  1. The Capture on iplayer. Series one was great and two was epic. A couple of episodes in on series 3 and pretty good as far.

    The Weather

Some of the best times of my life have involved being greasy and sticky. I'm all for it, tbh
  3. Great topic - thanks for starting it @MC Prussian I think I've yet to find an artist/painting that I would consider to be a favourite. I suppose that is half the point of art - it evolves and you evolve. I have spent a fair amount of time in galleries, and one of the (increasingly few) benefits of living in and around London is easy access to some pretty cool exhibitions. In my 20's I was a little obsessed with Van Gogh and Dali - and managed to see a few works on my travels. Then I thought it might all be a bit twee and I was being duped by hype. But 30's, 40's and beyond bring different perspectives. So I visited some lesser known artists works that were (imo) a bit shite. But I looked at them in a vaguely frowny, critical manner that I assumed showed that I knew what I was looking at. And many many years on I still have no clue. I am massively impressed with some of the above works and the descriptions/feeling they invoke. On our wall at home we have a couple of copies of Modigliani paintings, a cool graffiti art pastiche of a Mondrian, some scenic originals from local artists and an artists proof of a Rolf Harris that I'm not entirely sure what to do with I do, however, always come back to...

Fkn millennial poll...where's New Kids on the Block??
  5. What's blue and not very heavy?
  6. What did the drummer call his daughters? Anna one, Anna two....
  7. Some solid plans here. A lot of folks pretty well sorted for their old age. I don't really have any plans to retire - I'll likely just take longer holidays between work stuff. And if I get bored with that I'll probably become a postman. Seems to be low pressure, sociable, gets you out of the house and finish early. Even where I live they all seem fairly cheerful. You get your steps in and will have a lifetime supply of rubber bands as a little bonus...
  8. Yeah, to be fair, I assumed it wasn't all your own work
  9. Blimey! Thanks mate. (You've clearly been hanging around certain dodgy car dealers for too long...)
  10. It’s certainly brightened the street up!
  11. A bit of car p0rn happening near me. Fella across the road has suddenly produced these outside his house. Anyone know much about these - years, value, rarity, etc

    Houses

Great news, mate One thing I didn't do when we moved was change the address on my V5 - it ended up costing me a £350 fine I contacted DVLA prior to moving but didn't realise that I also had to update the address on the cars registration docs. Sounds fairly obvious once you know, but in and amongst all the important stuff you do when you move, I didn't even think of it. (I did ask the DVLA if they honestly thought that I'd left my car at the old house as some kind of moving in gift to the new owners)
  13. You're going to have to think of something to do in the dark, Deb...
  14. The mate I was with ordered us a couple. It was ok, nothing special. But we were quite a few beers in by that stage. I've been going to The Rake for years, and didn't realise it was owned by the same guys that have Utobeer - the mad canned beer place in the market. I got talking to a couple of blokes at the next table and they turned out to be the owners (and they actually had the good grace to apologise for the price of the twenty quid beer)!
  15. This is what a £20 pint looks like
  16. A few of us are looking to do a Eurotrip for one of the F1 weekends. Has anyone been to the Belgian GP before? Any advice on the best way to travel there and places to stay would be greatly received
  17. Ya looney...!!!
  18. I was supposed to be in Barbados this week - boys trip for my best friends birthday. But he went and popped his clogs. I'm incredibly annoyed with him - as well as the fact that I will miss him hugely.
  19. I’ve just booked into a hotel in Hinckley, of all places, for the festive period. Ffs. Hopefully not as grim as it sounds, but my hopes aren’t high. Spending Christmas with about 25 family members, and thankfully not hosting this year. (reckon we could dip out for a sneaky 9 holes @tom27111 and @Izzy ? - I’ll be sick of my lot and ready for it by about 1pm)!

    Nickname(s)

I’ve worked with a few… Polo (as in there was a bit missing. He was mad). He actually had a certificate of sanity that the company doctor had created for him. He believed it and would present it whenever he was called out as being a total fvcking lunatic. Razor (once attacked a colleague with a razor. Less dramatic than it sounds as he used a bic safety razor) Melon (surname was Colley). Eventually he was just referred to as Mel. Which I’m sure most people just assumed was his real name. Weird how it happens, innit. Thrushie (originally Thrush, as he was an irritating cnut) Camel (a young lady - shortened from camel-toe Jo) And I was known as Cowboy for a good few years!
  21. Joshua was as bad as Liam
  22. Oh I agree. But they do own boxing. And I think it’s better to be here than there…and to show what boxing can be like.
  23. Saying that - I think it’s not a bad idea to show the Saudi’s what an atmosphere is…
  24. Jeez - that was bad from Liam
  25. @Wymsey is an actual Will, if I recall correctly. And, to be fair, he has a better chance of beating Arsenal than the current glorious leader of our beloved football club. So, gerrimin, is what I say. Go Wymsey.
