  1. How many did Heskey score? Im guessing it was a shed load of assists?!
  2. For Newcastle, anyone not born there is a foreign!!!!
  3. This season shows those who dont get it the importance of home support. You could argue we have benefitted from the lack of home fans when we play away too. The way refs crap themselves when the howling home fans get on there backs. The fact that someone is ahead of Manure in the penalty table for the first time since 2017/18 is testament to that (us by the way LOL). BTW not being able to sort our pitch out for our style of football hasnt helped either. It usually looks like a snooker table but this season seems to be cutting up. All in all, home or away form means sweet FA this season.
  4. It was understandable for fans to be sceptical when foreign owners take over, Just ask Hull fans regarding the Allams, Sisu at Coventry and Ashley at Newcastle to name but three. Somehow, we were blessed with Khun Vichai as his entourage. From blessing our players with Budhist monks before games to freebies at the stadium, these were obviously a different type of owner. They still want seem to want to build our club with the training facility being the latest marker. The womens team is another that seems to have focus and just gained promotion whilst the situation in setting up a base in Belgium with Oud-Heverlee Leuven is a bit of a master stroke. Hopefully we can unearth the Hazards and De Bruyne`s of the future before they make it! RIP Boss, we`ll still be talking about you in decades to come!!!
  5. I thought he was our best player yesterday. He did some decent things in a poor performance.
  6. A big pitch at West Ham, Maddison back, Riccardo bombing down the right all means he is set for to bag a double.
  7. With the likes of Ndidi and Kelechi back Thursday night, Riccardo and Maddison lacking game time and Caglar inexplicably missing due to friggin Covid. yesterdays game a bit too soon. Against West Ham though, I really think we will be ready. Riccardo has to play RB to deal with an in-form and pacey Lingard. Ndidi needs to win the battle with Soucek and I reckon we will grab what we need, Kasper Riccardo - Fofana - Evans - Caglar - Castagne Ndidi - Tielemans Kelechi - Maddison Vards If Caglar is still injured, Id switch to a 442. Amartey isnt good enough in a 5 and gets caught out way too much. His distribution is poor too IMO. I`d look at adding a central midfielder, possibly creative like Praet instead of Cags if injured. West Ham 1-3 Leicester
  8. 11/04/21 - PRL - West Ham United - Leicester City 18/04/21 - FAC - Leicester City - Southampton 22/04/21 - PRL - Leicester City - West Bromwich Albion 26/04/21 - PRL - Leicester City - Crystal Palace 01/05/21 - PRL - Southampton - Leicester City 08/05/21 - PRL - Leicester City - Newcastle United 11/05/21 - PRL - Manchester United - Leicester City 15/05/21 - PRL- Chelsea - Leicester City 23/05/21 - PRL - Leicester City - Tottenham Hotspur We really need to almost cement the top 4 by Man Utd. I'm not fearful of getting points from the last three games but we really need to take advantage of games like WBA, Palace, Newcastle and Southampton.
  9. Not that bothered, especially with Chelsea losing. The International break has stifled our momentum, especially with 3 mad games for many players. Cags missing was huge today, not only defensively but the way he carries the ball out. We really missed some aggression in defence today. The positives are that Maddison and Riccardo got some minutes in the bank, its one of those games few thought we would win out of the way and we can refresh, regroup and get ready for the run in.
  10. "The 'Big Six' clubs in the Premier League (Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham) had a collective matchday income of £495m in 2018-19, which represented 73% of the total made in the Premier League" The quote above which was within the tabloids as the pandemic hit indicates that we wont be hurting as much as most around us in the league table. The other thing to look at is the assets of what I now call the "Big 7" (We deserve to be in amongst them due to our consistency over the recent years). How many of those teams around us have the playing assets we have? I genuinely would not swap squads with anyone. We have so many players who have plenty of improvement ahead but even today would command a huge fee. We will sell one Im almost certain, not out of necessity to balance the books but a mixture of the player wanting to earn more. Apart from Real Madrid and Barca, every club sells there best players sooner or later anyway so we shouldn't somehow feel we are any different. Thankfully, our recruitment is so good we havent felt the player losses as much as others.
  11. Great to hear he has signed a new deal. Totally deserved and now we have a live option for an FC and even in the no 10 role. To me, release clauses and buy out clauses don't mean so much when a player doesn't want to leave. Vardys was triggered by Arsenal, he spoke to them, even went to London with the family to look at schools for the kids but stayed put. Kante had a clause if a CL club came in but ended up going to a side who didn't meet the clause criteria! Chilwell, Drinkwater, Maguire and Mahrez left with no clause!
  12. I didn't realise he was related to Kolo? Maybe there is something in this. Reading in between the lines it seems he wants first team football to aid his development. He hasnt really kicked on from his promise as a 13/14 year old. He has his first team debut with Celtic two years ago and has hardly featured since. The stumbling block is 1st team football and would he come here for the reserves.
  13. This isn't in the media but a mate who has links to Celtic FC reckons that we are towards the front of the queue for Karamoko Dembele. He is out of contract in the summer and leaving on a free from the Celts. Apparently all sorts of clubs are linked to this kid (Barca, Real etc) who apparently refused loans this season and is winding down his contract. If you Youtube him, he looks like Messi LOL. I'm not saying he is any good as I know little about him but apparently he played for the England u-18s the other day and scored. If there is any meat to this bone, It will be a decent signing for the u23s.
  14. For years, Tottenham have had a wage cap, play hard ball on transfers and always sell there best players (Berbatov, Bale, Carrick, Modric etc) and have managed one trophy (League cup) in the 2000s. They are the least successful club from the so called big 6. Looking at there squad today (not including loanees), its no surprise to me they aren't doing so well (and are largely playing crap football) Yes they have a billion pound stadium which was meant to cost around £400m when plans were submitted, and they apparently need to repay over 1b including interest although I cant find that article (I can only find the one from last year https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/11676596/tottenham-stadium-loan-repayments/ ) They will continue to be talked about due to their London post-code and the fact they did achieved plenty in yesteryear, including the double. To me, they are a very average club with an amazing stadium and thats it. Living in London I am surrounded by delusional Spurs fans who talk like they are Real Madrid! They are not all that and IMO, not that smart a club when you look at their trophy cabinet.
  15. Ayoze was great against Sheff U, today he was under par. Castagne to me just doesnt look like left-back and continues to be very average there but everyone else was outstanding.
  16. The lad was in the Prem team of the year last season and had that injury that set him back. Naturally we expect these returning players to come back flying but it can take time, like it has Cags. Today he was his aggressive dominate self once again. More of the same please!
  17. As Tielemans said in the post match interview, Kelechi is a quiet shy lad. Vards by all accounts is a nutter!! They are just two different personalities. The poor bloke comes over from Africa aged 18 to make it as a footballer and has to attempt to displace Aguero in his pomp. Moves on to us thinking it must be easier to get a game and has to replace Vards! How he has stuck around for 4 years is testament to his attitude! I'm just made up for him that he is finally been given a chance and showing what he can do. One year left on his deal is the only worry herein!
  18. The best thing that Claude Puel did for our football club was to sign this bloke.
  19. I think we need to accept that we will lose our top players at some stage and getting into the top 4 wont make a difference. I cant see all of Tielemans, Maddison, Barnes, Fofana, Ndidi etc all being with us in 2 seasons. Some may, not all. As long as we keep selling one or maximum two a season and keep buying well, we could invariably improve despite the sales. Maguire out Caglar in, Chilwell out Justin in, Kante out Ndidi in. That type of deal will do for me, especially when we also made about 120m profit on those deals. Dortmund have been doing this for years. Every season there better players leave to big clubs but they unearth young gems. I just hope we continue to recruit the younger player because every time we go for 28 year olds (or over) like Silva, Slimani, Iborra they cost a lot of money and they don't add much value to the squad financially or on the pitch. I'm loving the footballing model we have currently, lets keep doing what we have been over the last few seasons by making money and spending what we have well.
  20. He reminds me of Viera frame wise. Also lesser so Bellingham. The almost look like they cover more ground than others. I wouldn't mind if he ended up as good as either!!
  21. Castagne continues to worry as a LB or LWB. He was the man bought in to replace Chilwell but its James Justin who owns that position. To me Castahne offers very little on the left side and looks excellent on the right. The problem is JJ is out until probably October or November. Would you folks persist in Castagne or opt for Fuchs or Thomas?
  22. He looked much, much sharper than he has done since he returned from injury. He definitely needed that rest. It was also nice for him to be able to run wide and look like crossing the ball for someone else for a tap in! 8/10 performance despite the two misses. The goals will come no doubt. BTW. talking of Vardy, has anyone seen this exchange with Klopp? If the transcript is accurate, it was a weird thing for a manager to say?! BTW, Vardys response and awkwardness makes me love him even more LOL! (Go to 6 mins 14 seconds for Vardy bit although the vid is quite funny all round!!)
  23. Every time I see the lad in these little cameos, he just looks like he belongs. I think he has a good future ahead of him but I cant see how he gets in our team with the talent ahead of him available.
