Conor Coady sold to Wrexham - official
Claudio Fannieri replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
I reckon we will see a few move out over the next couple of weeks, I honestly think Marti used the Austria trip to assess the squad and speak to the players at length to decide who was on board and who he wants to stick around. -
Conor Coady (signed for Wrexham, official.)
Claudio Fannieri replied to Iran's topic in Transfer Talk
Good move all round, no doubt he will go there and be superb, but needs to move on from here, for whatever reason it just hasn’t worked here. If we can get some sort of fee and his full wages off the books then it’s a decent deal……one down just a few more to go -
Mads Hermansen (close to 18m move to West Ham)
Claudio Fannieri replied to MPH's topic in Transfer Talk
I have to agree, Mads is a very good goalkeeper, as is Jakub who whenever given the chance, as always been very solid and steady. if Jakub is given the starter role he will really kick on and I have no doubt that he will show he is also a top level keeper, the only reason Mads is ahead of Jakub is experience and game time, you have to remember Jakub has spent the last 2 seasons largely as a back up so hasn’t had the opportunity to play week in week out for a sustained period, once he is established and playing week in week out I think we will see we have a top level keeper in Stolrcyrk. -
James Justin (signed for Leeds, official. 10m.)
Claudio Fannieri replied to SouthStandUpperTier's topic in Transfer Talk
I really like JJ he is committed and a fantastic professional who has been very unlucky with injuries, but over the last 2 seasons shown he is over them and capable of playing a lot of games. However I also think it would be good for both parties if he moved on this summer, gives him a chance to move to new surroundings and reinvigorate his career and gives us a chance to use the fee and wages saved towards our much needed refresh. -
How excited are you for the new season?
Claudio Fannieri replied to daddylonglegs's topic in Leicester City Forum
I am in the 3-5, it’s such a mixed feeling at the moment, I am fully onboard with Marti and genuinely excited by the academy prospects but then I see the likes of Coady, Faes, Vestergaard, VK, Soumare, Winks, Ayew, Daka, BDCR, Skipp still here, all players who have either thrown in the.towel at some point or have been absolutely stealing a living on ridiculous wages and I feel my energy and enthusiasm ebb away. -
Sheff Wed -10th Aug 16:30 - First up?
Claudio Fannieri replied to Spudulike's topic in Leicester City Forum
This is absolutely heartbreaking stuff and continues to make a mockery of some of the PSR fiddles, sanctions and deductions being banded about. The football authorities have to act and fast,, last season it was Reading and now before a ball has been kicked it is Morecambe and Sheffield Wednesday who are literally being run into the ground by their owners. We have seen it happen to Bury, Macclesfield etc and the authorities largely sat on their hands and allowed it to happen, seems similar with Morecambe, and imagine if it was allowed to happen to a club the size, statue and with the rich history of Wednesday. it is absolutely digesting and heartbreaking to see what is happening at Morecambe and Sheff Wed and the impact its having on the local communities and fans. This has to be the final straw and the authorities have to have a massive kick up the arse to get a grip on these ownership issues fast. -
Electronic Season Tickets - 2025/26
Claudio Fannieri replied to SamA27's topic in Leicester City Forum
Too be fair whenever I have rang the ticket office the staff are pretty helpful and the queues to get answered aren’t too bad either. There are a lot of things to moan about bug in fairness every person I have dealt with who is employed by the club do seem like they genuinely want to help, if at all possible. -
I honestly think the fees we were able to generate for players like Maguire, Mahrez, Fofana, Chilwell even Drinkwater suddenly made the club truly believe they could sell at some sort of Leicester tax and created false expectations and valuations. That is all well and good when you continue to invest in players who have potential and they improve but as soon as you have a couple of average or poor transfer windows you are in the proverbial. We are very poor at trading, There are very few examples of where we sign a player and then within a couple of years move them on due to not being deemed good enough, too often we retain players and allow them to run their contracts down, we seem to have a boom or bust policy, we either sell for massive money or let them go for free. We have to start being more savvy and that maybe to accept that every sale cannot be £35m + sometimes we may have to sell a dud like a Soumare or Daka for a lower level of profit but be able to keep operating in the transfer market. I bet there will have been interest in Wout Faes but I guarantee rather than sell for £10m which would give us £4m clear profit and circa £16m-20m to play with in the transfer market, we will be holding out for £15m minimum and will lose any chance of doing a deal and he will then stink the place out for the next 24 months waiting to walk away for free and further hamstringing our chances of rebuilding.
-
It shows how far we have dropped and the current profile of our central midfielders that I would see Choudhury as the best option to play as a high energy destroyer and protector and then have someone like Page or Winks playing as deep lying playmaker alongside him

Mads Hermansen (close to 18m move to West Ham)
Claudio Fannieri replied to MPH's topic in Transfer Talk
Unfortunately that is one of the impacts of relegation, as we saw with both Barnes and Maddison, relegation does have a negative impact to transfer fees, hence why now it’s more likely we end up with circa £20m + add ons from West Ham, our only hope now is Newcastle gazump the offer. -
Asmir Begovic - Officially Signs
Claudio Fannieri replied to ozleicester's topic in Leicester City Forum
Best hope is Newcastle and Burnley get involved and it means we can secure £25m -
Coopers obsession with bringing in players with prem experience, cost us big time as we should have invested in younger hungry players with potential and a higher sell on ceiling. Hackney instead of Skipp, younger alternatives to Ayew and BDCR and I don’t think we would have been any worse off in regards to performance but be in a far better position going into this season with a stronger squad and more saleable assets if required.

Reckon Newcastle could be interested now they have missed out on Trafford. -
Solid signing wonder if it’s a one year player deal but option to extend to become a coach from next season.
-
I have a feeling he will have some sort of Iheanacho type of season bag 10-12 goals by Christmas, sign a pre contract deal somewhere in January and then stink out the rest of the season due to checking out. 😂
-
This is my team based on performances so far and also trying to have a high energy team, I am also assuming that Mads and Bilal leave before the start of the season. Stolycyrk Riccy Okoli Nelson Thomas Choudhury Page Fatawu Mavididi Monga McAteer subs New GK Justin Aluko Joseph Ndidi Skipp Alves Ayew Evans
-
All I hope is that this trip away has given Marti sufficient opportunity to identify who he wants to keep and to also have spoken with everyone to clearly understand who is in and who wants out and from today Rudkin is busy shifting out the deadwood to create space for new players to come in and strengthen where required. Next weeks squad vs Fiorentina will be interesting as I would imagine it will be pretty much the squad expected for the opening league match.
-
I think Fatawu and McAteer will play 45 each
-
The issue is more in relation that it sums up what has become of the club, let’s be honest aside from the sponsor which is attracting some scrutiny, this is the missed opportunity to release the new shirts ahead of the summer and maximise revenue early doors as fans buy the new shirts ahead of holidays etc. For me it’s just another own goal from the club and just continues to underline how stale and disorganised the club has become.

Phillip Billing would be a good addition in midfield if we could shift one or two of Skipp, Winks and Soumare on. He is looking for a move ahead of World Cup. Loan with an obligation could be a decent move for us.

Let hope Rangers can finish the job off next week and qualify for the next round of the Champions league and that gives them the opportunity to close out a deal for our cheerleader in chief. -
Who should be captain next season?
Claudio Fannieri replied to winteriscoming's topic in Leicester City Forum
I agree on everything you have said and on that basis Ricardo is the only sensible option, however nothing certain that he will stay. I cannot get behind Winks being any part of the captaincy team as in my opinion his behaviour last season puts him in the same category as Coady and Vestergaard. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if we move a couple on and then we bring in one or two players who have a profile of being a leader and coming in as Captain. -
I can see him having a little purple patch at some point this season where he goes on a run of bagging 7/8 goals and then securing a pre contract move in January before stinking the place out again until he leaves in the summer. just got to hope one of the promoted clubs or lower half prem team come in and offer £5m + significant add ons and take his full wages on.
