  1. Just thinking about all the whining pre WC 18&22 and Euro 20&24 and can't help but think... - wtf do you want? You begged for an alternative to Southgate and here's your reward - Fvcking wait until we play competitive matches in the WC when we qualify next year??? - Stop watching us and judging us based on playing inferior opposition??? I do, I did. You'll next catch me watching an England game in the first match of WC next year
  2. Deliriously popular to hate on Levy, and he's not been perfect by any means. But their new stadium is his shining legacy by far. It is incredible, it's a 365 days a year stadium that will help Spurs' financial footing for decades to come. Matchday revenue, concerts and events taking place. The stadium debt was refinanced a few years ago, and the amount they take in will always mean it's serviceable. They might well get a new chairman who brings them success on the field with a stable manager etc, but that stadium will be vital to any future success. Also worth noting that they built it just at the right time, imagine what it'd cost to build it now.
  3. Tbh it's probably RvN due to just how much life he sucked out of the club, fans, players and probably his own career. Absolutely hopeless. But a word on Taylor. We gave him the keys to the castle, we have him millions of pounds to refresh what was fast becoming an ageing squad. We gave him the task of replacing our powerhouse striker and teaming him up with a troubled, but a revered striker. We had so, so much opportunity that summer to get it right. European football, money, a solid PL presence. I dunno if he's the most "hindsight" bad manager we had. Sure there were clues (unable to manage Collymore, terrible away record after November, signing Junior bleedin Lewis) but the true scale of his disaster never really kicked in until Wycombe onwards. By the time he'd done and spent another £7.5m on Walker, Scowcroft (4 goals in 34 PL games in 00-01) and Wise and essentially spaffed every penny we gave him up the wall. The fact he never really accepted or recognised the damage he caused, either, is something to hold. We were a team of strong personalities, and we gave the job to someone utterly incapable of managing strong personalities. On Holloway - He came in with a lot of hype and promise (remember the fvcking face masks). This motormouth entertainer who had a half decent track record, and who we fought to get from Plymouth. Weird season, that, no team in the history of the Championship (2004 onwards) has gone down with as many points. We also had the second best defensive record, but the worst scoring record that season. We were useless in attack, and nearly 20% of our goals came in wins at home against Watford & Norwich City.
  4. Really was a shame that the Carling Stand was torn down after being up for just eight/nine years tbh
  5. CFB overtakes soccer in my life from now until January. Love Gameday, love the big games and adore the atmosphere and chaos of it all. First got into it channel hopping a few years ago on BT Sport and came across Auburn-Alabama. Hooked since then. The DAZN deal is fantastic for us, and sorted a stream for the Fox Big Noon games we don't get. Love that we're already in chaos with Alabama losing and the brill LSU-Clemson game.
  6. And yet today the referees are batting for them. It's almost as if refs are human, make subjective decisions, sometimes make mistakes, and people's mental biases take hold. 🤷‍♂️
  7. Isn't it amazing how the referees didn't save Manchester United in their first two PL games, or in the League Cup match earlier this week. And yet a decision for them today makes it "not a surprise" or "inevitable"? Football fans are so fvcking fragile it's unreal. Why Burnley? Why not Arsenal? Or Fulham? Or Grimsby? Buzzing to see why TODAY is the day the PL/PGMOL is giving them decisions?
  8. Just love a snarky whine every now and then. Let things pan out and join in when I can control myself no more
  9. Well I for one can't wait for this player to join so we can constantly have debates and arguments... Every two weeks rinse and repeat this thread When an opposition team chants something against him When our own fans chant against him When the abuse becomes like this if he doesn't play well The microscopic analysis on how he interacts with Hamza et al For the narrative of our season, whatever that be, to be overtaken with all of the above
  10. Sky have now announced their deal - three years. Extra games at 6/9pm, Thanksgiving games, all playoff games and TNF/SNF/MNF (RedZone also included) Just to say as someone who follows NCAA way closer than NFL the DAZN deal is absolutely tremendous.
  11. Still waiting for the official Sky announcement, but some UK TV confirmations: Channel 5 to show two games a week, one on 5, one on 5Action. Includes Thanksgiving and playoff games as well as the Superbowl (More niche) - DAZN to show up to 25 college football games a week, includes Gameday and the playoffs. Games will initially be free for a short period. (As with Sky deal doesn't include Fox games from the Big 10)
  12. I'd be interested to see what would be built in to stop these governments agreeing to these deals, getting the returned migrants, getting the money for taking them and then magically 'losing them' as they cross borders and try again (assuming people would try it again anyway). Same people cross, detained, returned, money deposited, released, cross, detained, returned, money deposited etc etc? Or would the deal mean these people are indefinitely detained in their home country?
  13. To be fair there's a fair portion of people who don't add to the atmosphere whatsoever and we're not castigating them. From families on a day out, to the mob who love a concourse chant but go out there like it's a 90 minute silence in tribute when they see daylight. Let's not pretend our 3k sold out away ends are 2,750 hardcore singers for 90 mins and 250 silent 'oldies' at the front? Ultimately the key thing is not to buy in the first few rows with the expectation of standing, and if you want to... move. Isn't it actually a good thing that these people buy the seats at the front, instead of getting tickets and wanting to sit down when they're mid-way up?
  14. Ah, I see we've reached "blame the referee" levels in the thread. As usual.
  15. Obviously 44.5 games to go, but the fvcking hubris on here before the season started and after Sheffield Wednesday last week. We never learn the lessons our arrogant arses are handed to us.
  16. I have an enormous catalogue of videos from that season. Match clips, punditry, analysis, Sky Sports News/BBC EMT/ITV Central etc. Right from August onwards, not just when everyone started getting excited. More than happy to help share some of this if you think it's worth it, I can have a rifle through the hundreds of files and send some initial bits?
  17. Always are and always will be, you have to remember that. Our fanbase will have a few donning their knee pads and wiping their chins after a session of KPFC-ing themselves out. I'd love to know what would turn them but I doubt even Chansiri-levels of behaviour would turn them against the glorious overlords. Oh please use us as a propaganda prop in your feud with a neighbouring nation 8000 miles away. Please.
  18. This is accurate tbh, but it's the same for any clubs. Whether it's the PIF or NFFC's resident crim, a good portion of any fanbase would welcome them with open arms and defend them to the hilt no matter what. Flash a bit of cash, offer a bit of success and you've got the best PR - thousands of football fans batting for you come what may.
  19. Yeah I'm playing the waiting game, too, not that keen on the first blocks...
  20. Surely some of you aren't insane enough to judge people for leaving a friendly early? The LCFC kool aid some of you drink is baffling. You'll be chaining fans to their seats next. Support the lads, you can't leave your seat until you've clapped them off at the end. Let people do what they want with their own free time? People have reasons as listed in here, but also maybe they just wanted to go? Funny that this thread went quiet when we were as stunningly shit last season. Quite the coincidence.
  21. I think this league is in serious trouble if we did saunter straight back up. A team as badly mismanaged at the top as us, going straight back? One month to the new season with no manager, no signings, no clue or direction or strategy. If we somehow went up, either on the last day or pissed it with 99 points it'd be a sign of just how gaping that chasm is between prem/champ if a dysfunctional team like us can bounce between the divisions without too much issue.
  22. Is anyone else absolutely exhausted at needing to have an opinion on everything? From the middle east conflict to the sports you follow and the nonsense that infests that when you're trying to enjoy it, to culture war topics and politics, it just feels utterly relentless. It feels like you can't enjoy anything these days as everyone needs to have a stance, and not only is political opining of famous people seemingly expected, you get lambasted by the opposition for whatever you say. I almost admire the stamina of people who thrive on this stuff and can do it hours a day, every day. It actively makes me want to disengage with not just social media, that's easy enough to turn off, but when you try to turn to other things that should be "fun" it gets usurped by this kind of stuff. Maybe I'm just dripping in privilege to be able to be weary with it.
  23. I know it's not popular but this is what happens when people are so insistent on keeping the outdated, nonsensical 3pm blackout rule. Games moved to every spot than the window they can't broadcast in. If we try to modernise and bring ourselves into the 21st century this might stop. The Disney view that "well they shouldn't be showing so many games in the first place" is fantasy land. You want a decent, consistent level of 3pms in this EFL era? Scrap the blackout, let them show games live at 3pm.
  24. Another vote for Leffe 0% here - it's really nice and of all the ones I've tried I find the most "authentic"
  25. What a weird rant. It's in a very residential area and has worked fine for years and years. Also means transport is actually TV ratings too, I doubt the BBC want to be going till 1:30am because of a tennis match. The ones that matter start at decent times. Just because it happens somewhere eles doesn't meant it should here? What a narrow-minded, entitled, arsehole POV. Then again, if the boot fits
