Benefit of the doubt for Martí until 5 or so games after the window shuts. He needs time to settle with this group of players. So much turbulence behind the scenes. It will get better I’m sure.

Time to swallow some pride and welcome him back in. Once the window shuts he’ll realise that his best way of securing a good move next summer will be playing and playing well. He’s our only CM that wants the ball, for Christ’s sake. It’s a pretty important trait!

Main issue with Ayew up top is teams will just do what Preston have done today, sit 5 men up high and compress the centre of the pitch knowing that nobody is ever going to run in behind. Daka to come on to stretch the line will give us the space to control the game centrally.

All the ifs, buts, and maybes with the Winks/RVN situation are completely pointless. He signed a contract, his employer tried to get him to do something that wasn’t specified in the original contract. It’s as simple as that. It’s a job at the end of the day. Family always comes first. Just because they earn millions a year doesn’t mean they’re exempt from having rights under employment law.

Agreed. I think people really need to temper their expectations with the young lads and their playing time. They look brilliant, yes, but will still need bedding in. 46+ games in a season is insane for a 16 year old. Even Monga, who from a purely technical aspect is already good enough to start, probably won’t consistently for a while. We’re still talking about literal children here, their bodies are still growing, and the sports science team will absolutely be all over managing their minutes. think as fans it’s going be tricky to remain patient after what we’ve seen this pre-season

Still no Abdul. They’re obviously being very careful with him but I hope he gets enough game time to be ready for the start of the season.

Deserves to have played more this year and I think it would have benefitted both him and Vards. Vards has started every PL game this year and you can tell, he’s nowhere near up to it. Should have rotated more like Enzo did last year. only the champ but when Patson had a run of 9 starts last year he scored 7 and assisted 3. Vardy completed 1 pass in 60 mins at Everton, 6 touches, 0 duels won. Daka in 80 mins yday - 19 passes (2 key), 41 touches, 6 duels won. At the moment, Daka offers more in general play and should be given a couple of starts, just to see how he gets on. I think we look better with him in the team. Vards’ minutes need to be handled better by RVN. Don’t care who you are - 1 goal in 8 starts deserves dropping!

I agree, but that conversation has to happen in a different setting surely? Take him aside during/after training, not lay into him in front of the whole squad immediately after a loss that he’s not even been a part of?
