After Craig Levein left I had a taxi booking in the name of Le Guen (the then Rangers manager) from the club, I picked up a woman, assuming she was his wife or agent and took her to the Holiday Inn, I parked there, walked into town and put my entire day's takings on him getting the job, he didn't so much as get a mention in the papers. -
League Cup to Introduce Seeding

Me too, every single piece of news comes with this. The "big 6" need 8 other club's votes to change anything just in the Prem. -
Only Chelsea have played more Premier League games than us without conceding 7 or more goals in a game.

“There’s no loyalty in football anymore”

And if he'd bombed he'd have been gone before Xmas, it needs to be a 2 way street. -
Farke would be too funny

Looks like Moyes was born or the job
-
I think we need someone who is out of a job with top level experience, even if they've failed previously, Rishi Sunak maybe.
-
It would be bizarre if we got a manager we were linked with 24 years ago.

Less toes

Enzo would be a terrible fit at Chelsea, he'd infuriate the fan base and be gone by bonfire night, Xmas at best.

He's the new Frank Lampard! Every interview he ever does will be "so Archie, how do you feel when you're compared to your dad?"
-
In other news an ex player has had a pretty ordinary season but will hit a purple patch in November and have an if only thread about him started.

I gave my collection to a charity shop a couple of years ago, I had the home and away from that season, they were a couple of my favs. It was a really weird season on the field, I'd say our most inconsistent in my time following the club. Pleat arrived half way through and we were fantastic from January onwards.

Fifa to explore impact of moving domestic matches abroad

What I don't get in all of this is that the more turnover the clubs get the more money they lose. The only winners are the players and agents. -
And for the thousandth time I'm beaten to it!
-
Edit: beaten to it again

It's a great shame that people in their mid-20s who weren't able to go as children (parents weren't interested or couldn't afford it) are still frozen out of going every week. Expansion needs to be asap or that generation will become casual fans of the big-6. The cost of membership is outrageous when it just gives you the opportunity to buy tickets at roughly double the season ticket price.

I wish they'd filmed the meeting about plans for the Hundred. "So apart from T20 with 1 less ball per over, what have we got?".... "what about retina damaging graphics?".
-
The idea that you can stay up with 29 points is absolute madness!

I'm not sure play-offs are always turgid, there have been a lot of amazing games over the years, our second legs against Cambridge, Portsmouth, Cardiff and Watford and finals against Swindon (particularly), Derby and Palace were definitely not examples of fear football. Along with our Swindon final, Bolton vs Reading and Charlton vs Sunderland were 3 of the most captivating games ever played at Wembley.
-
It was Poole, pulled off a blinding save from a point blank header amongst others.
-
Why are play-off 1st legs so cagey? The 6 we've been in have had 5 first leg goals and 22 in 2nd legs.
-
For differing reasons none of them. Vardy maybe but he'll be big money and 2 years older than the player that got 3 goals in his last Prem season.
