  1. It would seem that way given the lack of any credible links and given we are in desperate need for a striker and didn’t blow QPR out but water to sign Kone. Interesting couple of weeks ahead
  2. It’s already been explained by @CosbehFox they are managing his injury from last season
  3. It isn’t Marti’s fault the club have failed to move these players on, we have had countless windows to shift VK, Soumare, Faes, Daka etc especially when you consider many of these were eyeing the exit door after our first relegation. Guess what they are all still here stinking the gaff out whilst we added the likes of Skipp, Reid and to a lesser degree Ayew last summer which has only made the situation worse. Years of mediocre recruitment of players on inflated fees and bloated contracts has come home to roost, the one person who cannot be held to account is Marti who know has to cobble together a competitive side from what is here and how he is being directed to utilise the resources at his disposal. Some selections will have one eye on departures and having players in the shop window. I really feel for the manager given the shit show of a squad he has inherited as a result of piss poor recruitment and an inability to move on players.
  4. I don’t either, the mis management has been appalling and even following the first relegation, little had been learnt as we continued to offer inflated transfer fees and bloated contracts to players such as Coady, Winks, Ayew, Reid and Skipp whilst failing to move on players such as Soumare, Faes, VK, Ward, Iversen etc etc. My worry and concern is that we get stuck with some of the crap on high wages stinking the place out for another season, whilst having to sell the only real quality we have for knock down prices to try and regain some semblance of financial control.
  5. I think PSR is only part of the issue if at all, I actually fear this is more about us operating as financially sustainable business, given King Powers challenges I fear Top has said he can no longer underwrite huge losses and we need to be self sufficient pronto.
  6. I recognise that but Mads gone cheaper than expected and now players like Winks, Fatawu, BEK and JJ being linked away.
  7. Starting to get a very nasty feeling that we are in a whole heap of financial distress that none of us even imagined, we have sold Mads and yet no really links to any incomings and whilst it is transfer silly season, there is a lot of rumours about clubs circling for some of our gems and links emerging for some of our higher earners who are out of contract in the summer, are we having a fire sale?
  8. Begovic Joseph Nelson Okoli Aluko Hamza Page McAteer Monga Alves Evans
  9. Because at the time we were under risk of points deduction and under the management of the tactical genius of Stephen Cooper, I imagine it was a very hard sale hence to get him here we had to agree to a sensible relegation release clause or not get him at all.
  10. Doesn’t mean it’s dead in the water my hope is now a bid has been accepted we know what we need to match.
  11. Agreed more likely to be a risk come January unless clubs feel there is a chance to capitalise on our financial position and get him on the cheap
  12. I really cannot believe many thought he would stay for a season in the championship, an established international player and one of the only ones to come out of last seasons debacle with any amount of credit. He is way too good for at least a year of playing the likes of Preston, Oxford, Charlton, Hull etc. Oh and remember his agent has been whoring him around the premier league linking him with anyone and everyone. Another one who wants out so let’s get as much as we can and hope the club invest it in players who want to be here and have the quality to take us forward. BEK is a quality player but like Winks if he stays and doesn’t want to be here I am really not sure he will be the cheat code many think or hope.
  13. Winks is outstanding when it suits, in the 2nd half of the season under Enzo when the chips were down Winks went missing as much as anyone, if we paying players the the thick end of 60k per week in the 2nd tier then they should dominate pretty much every game. In truth he is a flat track bully, who based on performances justifys a salary of no more than £30k per week max. Another Coady, Vesty, Faes etc their wages are based on past reputation rather than current performance. If we signed Winks for £6m + and gave him +£50k per week wages in the 2nd tier there would be absolute uproar on here. Get rid, reinvest and move on.
  14. I really hope like with Nigel Pearson, the club give Marti the support and time to get shut of the deadwood and dross and over time build a young hungry exciting team again. There will like under Nigel be bumps in the road but I just have a really good feeling with Marti, we are in good hands.
  15. Absolutely nailed it, I have had a gutful of overpaid primadonnas draining our club and then once every so often have a decent performance and all is forgiven. Winks probably could coast through this season but in reality when the chips are down as we witnessed under Enzo, he is just a liable to go missing. He is on over £50k a week in the championship, I would rather sell and reinvest in a couple of young upcoming midfielders than watch him turn up if and when he feels like it whilst topping up his retirement fund.
  16. Marti and the club has to get off to a flier, we have a potential points deduction on the horizon and the back drop of a number of players wanting or needing to be moved on. We are not always party to what is happening in the background and I do think that potential deals out of the club is playing a big part in team selections, whether that is protecting players from injury or playing as leverage to secure better fees etc. I am not convinced yesterdays starting line up is the way Marti will or wants to go but he will be working alongside Rudkin to ensure we end up with the players we want out the door. It must be a difficult environment to be working in at the moment as there is still a number of players actively looking to move and a good few of these are high earners. Marti is at a big disadvantage over Enzo as he is a few weeks behind where Enzo was in being able to shift the deadwood last time round, so the air of positivity was in place at the start of the season, 2nd time round in the championship and we still have a number of deadwood hanging around and also a number of established players who don’t fancy it this time around. The club need to move fast now to get rid of these players and give Marti an opportunity to bring 3 or 4 of his own in.
  17. Winks lacks the physical presence and athleticism to be our DM, yes he can control games but too often he will get bullied out of games. Our recruitment of central midfielders in the last 3/4 years has been woeful. We have accumulated a group that either can pass but not tackle, tackle but not pass or in the case of Skipp and Soumare do neither. Winks has become a better player not being in the team, yes he did well 2nd half of yesterday but for the majority of pre season he has been as crap as any. We desperately need to rip up our existing midfield and start again, so sell Winks and Soumare, buy or loan 2 physical and athletic midfielders and blood Louis Page.
  18. Best of a pretty poor bunch of central midfielders, also I seem to recall first half of the championship season he was excellent but 2nd half was bang average. Yes he made a difference today but last season he was largely anonymous. I woipd happily sell the lot of current deep lying central midfielders and start again. All are woefully under performing for what they are being remunerated.
  19. Agreed and this is where I have some sympathy with Marti, he needs to pick a team to go out and win a game from a group that contains a number of high earners all casting an eye at the exit door, with a little over 2 weeks of the transfer window left. Rudkin needs to get busy even if that means a high turnover of players by the time we get to the end of the window.
  20. I think this is a big problem for us as I truly believe there is 6 or 7 who want out and unless Rudkin can get them gone ASAP we will be stuck with some very unhappy high earners and that is a big problem as not only will it impact performances on the pitch but also severely affects our ability to bring in new players which we desperately need.
  21. Massive couple of weeks ahead, needs to move out 6 or 7 who don’t want to be here or we want out and needs to bring 3 or 4 in to freshen things up
  22. Cracking result was always going to be a difficult match given their circumstances. Fair play to Marti making changes when the 1st half didn’t go to plan, 27 efforts on goal at least show we tried to create and be positive, however I think today also shows we desperately need a midfielder and striker as we have a massive Vardy and KDH sized hole in our team from last time in this division.
  23. 😂😂😂 Faes and Vesty goalscorers 😂
  24. All I can hope for is slowly but surely the high earning leeches will be weeded out the club. I reckon Marti will have had a directive to ensure certain players are involved to ensure we maximise any transfer fee. I still think the likes of Soumare, Daka, Faes, Vestergaard, even winks get binned at the earliest opportunity but will be involved to maintain some bargaining power.
  25. Don’t have an issue with JJ being captain. Model pro and much better than having some of the others that could have been named. Great news that Monga and Page are involved, would have liked to see Nelson starting instead of Vesty and Alves and Aluko on bench but overall not too bad.
