Solid summary, sadly if you stand still in this game you get overtaken and that's exactly what's happened. The summer where we made NO signings at all was telling for me. It wasn't just bad luck - it was the result of overpaying for players and giving out inflated wages. We basically handcuffed ourselves with FFP. That was a massive warning sign for me and from them on the decline was rapid. No team can afford to stand still in the PL. The most frustrating part is that we’ve basically undone a decade’s worth of progress. Winning major trophies and being a stable top-10 PL club to where we are now — it honestly feels like we’ve reset back to 2013. All that smart recruitment, structure, and momentum we had when we were the envy of the football world is long gone, and we’re having to start again. It’s a real shame

I've always rated him highly but also understand the practical side his age, wages, and our long-term needs. Genuinely brilliant footballer and a really likeable guy — something you can’t say about everyone in the squad. When he's fit he's head and shoulders above Championship level and if he goes he'll be missed. Probably still got a good few years left at a decent level - best years are behind him now though and he's probably on a big wedge which we realistically need to get off the books. Can't sugarcoat the situation but good luck to him whatever he does.

If only the rest of the squad had this guys attitude, some might say it's just words but "can't wait to see the fans and fight for the badge again" feels like it's genuine with him.

I’ll probably start watching more National League South now Farnborough FC are my local non-league team and they’re just a short walk from mine. I’ll still come back for the occasional Leicester game like I always have, and of course, I’m hoping for a good season and better times. But honestly, I feel that disconnected from the club than ever it's quite sad really. So I won’t be spending much of my hard-earned on them, especially with so much EFL coverage on Sky anyway
