  1. it’s my opinion and also reading between the lines of where we were pre transfer window closing and what happened after it shut. Let’s see when the next manager comes in then or do you think Winks, Faes etc have been exemplary in their behaviour and there effort has been elite level and only held back by the manager. I believe the time has come where we have to make a change but make no mistake I hold the players more accountable a good few have checked out.
  2. I agree but let’s not pretend this squad is 100% committed to the club too many players who are still here we’re making all sorts of noises that they wanted out and new challenges etc etc. the mindset and culture of many of the current squad is that they have checked out and don’t give a shit.
  3. Genuinely I really don’t believe he has the choice with certain players, picture the scene……early days Marti and his team identify Winks, Faes et al as bad eggs who want out and so doesn’t include them in his starting XI the club fail to move them on and Marti is told to reintegrate them which massively undermines his position and changes the whole dynamic of the squad. the culture at the club is shot certain players have way too much influence and power and they are enabled by the owner and senior management which completely undermines any manager trying to come in and stamp his authority. It has happened for years here but know the quality of the senior players with the influence has declined then we are left with what we have now.
  4. We can all see that there are issues with how we are setting up and that the current formation and team selection is not working but feck me that first half hour and the 3 goals we conceded were nothing to do with tactics that was just players chucking in the towel and throwing the manager under the bus. Winks and Faes were an utter disgrace yesterday, if Marti is sacked then these two whoppers also have to be removed from any matchday squads until they leave the club.
  5. What makes me smile is that we won the league with an average of 35% possession I appreciate the game changes and you have to move on but we are our own example that teams can be successful playing different styles so surely a hybrid of possession and high intensity football can be can be the way forward.
  6. Saw this post by Darren Eadie on X and think it’s a very fair assessment of where we are, Marti isn’t an elite coach but this group or a good proportion checked out of the club a long time ago and I think that has made his role almost impossible.
  7. Not sure I want to see Kingy in charge of this mob especially if the ones who have been complicit in throwing 3 managers under a bus in the last 15 months are still to be in and around the matchday squad. Whoever takes over must have total control and autonomy to select who they wish and to have the full support of the board to manage the bad eggs out of the club. If the expectation is that we just change the manager and hey presto everything changes then I think we will all be very mistaken.
  8. Marti clearly isn’t going to recover this situation with this current group of players whether that is because he hasn’t been strong enough in delivering his philosophy and getting the players to buy into it, which I believe was what we witnessed against Fiorentina, or hasn’t had the strength to manage the cliques and player power within the squad or managing upwards in particular if he is being influenced or instructed to play certain players or play a certain style. Either way his inability to manage the dynamics effectively means he is likely to lose his job as others have said it’s probably needed at this stage as we are in free fall however my anger is more directed to certain elements of the squad and decision makers who have overseen a decline in culture that has been allowed to manifest itself and the drop off in standards and results that have followed.
  9. Somebody needs to ask him a very valid question do you prefer to try and play like Man City /Barca or do you want to be successful playing exciting high intensity football that the fanbase can relate to and really get behind even when results don’t go our way.
  10. Should never play for us ever again. That 45 minutes was disgraceful but no doubt when Marti loses his job his replacement will no doubt build his side round the little helmet. His attitude has been absolute toss this season. Epitomises the massive drop off in culture and standards.
  11. Absolutely bang on Marti is a decent bloke but clearly hasn’t had the support or courage of his convictions to lay the gauntlet down to a good few. Biggest mistake he made was trying to reintegrate a wantaway Winks and Faes after the transfer window closed, since then the results in the main have tanked. At that stage we had won 3 and lost 1 now look at our record ….3 wins from the last 14 including 5 defeats. If Marti does go which I think he will and it will be announced in the next 24 hours I hope his successor has the strength and support from above to stick a few of this squad in the bomb squad. The culture at the club is horrific.
  12. 65% possession what’s wrong with you whingebags 😂
  13. Absolutely bang on the money this group of players or certainly a big proportion of them are such a deplorable group, regularly down tools and throw managers under a bus if they dare to challenge the status quo. We are in a real mess and not sure how it can be fixed until a good few of this group is gone.
  14. That defending and lack of desire for both goals conceded is 100% on the players however what that demonstrates is just how few are playing for him.
  15. Take a good few of these players with him absolute disgrace
  16. Fecking hell this could be 9 absolute dross he won’t survive this 5 goals conceded in 94 minutes of football
  17. I am not convinced by O’Neill, think he is ok short term but beyond a few months he struggles with man management and given the alleged player power here think we all know how that would end. We can all make sensible and well rounded suggestions but truth is it will be Russell Martin, has been the clubs target for 3 seasons or so is available and plays the way the board want us too. I imagine he is already lined up ready and waiting.
  18. My prediction - wheels will come off in spectacular fashion today, 1-4 defeat with Hamer, O’Hare, Bamford and then to add salt in the wounds Cannon with the goals for them. Atmosphere is toxic until 4th goes in when the ground largely empties and Marti’s departure announced some time tomorrow.
  19. Interesting because if 1.75m of men over 50 got screened it would save 3,500 lives ….. that is only 16.67% of the men who would eligible by the way.
  20. Cannot believe what I am hearing, the reasons and justifications for not implementing a national screening programme for #prostatecancer is absolutely scandalous, yet again men’s health & well being is secondary. 1,300 lives are saved every year as a result of the national breast screening programme surely this evidences the benefits of such screening programmes. Gutted for everybody involved at @ProstateUK and @prostateunited who work tirelessly to try and support men and find funding for research, testing and treatment.
  21. How I long for us to be able to go back to being a sustainably run football club with a clear model of signing young hungry players, developing our academy prospects and moving players onto bigger clubs for significant profit which is then reinvested and keeps us competitive and innovative. At the same time I want to see us develop longer term commercial arrangements with strategic partners that supporters will be proud to see on our shirts rather than these short term deals with betting/crypto companies like FBS, BC Game and KBet whilst they may on paper offer the most money in reality probably hinder and restrict our ability to maximise other commercial revenue streams including kit and merchandise sales. It seems a very short sighted business plan and model at the moment, all about the here and now to maximise revenue to enable us to fund an out of control wage bill for a squad that carries way too many bang average players who couldn’t give a toss about the club.
  22. I really cannot believe I am seeing Aluko getting any blame for the 2nd goal, he was about the only one who made any real effort to make a recovery run to prevent a goal. He was thrown under a bus for his 1st booking by Abdul and from 4 minutes in had to walk a tightrope, Saints then targeted that side knowing Fellows is a threat and that Aluko had to be careful. I actually thought up until the second yellow he had done well, but it was inevitable given how much of the ball Fellows was seeing and how we were playing that he was going to give a foul away that gave the ref a decision. The laughable bit was the inconsistency of the ref who allowed Downes to get away with two yellow card fouls in one passage of play and then to book him later, in my opinion Saints should have been down to ten however I doubt it would have made any difference as they were already comfortably ahead but it’s still frustrating.
  23. I still think the expectation was promotion, or at least to be up there challenging and. In the mix for automatic regardless of the points deduction and the fact that a good few of the squad had checked out or would be leaving at the end of the season. I think it’s fair to say that there is little evidence to suggest that there is a mid to long term project in place and it’s very much about short term, here and now objectives which absolutely makes me think that if we lose on Saturday Marti will be gone. I know there has been little from any ITK journalists but there wasn’t when Cooper was sacked somewhat out of the blue. Also given our position in the championship I am not sure we are of that much interest. However there have been a few murmurings from EFL focused social media accounts in recent weeks alluding to the fact he needed a result etc.
  24. I don’t think he survives after Saturday if we don’t win.
  25. I thought his performance was pretty positive aside from the red card. Definitely needs to continue being involved once his suspension has ended. He will learn from last night and come back better for the experience, he is a talent but as others have said with young players there will be bumps in the road and if we are genuinely serious as a fanbase that we want to see our a academy players as the cornerstone of our team moving forward then we must be supportive and accepting mistakes will happen but long term we will reap the rewards.
