  1. Is it really that inevitable? We've been truly terrible but haven't been in the bottom 3 yet.
  2. I thought I was excessively optimistic until I read this!
  3. Sven's days
  4. Grew conceded 14 goals in his 5 games for us. Ward was very poor I'm not disputing that but so were many others, our defendsive organisation was dreadful and our inability to keep possession meant we were doing a lot of it. When you use the word sustained, didn't he have a spell of 5 clean sheets in 7?
  5. There's loads of extremely poor players, who are/were well paid, that season that don't have a 186 page thread of insults. Grew was worse, much worse.
  6. You're going to get called John for this
  7. Ricardo and Mark Grew (I go back a long way) were both significantly worse than Ward. He was over priced, then underplayed and then over exposed in a team of players that were largely ambivalent to the plight of the club and weren't wanted by a manager who wanted out himself. He's not up to the job, that's clear, but the level of responsibility he's expected to shoulder and the vitriol towards him is wholly disproportionate.
  8. In fairness to him he had next to no 1st team football, for 4 seasons at his peak age, before being thrown in as a PL no.1, it was never going to be ideal. His contract can't end soon enough for him or us. A free transfer in January would be the perfect solution for all.
  9. One reason we might stay up is I'm able to go more often from January and we've taken 7 points from the 3 games I've been to this season.
  10. Let's hope Filbert doesn't do his ACL
  11. I get that it's going to be a battle and yesterday was dismal but we haven't been in the bottom 3 all season so we're hardly certainties for the drop.
  12. I'm surprised he's not on the list at the KP 😅
  13. I think 6.3 is a bit harsh on Mads, today could have been a calamity without him.
  14. I don't know either way, neither do you.
  15. If your kid ever wants an example of confirmation bias for their homework show them this ☝️
  16. Cooper would be getting caned for this
  17. Yep, particularly if it was circa 1/3 of the audience.
  18. I left at full time after West Ham, with an ambulant disabled supporter and Burnmoor Street shut so we had to walk round to Brazil St, dropped him off in Aylestone and got back to Ilkeston in a few minutes over an hour. I find it difficult to imagine how it can take an hour and a half to leave the vicinity of the stadium. In answer to your question, at the climax of the game we're getting up and down to let people through and having our view blocked by people walking past.
  19. Bournemouth winner!!@
  20. I always thought Joachim was a bit of a conundrum while at Leicester. He made his debut part way through 92/93, was injured for most of 94/95 and left in 96, so the only season he could have won it was 93/94 and Grayson was magnificent that season.
  21. Shilton left in 74, Nish in 72, McAllister won it in 88 and Collymore only made a dozen or so appearances. Weller, Worthington and Cross are stand out misses though.
