  1. Top contenders (along with Chelsea) for worst fans in the 80s.
  2. Keith Weller conditions! We're going to be a main draw on MoTd
  3. This is why God-fearing folk like me become gambling addicts.
  4. Watford fan at work is certain they're going to sign Iheanacho from Sevilla.
  5. There's a video of someone water-skiing behind a van. It really needed a mock shark in the water.
  6. More and more people are affected by the "walking slowly glued to the smartphone" habit. FFS if you absolutely must catch up email/insta/twitter whatever, just move to one side and let others past.
  7. Even Hartley-Brewer is telling Musk to back off.
  8. A well-run club would advise its players to avoid paying attention to "noise" on social media platforms. So there is a danger they do read this forum! Has to be said, this forum/fanbase seems to work out our best and worst players fairly accurately, and long before the manager cottons on... Not sure why that should be.
  9. I'd like to see the likes of Cartwright, Joseph, Golding and Alves in the team. Give us a chance to see what they're made of. Too early for Monga?
  10. A good result against the Rs (given we're at home, why not?) and we've got some confidence to carry into the next couple of games... This is our do or die month.
  11. Ok, it's not technically the longest, October is. But are we going to get any points? Cup game at QPR, then we have two home games. Chance of points there? Won't be easy, Palace then Fulham. Finished off by an away game against Spurs. We could struggle to get even two points. I'm going to predict six points, two wins are possible. But I'm deluded...
  12. Tend to agree. VK often gets flack on here, but his passing can be superlative. We will miss his influence on our game.
  13. As someone said, entirely possible that injuries have forced these changes. Shame, I was hoping for a more settled side.
  14. Luckily the residents of London are well aware that it's the national government who are responsible for crime and policing, which is probably why Khan has been elected three times. The one issue where he's seen as responsible - ULEZ and the congestion charges - are where he gets criticism from people living on the outer parts of London (or driving in), but those in much of London are in favour of a cleaner environment (particularly for their kids). Of course it helps if you have a good public transport system so no need to drive a polluting car.
  15. I just hope he keeps the same team. Once he starts making changes, it'll be Goodnight out and Ayew in, maybe an unfit N'Didi.
  16. Playing for a PL team is giving him "a chance". And fair does, he's looking as though he "may" become top notch [note the "may" which you missed in the first post]
  17. I'd compare him to Modric. Except the ceiling may be even higher.
  18. We're showing signs of playing as a team again. Trouble is all the teams we play in January - Villa, Palace, Fulham, Spurs - could destroy us if they are on their game. We have to hope at least a couple of those don't show up on the day (looking at Spurs in particular) and we can snatch a couple of wins. At least there is now a glimmer of hope.
  19. Good you found plenty of places open. A lot of pubs in Central London close for Christmas week as their core customer base, the commuters, are not around. Agree that Fitzrovia is a good night zone, still busy but avoids the worst of Covent Garden/Soho.
  20. The problem (stretching the definition there) is there are so many attractive coastlines around England, Wales and Scotland. Why go to Lincs when there are better options around? At least there are sandy beaches, but the North Sea isn't great climate wise much of the year. I currently go down to Hastings quite a lot, and from hill walks, to cosy pubs with real fires and lots of live music places and festivals throughout the year, I love the place. One thing it doesn't have is a sandy beach. If I wanted to go further afield (I live in London) then the south west, Devon and Cornwall would appeal. Having said that, , my Dad's family were from Grimsby so I wouldn't rule out going one last time to Cleethorpes.
  21. Seems like their "night of the long knives" is arriving sooner than expected!
  22. back to the late 80s. Forest riding high...we're struggling and saying goodbye to our top striker. Yuk.
  23. We could have a grand alliance with the Cybermen, Daleks and the Master, and I still wouldn't fancy our chances tonight.
  24. No reserve GK? Doesn't seem legit.
  25. The anti-Leicester?
