Ric Flair Live & Direct on BSLB Podcast
Sunbury Fox replied to Ric Flair's topic in Leicester City Forum
When's the next pod? It's wonderfully cathartic therapy in these terrible times as a Leicester fan. -
Pedant alert!! We didn't finish bottom in 2007/08. We finished 22nd in a 24 team league. We actually managed 52 points - not sure we'll get many more than that this season after the points deduction.
-
We could look to get him a League One loan ahead of us moving into that division next season.
-
Sadly, not. My only ambition for this season now is that we somehow finish outside the bottom 3 after the points deduction. This manager will never have the nous to mount a serious promotion campaign, especially with a squad that is so lacking in terms of physicality, energy and commitment.
-
No need for that because instead we're signing a bloke who hasn't played for over a year after breaking both his legs in a horrific car crash.

I do like Pipes on the whole but I've stopped listening to When You're Smiling. Independent podcasts are able to be far more honest about the current situation, so I prefer them.

LCFC 1-2 Watford, post match thread
Sunbury Fox replied to Phil Mitchell's topic in Leicester City Forum
Chose not to go today (an excellent decision) so wondered if Cifuentes came on to the pitch at the end to clap the fans? -
Based on today's "performance", looks like we need 8 or 9 new starters.

Match Ratings: Leicester City 1-2 Watford - Vote Now
Sunbury Fox replied to Mark's topic in Leicester City Forum
The performances of Jalub, Okoli and Abdul today were shockingly bad, even by the pitiful standards of this season. -
Just switched on Wrexham v Sheff U. The energy and intensity of this game compared to the insipid dross we served up at the KP earlier is staggering.
-
As mentioned in the match thread, it's symptomatic of our recruitment in recent seasons that in summer 2024 we paid more for Okoli than F*rest paid for Milenkovic.

Which players would you take back to the Premier League?

LCFC 1-2 Watford, post match thread
Sunbury Fox replied to Phil Mitchell's topic in Leicester City Forum
That last 30 minutes was really, really bad. There was zero intensity and the players simply stopped running. Can't see how the manager can survive now unless the finances are so bad we can't afford to sack him. There is simply no other reason why we should retain his services. -
He's massively underperformed all season in truth, apart from the occasional magic moment. His general play has been amongst the worst in what is a shockingly bad team.
-
Sack him tonight, for God's sake. That second half was an utter abomination. Watford were pushing more for a goal in the last 30 minutes than us. Shocking.
-
We spent £12m on Okoli. A bit more than Forest spent on Milenkovic from another Serie A club in the same summer. Another great example of how we've wasted money.
-
Insulting to Amartey to compare his competence on the ball to Okoli's. Okoli can barely even be described as a footballer to be honest.

Watford - Home - Boxing Day 3pm - Anyone going?
Sunbury Fox replied to Spudulike's topic in Leicester City Forum
We are beyond garbage. You've got a great chance of 3 points. Despite being season ticket holders me and my boys will again be staying away. Not going to waste a day of our Xmas break making a 230 mile round trip to spend 90 minutes watching this sad excuse of a team. Will serve them right if the ground is half empty. -

100% spot on. -
QPR 4-1 LCFC, post-match thread
Sunbury Fox replied to Phil Mitchell's topic in Leicester City Forum
QPR's tactics were simple but highly effective. They got the ball forward very quickly, repeatedly won second balls and ensured that they blocked off all our highly predictable passing lanes when Vestergaard had possession at the back. According to the stats, they won 2/3 of the ariel duals in the match and won 79% of tackles made, compared to 54% for us. On such a small pitch they totally suffocated us, ruthlessly exposing our lack of physicality. 4-0 at HT obviously flattered them, with 2 of the goals coming from very low xG shots, but there's no doubt they were far superior to us in all areas. For a start, just compare the performance of their wingers to that of our much vaunted pair. It is perhaps telling that their manager has a decent track record in a top 5 European league, compared to the hapless Marti, whose career highlight was finishing 18th with QPR. -
The difference being that Cifuentes made a big thing of connecting with the fans which Ruud never did.
-
I hope that's true as it would be an indication that he knows he's being sacked.
-
I've been following the club since the early 80s and can't remember anything like this, especially in the Championship.
