There's an out of work manager who took over in similar circumstances and built foundations that won 3 leagues in 8 years. Why wouldn't we be keen he returns? 😂 He had bad health immediately after leaving Bristol City in 2023 but as of Feb 2025 he was posting about cycling the Peak District and climbing mountains. Seemed healthy at the Vardy send off too.. I'd have thought he'd be fully up for it if offered.

Has clearly never been good enough and he clearly never will be. He's not even got the excuse of youth any more - 25 this season, with 5 seasons of regular football behind him. Should be in the prime of his career. He probably is in his prime but his career should absolutely not be here. I can't believe we extended his contract to 2029. ****ing hell.

Tonight is the most annoyed I think I've ever been about football. I've had a lot of apathy this season but dared to think "maybe the cloud is actually lifting" after the first half. Pathetic for a man in my 40s with kids and a serious job, but I actually can't get to sleep after that. Hopefully this can be some sort of a "rock bottom" moment. Other big setbacks have become catalysts in hindsight. I don't think we have the brains in the boardroom or the balls on the pitch to make this one of them. This is the right thing to do, but the right time to do it was the summer. We don't have the luxury of concentrating on this mid-season during a crisis. Rather than appointing a long term executive team who can work with the right manager, our priority in Feb 2026 has to be getting in a firefighter as manager. The background stuff absolutely needs changing, but do that properly while an experienced manager grinding out some 1-0s at home and ugly away draws to keep us up. The new appointment doesn't need to have a 5 year contract. Get in Pearson / Rowett / Mowbray until the end of the season then assess from there.

I do like him as a player but neither he or Fatawu have been good enough this season to dedicate our whole attacking system to. Both have shown moments of individual brilliance (Fatawu much more than Mavididi), but the formation needs to change and neither should not be automatic starters.

I'm pretty sure they'll give King the Southampton home game and if he gets a result he'll get longer.

Ah yes of course. I'd like to see us increase bodies at CB, CM and CF - we don't have good enough players there, and you can't win games with such a flimsy core. I fully expect it will be the same XI, same formation and same tactics. Just with some subs coming on at 60 minutes when we're 3-0 down
