  1. How old is this? Macclesfield were liquidated in 2020.
  2. we were in league one once
  3. Double post but it's a different point - Considering I actually want to stay down until we've cleared out the deadwood and built a new spine of players that give a shit, having a cheat code team like Man City there to obviously dominate the league and take away an automatic spot would actually be a blessing in disguise. In hindsight, us coming straight back up before the rebuild job Enzo started was complete has been one of the worst things to happen to us. Blood the youth, see how they do, if we fall short give them time. I like to hope the fanbase will acknowledge and respond to young players fighting for the shirt even if we don't see instant success. It's 100% preferable to having to see half of these wastemen stink up the second division.
  4. It would be exactly what we deserve to be thrown a lifeline by this, only to be beaten to the survival spot by a team that was in League One two seasons ago. We almost handed them the title last year anyway, would be nice of us to finally complete our charity donation to Portman Road. Man City vs Wrexham would be a hell of a TV game, won't lie.
  5. One thing that particularly annoys me about Kristiansen is, he's honestly one of the best crossers of the ball at the club - whips them in low and hard. Been crying out for that for years with pacy forwards who aren't blessed with height. Problem is, he's so shit he's never in a position to do it. Last time I can actually remember him doing one and positively affecting the game was the first game of the season vs spurs, just before Vardy's equaliser. Perhaps it would be a decent weapon against Championship opposition. But i want him nowhere near the team next season, considering he already ran away once on loan when faced with a season in the second tier.
  6. Man Utd have had plenty of planes flying banners over Old Trafford over the years, but I haven't heard anyone tell them they shouldn't because of Munich. And that was actually a plane crash.
  7. Frankly I'd like a refund for this year's season ticket. I paid up-front expecting to see football matches. For the past seven games (debatably more) there's only been one team playing any, and it isn't the one I bought a ticket to see. If people could get their money back after being missold PPI, I want mine back for paying £30+ a pop to watch eleven training cones for the past few months.
  8. Realised on my way home from the Man Utd debacle that I can't make a single home game for the rest of the season. I'M FREEEEEEEEEEEEE
  9. It's a great idea, I'll chip in. Regarding the one or two who think it's somehow insensitive, forgive me but I must have missed the part where it was a plane that caused the tragedy. As dreadful as it was, I'm feeling more and more like the loss of Vichai is being weaponised by some groups and used as a deflection. It's an emotional subject for all fans, but it actually sits far worse with me when 'KPFC' type fans use it to shut down perfectly valid criticism against the garbage way KP are running the club today.
  10. I live in hope that the club get exactly what they deserve for treating fans like customers. Which is fans voting with their feet and choosing not to come to games next season, because the product is garbage and represents terrible value for money. Calling it now - we will have at least one game with sub-20k attendance next season. Not officially, because of the bullshit way they count season tickets as attending even when they don't, but realistically it's only going to take a poor start for the hangers-on to pack it in and stay home. It's already happening now in the EPL, good luck selling out Wycombe at home on a Tuesday night.
  11. Yeah, this is the worst in my lifetime. I have only vague childhood memories of the Tater Peeler season, but even that only really comparable to the Rodgers relegation - a well-balanced squad built by his predecessor, filled with inferior replacements that ultimately failed with a whimper despite probably being good enough to survive on paper. In hindsight, the lows beyond that Bolton loss only really got as bad as the futile wait for Akinbiyi to come good. We've got that again with Daka, and in so many other positions throughout the side. We're also getting tonked far more regularly than Tater's side ever did. Like others have said, there's zero passion, nobody on that field bar Vardy seems to care. Even the team I saw relegated to League One had the likes of Hume, Howard, Oakley, Kisnorbo, Wesolowski, who seemed to care. And the stats obviously back up how uniquely appalling this squad is. Minus 40 goal difference. Record breaking goalless streaks. It would be causing riots in the stands at clubs less placid than ours.
  12. The last ten minutes, when the 4000 of us left stopped giving a shit and started ironically cheering everything and singing 'championship again olé olé', was the most fun I've had down there in months. Even UFS had given up after the second goal. It's finished. There's nothing to sing for anymore besides gallows humour.
  13. He'll be important next season. He's a Championship standard player. Probably be the next Vestergaard in that respect - a forgotten man who surprises the fanbase by stepping up against inferior opposition. Like others have said, I don't have any ill will towards Skipp himself, just the board for pathetically spaffing what little transfer budget we had on someone of his caliber. He's just the ultimate example of how poorly-run we are, moreso than Reid or Ayew given they cost peanuts in comparison. I dread to think what wage he's on, though. Will not be in the least bit surprised if it comes out that he's in the top 10 best paid players in the second tier next year.
  14. To be fair, Daka has probably been scoring goals without us even noticing - the ball is just ending up in a parallel universe before it hits the net.
  15. Moving soon, can't wait to be 100 miles from this shitshow
  16. Anyone posting team news? Don't use Xitter anymore
  17. First game in over a month for me, normally would be buzzing, today I'm feeling absolutely nothing.
  18. There's clearly something wrong when I'm pissed off that Ipswich are collapsing against Forest. At this point I think I'm actually more invested in them bottling UCL than anything that helps prolong our delusions of survival. God, what a depressing season. The worst ever.
  19. Matt Piper's been calling him out as not good enough for weeks now on the radio. It's very unusual for him to single out players, but it's been a consistent point amongst his (very good) rants and forensics.
  20. Bristol City making an actual playoff push instead of just being nailed on for 12th is a nice surprise. Be a shame if they go up and we go down though, proper good city for an away day.
  21. Would actually make a great spectacle if a group of fans all did it at once with the same book, cover clearly visible for the cameras. Any ideas of which book to use?
  22. The expansion was going to be funded with loans taken out against TV money from the top flight. Our club's moronic structure let the relegation of 22-23 happen through sheer ineptitude, which jeapordised everything. They're just too shady to publicly admit that it's now dead in the water unless by some miracle we survive and get the second year's worth of EPL money we need for it. Internally, I think they gave up on it by the time we lined up against Cov that August.
  23. I mentioned it before a few months back when it happened, but it kind of got overlooked so I'll mention it again - I met him with some other folks including an ex colleague of his after a match last season and, while he was great company and very knowledgeable, let's just say he was very loose with inside info about the club. Basically told us [some fairly confidential info about the expansion and its likelihood of happening after relegation. Which at that point was not good, and based on what he told us is now 90% not happening.] That's coming from someone inside the club structure, knowing full well how secretive they are about anything. If you're willing to tell some randoms in the Blues Bar stuff like that, I can imagine there's more to his dismissal than just getting Rudkin a hearty boo at the Clock Tower.
  24. Had the (dis) pleasure of visiting a friend in Coventry overnight, which would be my first time in the city proper rather than their crappy stadium which may as well be in Nuneaton. Good lord what a dump. I wasn't sure if the tales about the centre were exaggerated but nah, it really is like they cobbled together all the worst bits of Birmingham's 60s concrete hellscape into one car-centric monstrosity. There were some very sketchy characters around once night fell too. Loads of roadmen, far more than I'm used to seeing in town. Even the suburbs are just... Nothing. I took a wrong turn driving out and ended up in Radford, which is supposed to be a 'nice' bit of town but as it turns out is just miles and miles of... Well, nothing. Just endless rows of semi-detached houses with barely any amenities or proper transport connections. Yuck. It's the only time, besides our recent trip with the foxes to Walsall, that I've realised that - while Leicester is far from perfect - it could be so much worse.
