Chelsea with two right backs in their midfield despite spending £400m ! -
4-2-3-1 -- What's the obsession???
st albans fox replied to ian__marshall's topic in Leicester City Forum
If we were playing 4-2-3-1 then we wouldn’t be conceding so many goals thorough the centre of the pitch we are not playing a double pivot -
AFD takes control of saxony state in German elections first time a party that far to the right has done so for ninety years! admittedly it’s former east Germany

Premier League 2026/2027 Season

To think we were competing at this level just five years ago -
Playing out from the back will mean we fall behind early in many games so easy for an away coach to tell his team to press us strongly for the first fifteen.

Just think that you cover your face if you’re intent on a level of intimidation, know that you’re likely to be involved in disturbances or have previous and don’t want to be recognised. irrelevant whether it’s left, right or in the middle.

Are We Looking At The Wrong Problem
st albans fox replied to Globalfox's topic in Leicester City Forum
It’s one of our main problems and has been for years players told they don’t need to be as fit as the opponent because they’re better footballers so don’t need to run around as much no intensity Brendan worked it by keeping the ball and passing around teams until they got tired. Doesn’t work any more. Teams are tactically more astute and fitter. it’s the most basic requirement for a professional athlete - it can be highlighted when our players have moved elsewhere and are rarely ready to compete. -
What is our rock bottom and when do we hit it?
st albans fox replied to Sly's topic in Leicester City Forum
It’s a view mine has always been that king power have consistently failed to effectively finance the club. Even under vichai their approach was to wait for debt to pile up and then clear it. That’s a reactive approach but it got considerably worse once we lost the boss. They should have been committing funds to allow budgets to be clearly set. of course the lack of a sensible player trading strategy after chilwell went coupled with the disastrous wage structure has led us to where we are. -
Next Leicester Manager Thread
st albans fox replied to Conscript Fox's topic in Leicester City Forum
Just thinking about the cost of sacking him - if the cost of not going up is administration then you’ve nothing to lose by sacking him. unless you believe that he’ll turn it around and sadly this lot would believe the earth is flat if pep said it. the sale is an extra problem - you want stability rather than chaos. changing coach looks like panic and that is very much chaos. There are still 41 games to go - I think the sale aspect means he stays more than he goes, but if the sale looks like it’s not happening then I agree they’ll pull the plug quickly (or if a agreed buyer says they won’t want him anyway). -

A shocking indictment on the ownership and those charged with running the club that this view is actually (and legitimately) gaining traction. if we don’t go up then it may well be unavoidable anyway. The idea that you bring it forwards (because we don’t look capable of promotion) has some merit. Those who know the numbers within the club know what’s on the horizon if we’re still in L1 come May. Presumably the rush to sell is related and anyone who is looking at buying the club is surely not going to to take an unnecessary bath on £150m. so if we’re bought then it’s maybe only by a group/person that has more money than sense. -
Will he be dropped or just moved to LB
-
Faes was signed when we definitely were inserting clauses. Mentioned by Percy at the time no one knows if there are L1 clauses. You’d assume that the clause would mention that salary drops by a percentage on relegation and doesn’t distinguish which league you’re dropping into. Should be a standard clause that’s used across the industry

They could have made it too tough for us to chase given them a chance of bowling us out -
Russell gonna be livid under 60% possession

You’d think they’d be putting their foot down more than 4 runs per over could be setting us 250 in 40 overs if they’d been bothered ? -
Not deliberate but when it goes in that’s not relevant
-
I’m sure it went in off his arm and not one appeal from our players

Agree that most likely unchanged apart from the keeper some of the new lads will be on the bench. Wouldn’t think lundstrum is fit enough yet - even for that but we do need someone to take the weight of the two youngsters in holding midfield as the game progresses. -
Difficult one this he arrived on 50k relegation clauses will have that around 30k now. so we’re contracted to pay him approx £1.2m to end June 2027 when his contract ends I think it’s clear that those speaking about fees more than a couple million at the beginning of the week were peeing in the wind if I was him then I’d be agreeing to terminate at 800k. If he doesn’t play till the next window then there won’t be a queue of clubs looking to take him on in Jan because he won’t be match fit or sharp and unlikely to contribute effectively until march. so any deal he gets as a free agent in Jan wouldn’t be that rewarding. he could well miss the whole season. the club may have had him down as a saleable asset on financial planning but they’ll have to accept that’s an adjustment now.
