  1. Looked suspiciously offside to me.
  2. We'll be relegated then, he's nowhere near the exit door.
  3. Akinbiyi's goal and body builder celebration against Sunderland was 23 years ago today!
  4. Not sure what's funnier, payback for last season or the frustration of the dummy spitters who are convinced he's 1 defeat from the sack which I very much doubt he is.
  5. Me too, it was a topsy turvy December and January for us after McGhee replaced Little. Creditable draws against Man Utd and champions to be Blackburn and our solitary away win in horrendous conditions at Man City and a woeful new year performance at Ipswich.
  6. Luckily no one on FT has a victim mentality.
  7. The mood is much more positive in the ground than on FT.
  8. Face it, to the decision makers he's miles from the sack.
  9. We're 220 pages in now and I would imagine the truth is, as much as many of us will hate it, he's exceeding the board's expectations and his sacking is more unlikely now than when this thread started.
  10. Have you tried stamping your feet?
  11. At Maine Road in 1995 the supporters' coaches arrived in second half injury time. Incidentally, it was the same night as Cantona's kung-fu kick.
  12. Careful what you wish for.
  13. Is it a massive drop off? 19 points from our last 14 games of last season suggests we were properly found out at that level.
  14. I don't know what's sadder, the comeback or the solitary laughing reaction every single time.
  15. He proved at Forest he wasn't shit, took them from bottom of the Championship to surviving in the Prem despite kamikaze squad building from above. We were always going to be limited with who we could get with a points deduction hanging over us, the England job on the horizon and the obvious first choice being hamstrung by his previous contract. We've already got more points than many of his detractors predicted.
  16. I was listening to a Saints fan say he's glad he went and it's one to tell the grand kids about. I still have find memories of losing 7-1 at Sheff Wed, we were 7-0 down when we scored and we started singing "what's it like to be outclassed?".
  17. He's vile, a player for their women's team needed a scan, for an injury picked up playing, and he personally intervened to stop her using the club's facilities, told her to go to her GP.
  18. One of the best uses of the word over.
  19. Probably not the best example of fans knowing best.
  20. I'd say it's a fair point, we've always had a moan but levels of entitlement rocketed from that season onwards.
  21. I think I watched a different game to everyone else, we conceded 2 very poor goals in the first half but we were also quite enterprising in patches. I said to my brother, at half-time, that if we were ever going to win a game from 2-0 down it was today.
  22. 0-0 for me would be West Brom Anglo-Italian Cup 93/94, I've borne witness to approximately 600 games and this was the worst. I suspect it was match fixing for both clubs to get out of a god forsaken competition. There was 1 goal attempt, by Phil Gee, in the entire game and it came straight towards me in SK3 pretty much knocking me unconscious and leading to medical complications that eventually lead to my tonsils having to be removed. The highlight was a first touch by Neil Lewis where he leapt to bring the ball down on a proverbial sixpence from above head height.
  23. This is a great thread, loads of "oh yeah" moments while reading the comments.
  24. I prefer Shrewsbury '82 for the 5-2. Orient '80 for 1-0 and Burnley '83 for 0-0.
