  1. I was thinking this earlier - would be tempted to go with: Stolarcyzk Ricardo Faes Vestergaard VK/Thomas Winks Choudhury Fatawu James Mavididi Ayew JJ gets up and down and Hamza call fill in at RB if Ricardo gets forward.
  2. I can’t wait for Souttar to be fit. Brilliant centre back at this level
  3. Are people honestly turning on Marti already?!?!
  4. To get Ayew in the 10. The fact Carranza didn’t come on makes me think he’s not fit to start
  5. The officials were shite - let’s get that out the way. From our perspective, good fight shown to battle back with 10 men - could have gone on to win it. Subs did really well. They should have given Marti some decisions to make ahead of Cov. Next week I would go with: Stolarcyzk Ricardo Faes Vestergaard Thomas Winks James Fatawu Ayew Mavididi Daka
  6. Important to remember that this international break is the longest MC has had with the squad on the training pitch. This should mean more fluidity and organisation - especially with what now should be a settled squad. I don’t think he’ll change much. What I am confident in is that we will now a lot of options off the bench regardless of the 11. ive always thought that our season starts today, let’s hope we start with a bang.
  7. Got Strasbourg written all over it
  8. With Souttar back by then we can let Faes go. The rest will depend on how it goes between now and then. We have one loan spot left so would see us using that if we get a long term injury or have a position we are desperate to strengthen. Can see us selling any of those out of contract at end of the season on the cheap if we can bring in a replacement
  9. I remember Stowelly saying on WYS podcast that you always need a number 1, someone challenging them and then a third to train with. Thats what we now have. JS will stay as first choice and I think having someone applying pressure will be good for him
  10. Vardy over the shoulder left foot volley at the hawthorns. I’m positive if someone else scored that it would be shown every week. Forgetting bias - it’s one of the best goals in premier league history. The technique is unbelievable.
  11. Schmeichel Ricardo Evans Huth Fuchs Kante Tielemans Izzet Mahrez Vardy Maddison
  12. I’m amazed he didn’t get more of a run under RVN. Ruud said that he scouted him whilst at PSV and then he scored a cracker in RVN’s first game before disappearing. I do wonder if there was a “Vardy plays” message from the top.
  13. JJ is perfect for a role in the two. RB inverts so allows him to bomb on.
  14. I would go with: Stolarcyzk Choudhury Faes Vestergaard Kristensen Soumare James Fatawu Ramsey Mavididi Carranza Begovic, Ricardo, Okoli, Nelson, Skipp, Winks, Monga, Ayew, Daka
  15. Yeah we have an option. I think we’ll take him permanently as losing Winks and Soumare at end of the season so will be a cheap replacement
  16. Doesn’t look like Faes and Kristensen made their respective squads. Time for Marti to integrate them back in
  17. Purely looking at him, and not the quality of the football, he looks decent in this compilation. Good with both feet, makes good runs and quick at getting shots off. We should all reserve judgement until he’s had a few games but on the face of it this looks a low risk high reward gamble. We are in the EFL remember, some of the defenders are honking.
  18. To an extent he’s in control of his own destiny - if he knuckles down and works hard he can get in the team and earn himself a move in January or at the end of his contract. Alternatively, he can half-arse it, mope about and potentially be without a club in a years time.
  19. I feel positive. We should have enough to compete at the top end of the table. It was always going to be a tricky window to operate in and considering what we’re left with - to generate over £40m pure profit, reduce the wage bill by roughly £500k per week and have an agreed deal to sell Bilal in next window we’ve done really well. The squad has balance, is a good size for Marti to work with and gives us scope to provide valuable minutes/opportunities to our academy talent. Regarding incomings, JJ and Ramsey are the types of player we used to target - talented players on the way up, albeit on loan. The striker one was always going to be a problem. Firstly, no-one replaces Vards - if we had signed someone for big money the pressure would have been huge. From a financial perspective, decent strikers cost money. If we had have gambled and spent big on a striker there is no guarantee it would have worked and even if it had this season, the PL is a different beast. This gives us a chance to reassess next summer. This lad will sign if he does well regardless as Daka and Ayew are out of contract.
  20. I fear we’re a bit vulnerable to the likes of Faes, Soumare, VK, Winks and Daka being approached by Turkish/Saudi clubs after our window shuts. Whilst it would be ideal to move them all on we don’t have the squad to allow it without replacements
  21. This is the key thing for me - we might not ever know the ins and outs of the deal. In an ideal world they’ve agreed to pay £5m loan fee and cover his wages with an obligation to pay another £25m at end of the season. Could be possible if Newcastle aren’t paying them anything for a year.
  22. I can’t Fiat happening personally
  23. With the amount of names we have been linked with in the last 48hrs there is bound to be movement. My concern is that we perhaps have money to spend that we did not foresee and have a scatter gun approach. Marti sounds confident and our sales have been great this summer so hopefully I’m proven wrong
  24. Good spot - my bad! One “10” will do!
