This was a bit of a shock, as I was a fan of the series Foyles' War. Michael Kitchen was born and raised in Leicester.

There's something I particularly hate about election campaigns (and it appears to be getting worse). We are spoon fed images of the politicians doing things they don't normally do like driving fork lifts or using paddle boats. We're voting on whether we think the politician has the necessary attributes to run the country in the way we prefer. Not whether we think they look good trying to play football or sail across Windermere or some other meaningless activity.

They do say every man has their price....

Don't have fond memories of the bloke, but that is an amazing statement. And he's right. If Nottm Forest offered me 10k to start supporting their team, I'd just laugh.

Tell me about it. Came down with covid at the weekend (and tested positive today). It's not just I've lost my appetite, it's very painful to swallow any food. I've been farting like a trooper though even if nothing is being passed.

Oh great. So we can't appoint a new manager until July.
-
Chelsea signed Luiz twice.

I'm preparing myself for all the propaganda and gloating if Chelsea have a good start to the new season.

Any evidence for this assertion? I'm in my 60s and have found the majority of youngsters to be polite and hard-working. It's generally the youngsters who keep things ticking over, delivering stuff, building the new properties etc. They do have some faults - they find it hard to cope with change or map finding - but I've never seen evidence of the 18-25 crowd being work shy or lazy.

Leicester fan owned bars/pubs outside of the county
SkidsFox replied to Stadt's topic in Leicester City Forum
It's not a bar, but a shop. The owner of Bookseller Crow near Crystal Palace park is a Leicester man. -
Betting suspended on next Chelsea manager. Looks like a third (or is it fourth) dollop of Mourinho.

What could possibly go wrong?

The answer is obvious. Get an AI creation in, a blend of Cloughie, Jock Wallace, Pearson and Ranieri.

I couldn't eat a whole one.

Suspect there'll be a lot of this type of pic.

Starmer promising to "stop the Chaos". Quite a clever slogan. (Whether or not he can deliver is another matter).
-
Why didn't he either make the announcement indoors, or get one of his helpers to hold an umbrella above him? Basic lack of judgement.

Has to be said we're more likely to be fighting against relegation this coming season, particularly if players like KDH, JV and Kelechi are no longer here. Can't blame Enzo if he wants to avoid a scrappy relegation battle, although that could happen at several clubs I suppose.

Apart from going to the tournament itself, where do people like watching this type of event? Back in the day I'd head for a Spanish city, and watch games in a local bar where the drinks were cheap, and free tapa/snacks provided. It helped that sunny warm weather was almost guaranteed. I may head to a Brit resort this time, at least for a few days, and hope to find a budget bar to watch the games.

Claudio Ranieri retires from football management
SkidsFox replied to stu's topic in Leicester City Forum
The last great manager. -
This is the problem with boxing. Ideally they'd both retire after earning x million for this fight. No amount of future earnings will compensate for the brain damage and other health issues that further knocks to the head will cause.

Did anyone else feel a bit dirty clicking on that link? Tbf it doesn't look the worst forum I've seen out there. But I'll still avoid going there again.

Move on (but include this example for future cvs and examples for interview questions). Not all innovations that save time/money are adopted by existing regimes. I had a temp/contract once with a national prop services company. They had a system that took around 7 hours to run on Excel/vba, summarizing performance data by site. I showed their management team it would take just 5 minutes to run using database scripting. The regional managers were not interested - they were used to the delay in producing stats and preferred it that way as it allowed them to investigate/find excuses etc. Don't get upset if your change does not get rolled out nationally. You may be up against vested interests. And even if it does get adopted, don't assume you'll get a big reward. Keep working at introducing more efficient processes, then try and see if you can sell your services on the market. You're unlikely to gain huge financial rewards for one change for this employer, and as mentioned legally they will own the IP.

Makes sense for Kel, seeing as he's one of the players Enzo prefers not to select if at all possible (see also Canon, Souttar and Albrighton). Maybe Villa, after seeing a back-in-form Youri, think we have some fine players but just mis-manage them (and they could be justified in that view to an extent)

I quite admire the folk who buy up tickets or programmes in the hope of making an online killing.
