I can only assume that Ruud knows Vardy can’t play 90 mins every game and there will be matches that we need a better outlet. Im not expecting this guy to bang 15 goals in but I’m hoping when he does play he can gives us more at the top end to allow defence time to rest and get organised. Looks more of a presence than anyone we currently have

Looking at the Palace and Fulham games in particular, I’m wondering whether previous team talks have been along the lines of “keep doing what you’re doing” whilst the opposition was working on improvements. We came out fired up and positive, spurs didn’t know what’s hit them. Whilst we weren’t bad in the first half we needed inspiration and it looks like at half time we got it. Hoping this influences future half time team talks as that was our best 2nd half display since he’s been here.

Random thought re loss of Schmeichel (and this summer as a whole) - am I right in thinking our only loan player that season was Tete? So when we were struggling for a goalkeeper and defenders, primarily, we had two Premier League loan spots and did nothing with them?!

This is the issue - a player deemed a squad player in the league below on huge wages. We could bring in a better player on a third of his salary.

It does free up a squad place and gets some wages off the books. We should take advantage of battle for promotion and negotiate a loan with obligation if promoted. Could squeeze a decent fee out of them then. Won’t get much now as they’ve just spend £10m on Cannon fodder.

I watched the game tonight and thought he looked so easy to play against. No movement, weak hold up play and presses like he’s been asked to rather than he wants to. Think we were right to get rid of him on that showing.
