  1. On a not too dissimilar note, I played Cards Against Humanity at the weekend with friends...and our 15 year old joined in. Absolute rite of passage - although I'm not sure he's ever going to look at his mother in the same light again, or be able to play pac man
  2. F1 interesting for about a nanosecond there.
  3. What’s the point? Depressing
  4. Currently on Safari… …in Kent! It’s absolutely bucketing down with rain, animals are all quite sensibly staying indoors, kids have gone feral and the whole place makes Center Parcs look cheap. Apart from that, all good. 👍
  5. Took me a minute
  6. Yeah, agree re their keeper. I really meant our MOTM.
  7. First team that really tried to attack us at home. Fair play. Never really felt threatened. I’m not sure who the MOTM was, but Casadei is certainly in with a shout.
  8. Happy to watch a team that come to play
  9. Do you go out there on your own, or with partners/group of mates? I would go, but wife isn’t interested and mates can be a tad flakey. But going on my own seems a bit…sad! Or is more of a normal thing than I’m thinking?
  10. Watched first two episodes last night. Didn’t really know much about it before we watched it. It’s certainly intriguing, it’ll be interesting to see how it pans out. Well worth a watch, imo
  11. Phones are banned if we’re watching a movie. Wife and kids have to put them in another room. 💪
  12. I’ve been asked to do some work for the Leicester Oktoberfest at the end of the month. Anyone ever been before - any good?!
  13. Fvck it. It’s just gone on. 13 degrees in the house, and I’ve been in and out of fridges for most of today. And I’m cold
  14. This was taken this evening. Anyone else think these cloud patterns are a bit weird? Kind of spiral columns built on spiral columns… And if you zoom in to the bottom ones that are holding the rest up, well, 🤯
  15. I’d actually be quite happy to stay in the Championship and win it each year
  16. Got a parking ticket. £130 for parking on double yellow lines. Apparently. I might just be appealing it 🙄
  17. https://news.sky.com/story/factory-worker-who-put-rubber-gloves-and-metal-ring-pulls-in-food-supplied-to-nandos-is-jailed-12975824 Bon Appetit 😕
  18. Rory should concentrate on his golf. Can’t go whipping up the crowd one minute and then losing your sh1t when it comes back at you the next. Bring on tomorrow

Cellar sounds perfect. I’d recommend looking on eBay or similar for a starter brewing kit. You’ll need a fermenter and a keg (or bottles, but they’re more of a faff), a kit to get you started and a few other things like a keg brush and steriliser and airlock. And a few big pots and pans to get started with. Full mash is where you do everything from scratch, so you buy the grain and hops and boil it all up. Some of the kits make it easier by providing liquid malt extract (LME) which cuts out some of the mash stage. Which is a better option to start off with. Hop additions go in at different times during the boil to do different things (bitterness/aroma) and then cool it and pop it into the fermenter with some yeast. After a week or so you can add it to the keg and then a week or so later you can drink it!

Impressive. And do you do your own dentistry?
  21. I can find information on here on how to make ice cream, pizzas and the best ever braised red cabbage...but not much about the more serious pursuit of home brewing. So - feel free to share your experiences, both good and bad, of dabbling in the homebrew world. And if you are a brewer, share recipes and tips and tricks. And for those who have though about it, but not yet taken the plunge, maybe a chance to ask questions and sample the goodies (location depending, obvs). I've been doing it for about 6 years. I started with pots and pans and then progressed a little. I do full mash brews and hybrid brews, using LME when I can't be arsed with a 5 hour brew day. Things I haven't done as I'm not hugely interested are sour beers and lagers (although I was at a brewery recently in the States that did some delicious sour beers, so I may have to revise my negativity towards making them). Things I haven't done but would like to try include making a decent stout, playing around with water profiles and experimenting with different types of yeast (I'm a bit reluctant to bugger up an entire brew by faffing around with experimental yeasts, so usually just stick to a couple of tried and tested ones). As well as brewing for myself, I also do some stuff for parties and the occasional festival. There's a small collective of home brewers where I live that very occasionally meet up to sample commercial beer and work on a reverse engineering strategy on how to brew the ones we like. With mixed results, it must be said! Always sociable evenings and always very good fun. Current equipment is: Grainfather A couple of SS conical fermenters Corny kegs and tower set up Water boiler A man cave to enjoy it all in
  22. I’m starting to enjoy watching us is again… Its been aaaaaaages
  23. I’ve just re-read my comment and it comes across as a bit defensive of the c***. Which clearly it wasn’t meant to 😬 I think my expectations were that after such a high profile outing of him, there would be wall to wall coverage of claims of sexual assault/abuse across all media outlets. But the documentary and newspaper revelations of the other night seems to have not had the obvious impact that I thought it would, with the intention being that other victims would come forward. But obviously there may be evidence gathering behind the scenes. And maybe, rightly, they have indeed come forward but to the police, rather than the newspapers. In summary, then, my point was entirely pointless!
  24. There doesn’t seem to be the tsunami of allegations coming out the woodwork that I thought there would be, tbh.
