  1. He's made himself a career out of it. The Bob Reid of journalism.
  2. I liked him. He never had a run...but also could never follow up a decent cameo performance with a second. He never therefore grabbed his chance. Contrary to this pantomime villain nonsense, I met him with my daughter briefly after that friendly in Germany (under Cooper) and he was, superficially at least, a very mature and decent and polite young fella. The move will do him good and I'm firmly in that minority that wishes him every success
  3. You know, I'm absolutely sick to death of 'experienced players'. Compare and contrast Jordan James, BEK, Bounanotte against Coady and Ayew and Bob. Give me Page to Skipp, Howell to Burns, MacFarlane to Thomas.
  4. It's partly how the club should be styling itself for a potential buyer - that there's a conveyor belt of lads that inside two years could yield a combined 60m+, should the new owner choose to cash it in
  5. Excellent again 👏
  6. He was, as always, a passenger. Simple flicks around the corner on the 6 or 7 times he touched it. Never a turn, never a feint, never checks, nor chops feet.. never takes that extra touch. Always a quick lay off or flick to avoid an embarrassing dispossession It's exactly what a competent Sunday morning player would do if they were parachuted into a professional team. It's imposter syndrome. He's just surviving, hanging on in there hoping to god nobody notices. What the manager and assistants and coaches and analysts sees in him, goodness only knows
  7. weak as an adjective doesn't nearly do it justice. Wings of a butterfly is the nearest power level I can think of .
  8. It comes to something that if given the choice between Bob and Thomas, I'd take Thomas every time
  9. Aside from the point he's not a professional level player, he has that foul smelling stench of defeat about him. His anti-aura permeates and soaks into every nerve, sinew and tissue of the club.
  10. Yeeeesss, get stuffed Rangers! Garbage
  11. This is all assuming there has been a deadline set. This is Ben Jacobs we're talking about. I've followed him since he 'burst' onto the scene from nowhere a couple of years ago. My best guess is that he's a professional guesser. An educated guesser. His stories are usually plausible but he's never broke anything that you couldn't have worked out for yourself.
  12. Clear as day innit? Jack grealish vibes
  13. He looked broken. But he's he's a defacto Leicester lad and deserves a bit of support. I'll take his errors over an 46 year old palace /. Southampton reserve keeper all day
  14. I think supporters know. The problem is that coaches, analysts and managers who devote their lives to studying the game don't seem to know. Basically the Dunning Kruger effect, but in reverse.
  15. Howell, Page, Braybrooke, Aluko (hope he's ok, didn't look too good), Joseph in a quick cameo all refreshing. Fit, quick, enthusiastic, eager, progressive, technical. Watson a step behind Alves ATM, but he's a couple of years younger.. MacFarlane, well, needs a bit of time. Same as Bristic. Poor Jakob looks broken and needs a bit of TLC.
  16. Well, I kinda like him. He'll be a net loss and more upsettingly, a net gain for a woeful Derby County that's just settling into its long term life as a Huddersfield or Preston type club.. Yea, he had his COVID party, but so did Wes. You can't reproach Hamza and eulogise Wes. As for drink drinking, hmm, same goes for Wes too. Weren't too many complaints about that. As in aside, the brief interaction I once had with him (when he stood for a pic with one of my kids) he seemed a polite, socially assured fella.
  17. The body of work Paul McCartney has created,.well, words fail. This was released, what, just 13 years after he came into prominence. It's hard to get your head around the output and creative ingenuity he had.
  18. For me it's little basic things.. In a parallel universe, Caleb Okoli plays for Charlton or Preston or Millwall, Wins headers, makes blocks and boots the ****ing thing 60 yards into row Z immediately after.. And we all say, that ****ing center half for them was colossal, we ought to sign him.
  19. On nothing but a hunch, but I think this goes one of two ways. He jacks it after the transfer window and walks..Or,.he has a 'road to Damascus' moment, and starts to manage pragmatically (which I think he's well capable of)
  20. Strange man. I was a fortnightly visitor at the forge. Never saw him speak to a punter..not once. Odd.
  21. Looking forward to it. There's a chance that Luke Thomas will be rested and we have a welcome and much needed game off from him
  22. Possession based football. local sponsors being refused (until yesterday).. refusing to sell tickets to fans. 4231. .Fictitious gambling and Forex sponsors .Gold all over the kit. More possession.. Blue shorts. Clapped out spurs,.then Southampton now Ipswich cast offs on huge contracts. More 4231. Lightweight players. Luke Thomas. Huge contracts for Luke Thomas. Glamour friendlies versus teams less famous than us (usually losing a key player to an ACL). That wretched pre match video. More possession football. The away priority system that locks out all but the insane or over 90s. 4231 again. Bob Reid. Radio Silence from the club executive.. Macquarie. 5000-1. We promote. 4231 possession based football. exhausting. Over and over and over again. Purgatory.
  23. ...decide to say to a supportive boss who's backed you all the way; 'boss, I've lost you over half a billion quid and my decisions have all but destroyed your football club... I appreciate your support (and all the promotions you've given me) but it's right I step down and move on'
  24. Bob arriving on the socials, admin left him til last, presumably as a macabre 'surprise' ..ike the grim reaper.
  25. Whelan will be spinning in her proverbial grave. A sponsor?! .a LOCAL sponsor?!! her entire existence was built around her pandering to 'thai culture' and to shoo businesses like that away from his lordship
