  1. Was just coming on here to see if anyone had posted about the pitch I’ve never seen it look as bad as this
  2. It’s hands down my favourite event ever despite my trip to hospital last year as I fell over a tree…… Still no 100% on going but will see how I feel in the morning.
  3. I’m meant to be running Round Sheffield Round tomorrow - 11 timed stages with recovery in between. The overall elevation is over 2000ft and with my wave starting at 9am I can only seeing this being a disaster. It’s a lot of trail running, steep steps and inclines with insane downhills. It’s an incredible event but I’m not sure my body is up for it.
  4. I hear ya! I have always a 26 minute parkrunner but only just hitting a sub 30, having to run walk and feel like I’m going backwards. I had a nightmare today at parkrun and just couldn’t get going but my watch told me I’m overreaching. Great.
  5. I want the media circus of Wrexham out the way early on.
  6. Officially registered for next years London marathon as part of team Bodie Hodges! (just the small matter of Chester marathon in October to get through….)
  7. Random fact but I have this image framed and signed by Steve Walsh.
  8. Went to the new parkrun over in Swadlincote this morning….first lap makes you question your life choices but the next 2 aren’t too bad. I think in the right conditions it has PB potential (I can’t run ‘fast’ on flat courses, undulating for the win!)
  9. The more I read about JV, Sunday, Leicester the more I realise I’m just not ready to say goodbye
  10. George Taft originally sprung to mind but I think it was more of a case that he didn’t live up to his own hype.
  11. I said the same. I reckon they’ll struggle a fair bit.
  12. I have a cracking scar on my knee from that parkrun as I fell over there last year.
  13. It’s not as tough as you think! It’s the most magical marathon and the best advice I can give you to look behind you. There’s only 3 climbs and a lot of downhill. Everyone apart from the winner walks the 3rd climb but be warned….the descent from that one is hairy! Eryri was my PB course for a while and I found it quicker than Brighton. It really is a brilliant marathon and the finish line at Llanberis is amazing. I’m actually really jealous
  14. 100% Vardy. It would have been insane!
  15. After a really tough few months and an abysmal parkrun yesterday, I’m chuffed to bits to have managed a 55 minute 10K. Considering my PB is 54 minutes and set 6 years ago I’m good with that today. I’ve also been offered a London place for next year through a local Leicester based charity so operation ‘sort my s*** out’ has begun
  16. After my moan above, yes, there was fighting in the stands between our own fans.
  17. Wolves fans are disgusting. Call us all the names you want but don’t spit. Absolute scummy behaviour.
  18. In my head I knew this was coming but my heart quite simply isn’t ready
  19. Highly unlikely to make my priority point bracket so if anyone decides not to go and has 2 tickets, please think of me
  20. Faes. BDCR. Wow. Honestly Ruud does make me chuckle
  21. I’m always cautious of overestimating my ability and normally end up cursing myself for starting too far back! This is why I like Conkers as you line up in approximate finish times.
  22. 90th different parkrun location today and I’m slowly creeping back to a decent time for a 46 year old mum of 2
  23. Once you enter the finish funnel, timekeepers record your position and finish time then you’re given a finish token - the token crew are at the end of the funnel. You stay in order, take a token and then go and get scanned. Even if the person with your barcode finishes after you, your finishers token will record your finish time. I sometimes get my barcode scanned 10 minutes after I’ve finished as I’ve gone to meet the child or made my mileage up and my time is still my finish token time. It’s also worth noting that your time is from when they say go and not when you cross the start. I hope that makes sense!
  24. I’ve messaged the teenager suggesting she calls it quits and come home early. I’m glad I don’t do night games ( I’m an in bed by 9pm kinda gal! Just wow.
