when moaning about fixture congestion, no of games played etc, they seem to forget that the other divisions have more teams in them. CL/EL teams: - 38 league + 6 group = 44 games Championship:- 46 league games So championship sides play 2 more games before FA/league cups unless they progress to a European semi. We got the QF and Cov the SF of the fa cup so their argument really does not hold water

Chelsea will of course try to low ball us. They are in psr trouble themselves so will be trying to string any payments out until after june
-
Graham Cross. 600 appearances.
-
It's not just us though. KDB and Salah failed to make any impact at chelsea but did ok for themselves elsewhere. Sometimes you can see the potential but it just fails to click for any number of reasons. Players reach their primes at different ages, or simply blossom under different managers, styles etc.
-
Thete was no such thing as player power back then either. No bosman ruling and a much more level playing field in terms of wages etc. It was common for players to simply be told that they had been sold by the clubs and then left to sort out their personal terms. If the player didn't want the move, then they were simply dropped to the reserves. If a player wanted to move, even at the end of their contract, they had to submit a formal transfer request and would then be "listed", with the club retaining their registration until a suitable transfer fee was agreed.

Not that I think he is a contender, but those touting cambiasso can kiss Vardy goodbye. No love lost there and can't see jv signing on if he was appointed.
-
Get potter, then when Southgate quits, fleece the FA for £Ms in compo. Psr sorted.
-
Could be a useful shop window for us if he does well
-
I quite like the look of him. Done well at cov. Plus it would really p*ss them off if he quit to come here
-
Of course we aren't. But, they can only appoint one. At some point, the rest are going to have to lower their sights. Personally, I think we should decide on any feasible targets, and get on with it. If man utd are in the market so be it, but for us to wait around to see who might be left after the scramble would be stupid. The earlier we can get it done the better.
-
Obviously we can't pay that sort of dosh. But you never know, £5m pa is better than none. A job is a job after all (not that he will need to sign on the dole). Part of our issue may be that the best ones are waiting to see what happens at man utd. Before taking a lower salary with us.

Not much mention of Poch. Presume most think he wouldn't want to come or that wecouldnot afford him
-
Lots saying nobody decent will want yo come here due to financial and points deductions etc. End of the day we are, at least for now, a PL club and there are only 20 of those jobs, most of which are already taken. We always have been a well respected club who have a reputation for paying decent wages to our managers so I don't think there will be any shortage of decent applicants.

No. end of June.
-
Another thing. If he has already had actual contact with Chelsea, as opposed to pure media speculation, then the club would have to have given their permission, or it would be an illegal approach. (Yes I know tapping up goes on all the time) As there has been no "hands off" warnings or cries of "foul" from our camp then I can only assume that they are fully aware of the situation and will be making contingencies.
-
People keep saying things like this. If he is looking elsewhere then we should get rid etc. How exactly? If he is either not offered or decides to turn down chelsea (or anyone else for that matter) he is still under contract here. To sack him, simply because he showed interest in an opportunity at a top club would cost us millions in compensation. He either goes (in which case we gain £10m) or he stays.
-
I didn't say that he would turn them down if offered the post. The fact that they may have made an approach does not mean he actively wants away, simply that he he would naturally be interested in exploring the option. That is not the same thing as actively seeking an exit
-
Do we know he wants out? Do we actually know for certain that Chelsea have made an official approach and have been given permission to speak to him, and if so if he has actually spoken to them. If you were approached by another employer, who happens to be a bigger company offering much higher wages and a prestigious position in your chosen field, would not at least listen to what they are offering? Even if he does talk to them, it does not mean that he wants out, simply that he is exploring a potential option and may decide that he prefers it where he is.

Just pay bigger dividends to the shareholders. No money will go down the pyramid as other teams might just then be able to be competitve

Anybody thought that maybe the “hangers on in suits” were potential major future sponsors that could get us out of the psr sh*t? i get the resentment to perks for hangers on, as everyone seems to describe them, but in reality who wouldn’t invite their friends and families etc. In the same position
-
Not always. We won it in the seventies when we played Liverpool as second division champions. That said pretty sure efl and pl will make sure we don't get invited
-
If man City do the double we may get another crack at the community shield

Any pics of the display?
