  1. "Barnes will tear you apart" was his song. The Toon fans were singing it too.
  2. It's weird seeing home fans cheering an away goal, but Harvey deserved it. He was the making of their first goal too.
  3. Well, that was depressing. I am away for the Liverpool and Southampton games, if any mug wants to buy my ticket. I am not optimistic about beating Ipswich and it wouldn't surprise me to finish on 17 points. Rudd is the worst manager that we have ever had, and I remember Sousa, Allen and Megson. There is no plan, no fitness, no tactics. The players don't know where they are supposed to be or who to pass to. They aren't great players but they are better than this. It's a long time until we are back in the PL, but like those around me, I have renewed my season ticket grudgingly. It's the first time that I have seriously considered not renewing, particularly with the bloody electronic ticketing too. Let's hope for a decent managerial appointment soon.
  4. It was a wild ride. Better than mid table obscurity. Nothing fatal about relegation. Been there before a number of times
  5. As if we didn't need a finisher...
  6. Totally bonkers to sell our most reliable striker for no real profit. Sure he isn't the finished product, but could be key to next season in the Championship. The last thing we should be selling is youthful prospects.
  7. Yeah, I always liked his game. Mavadidi just couldn't get past him.
  8. Bilal was good, the only one looking interested and committed. So Ruud took him off...
  9. I think this will be the last time. Stolarczyk should be fit for Boxing day.
  10. Moving McAteer to left wing at half time puzzled me, but he wasn't getting a look in against Wan-Bissaka. It was a great move though. I think Stephy will play his way back into the side. We have a lot of games over the next month.
  11. Thomas was good enough to win in an FA Cup final. Just saying...
  12. Yes, that rings true, and with our defence it rather worries me.
  13. Really? I though Maresca was pretty good scouting.
  14. Plus he didn't get the England gig.
  15. Another strong Hermansen performance but no great or awful performances in the outfield apart from Faes for their first. I didn't think Chelsea were that great either and got a bit fed up with their falling over at the slightest chance. Our players weren't great, but neither were they awful. The problem is as always the lack of tactics or plan, and that's from the manager. If we had a better manager then we have the ability to stay up, particularly considering how rubbish some of the others teams at the bottom are.
  16. A foul day to go see us completely outplayed by our former manager. I hope Maresca gets a good reception as he deserves it. The problems in the club are not his fault, indeed his signings of Fatawu, Mavididi, Winks and Hermansen are rare bright spots in our lacklustre team. Relegation looks nailed on for me, and Cooper needs to go if we are to have any chance at all.
  17. Yes, first half was pretty good on our part against a well drilled Forest side who were better than us in every position apart from GK. At half time we changed nothing, while they adapted. That's down to management of in game decisions. The subs were woeful, and from a weak bench. We need someone better than Cooper, but who?
  18. Mavididi has always had a mardy face and walk. He had it last season too. I think he is actually very motivated. Forest doubled up on both our wingers to nullify them all night. That must have created a gap somewhere more cental, but we seemed not to have the tactical flexibility to exploit it
  19. I wonder if with Tuchel in the England job, and points deduction stopped, Potter might well be more open to an offer. We need something to cheer up this season.
  20. I am happy to see the back of Cooper, but let's get someone lined up to replace him first with some creativity and plan. I don't want a caretaker for a month while we futz about.
  21. It's a bit crazy stat time, but yesterday wasn't only our first win, it was the first win for any of the three promoted teams. The gap has become huge.
  22. I wish we could sustain a performance longer than 30 min. We got away with riding our luck, but won't be able to very often.
  23. Player revolution? Bloody hope so!
  24. Ward was always good at penalties, it's open play that's his issue.
  25. Bake off is having its opening show...
