out of contract in the summer Bade will have a role to play next season. I think it’s too early to throw him straight in so would get him some game time elsewhere whilst we navigate the rest of this season
