I wrote weeks ago I was checking out of watching games until the playoff games. Reads like a good call, who needs the misery?

Promotion this season would be a disaster. This team with nothing to spend in the Summer and a need to sell to raise some money to offset against losses accrued would be cannon fodder week in and week out in the EPL. Starting with a points deduction Derby County's low point record season would not stand another year. I'd rather the team get to the play off final and lose, that'd rake in a bit more money. This side have a hope of staying up in the Championship next season, even with a points deduction that they do not have in the EPL. Get rid of all the high wage players like Vardy and Ndidi and even injury troubled Ricardo. It is only by rebuilding with players on £10k to £40k a week that the club has any chance of a stabilising the finances. That is where we were at in 2014. Leicester City is the latest club to fall into the chasing the dream and coming a financial cropper. Blackburn spent big won the title and got burned, Bolton spent big won nothing and got severely burned, Leeds spent big won nothing and got burned and we spent big after winning the title and are presently burning. That is the only difference, our fall being after the fact but the result will be the same. Years in the wilderness, I'd guess that will be at least another 10 years.

Was Dennis Wise at the game?
-
Indeed it was. It was a long time ago now.

Dave Nugent commentating........ He is watching a different game. Talking about 'we'' were playing good football, comfortably in control. Reminds me of his shinned playoff final goal.

No leaders on the pitch in blue. Who was the genius who came up with this pass around the back crap?

You have to wonder how you can lose £80mn on the back of selling Fofana and Madders for over £100mn. There must be a money waste chute somewhere. According to the Guardian who do tend to be pretty accurate on football matters there could be a recruitment ban on the club this Summer with enforced sales of most valuable playing assets topped off by starting next season on negative points. This current team would get handed its arse week in week out in the EPL so whichever way, EPL or Championship, next season isn't one to look forward to. All to ensure the magic 6 retain their protected status.

I was expecting a late goal.

Its a simple tactic, try to bore everyone to death. The paying punters, the opposition, the team, the officials and when everyone is nodding off hope the opponents don't notice the occasional pass forward.
-
People forget that we have no money and are facing points deduction next season whichever league we find ourselves in. Lots of players leaving in the Summer with no money to spend on replacements. Any incoming manager will be looking at emulating Ian Holloways achievements.

If we pick our best team for this, according from our forum Match Ratings: That'll be 2 goalkeepers, 4 defenders and 5 midfielders. No wonder we can't score goals and the best play is the back pass.

Fearless foxes became pussies. The team need to be rebuilt around Hermansen with 10 new bodies. There is no spine to the current team, every team needs a functioning spine.

Forgot to watch the game today, I'll tune if next for the playoff games.

The last time we gained promotion we had players like Vardy, Mahrez, Schmeichel, Morgan, King, Ulloa. None really Premiere League tried and tested but I'd rather that team than this team with its many Premiere league experienced player. We could play strike football in 2013, today its pass ball to usually nowhere in particular.

Burnley finished on 101 points last season. It shows points in the Championship means nothing in the EPL.

Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'
Bazly replied to ClaphamFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
Whoever agreed to these rules were in the pockets of the leading clubs hell bent on bolting on their future invincibility built on past spending sins, both Chelsea and Man City were both relegation fodder teams back in the not too distant past days. But, they are locked in now while any teams remotely attempting a tried and tested means of the fast cash fuelled rise get crashed and burned. -
Bad news for you, when in a losing position you have to be able to score to be still in the game.
-
Seeing Ward on the team sheet says we aren't taking this game seriously.
-
It'd be more surprising to ask is he fit and playing again.
-
Play off football is exciting, you could never forget that Knockart moment even if you wanted to. Lets embrace it.
-
It'll be a useful marker game to see how we stack up to the reserve team from a mid table EPL side.
-
I don't think this team is remotely capable of staying in the EPL beyond one season so I wouldn't be upset if we did a full rebuild with lower wage players in the Championship. Top scorer this season Vardy who couldn't score in the last 2 years in the EPL and he is 18 months older. Ndidi is on his way out. No striker of note to take on any EPL defences. Our best player is Lurch and he was dire in the EPL being as slow as he is. I fear for next season, it will be a real horror show where we struggle with our 10 man defence to breach the half way line. 90 minute backs to the wall defending will prove very embarrassing.

There are now 4 sides odds on to be promoted this season, who would figure?
